When they’re pressing our back 5 onana, de ligt or Martinez have the option to go long to zirkzee who is big to receive the ball. He’ll then look hold up the ball and feed it into rashy or Garnacho.

Great touch in tight spaces. Good strength to receive with back to goal and defender pressure. Great awareness to lay off and make a killer pass. Will probably help Hojlund improve his game too. Tick from me.

He’s a different player, martial has much more pace. Zirkzee 1,93m (I believe it’s 6’4?) and is someone who likes to lean in at defenders and quickly turn away.

For anyone not sure about zirkzee. Yes, he’s not a top striker and I don’t think he really shows any sign to be. But what he is fantastic at, is holding up the ball when the keeper goes long, and feeding the likes of rashford and Garnacho in who are more like inside forwards than wingers. This is signing is less about how he plays and more about how he compliments the wingers we have. Against teams like arsenal, Liverpool, city and even villa where they want to play a high line. Onana can pick zirkzee out, he’s big so hell have a good chance at receiving it against any CB then feed it into rashford or quick lay off to Bruno and Bruno will dish it out for a run in behind. Have faith in the process. This is a fantastic signing.

Utd need basically an entirely new team, with the exception of Mainoo and Hjolund. Zirkzee looks like a quality player, but I don’t see him succeeding at Utd with their current setup

Nice skills but i've seen him also live when he played for Anderlecht, bit lazy and his shooting is bit weak. The talent is there, he is 23 and does amzing things with the ball. Could be nice back up for Hojlund. He can also send Hojlund on the bench if he performs more than him. There are lot of games and both will have their games.

This is a DIFFERENT type of striker signing, that's why its good. He's like Harry Kane with a little less finishing ability but even more on-ball ability. Hojlund needs service to thrive, Zirkzee is more than happy to drop deep and PROVIDE that service to the likes of Rash, Garnacho and even Bruno. We will basically be 2 different attacking units depending on whether Hojlund or Zirkzee is playing, and if they're both playing together. That makese us that much more harder to defend against.
