Karim Benzema has been presented his first Ballon d'Or at a ceremony at Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France. The Real Madrid striker beat the likes of Sadio Mane, Kevin de Bruyne, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the voting to claim the most prestigious individual award in men's football after a sensational 2021-22 season. He helped steer Real Madrid to the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League and has also won the UEFA Mens player of the season award. It will be interesting to continue watching the impact which Madrid's captain will have over the course of the next few years playing for the Galacticos. With the FIFA world cup around the corner it will be interesting to see how much of an impact the newest Ballon D'Or winner will have for his french national team...
