I agree, they need to upgrade the app software to allow users to export in 4k for andriod, as iphone users can do

Not anymore... insta360 updated the app to export 4k now. Also you're wrong... the LRV files are Low Resolution Video. The high resolution 360 video files are .insv and 360 photos are .insp. if you don't want to have to deal will Reframing 360 video, shoot in Single Lens mode and the camera creates a .mp4 format file that doesn't next conversion.

Thanks for the info :) I accidentally said LRV, it’s INSV but I meant that the files are in a different format which need to be reframed. But if I don’t want 360 videos why would I even use Insta360, I would just use a normal camera

Yeah I updated the app it does export 2K but still it’s an extra step to render everything first before using it for longer video. I use the desktop version for higher quality exports

It’s a good camera, no doubts but just not for everyone.

I owned the x3. I traded it for a GoPro11 with media mod. Couldn't be happier. X3 was a letdown.

If you don't need 360 then you don't need this camera, if you do then is pretty much the only reliable option we have now

Is insta 360 desktop studio a paid software? If we copy the video to laptop and edit then will we have 4k 360 video? The only reason I am not buying insta 360 x3 is because of poor quality after applying lens guard

And I think you should watch the complete video first. For a higher quality (2K or 4K) the export needs to be done on the Insta360 Studio which is a desktop version 😊

In regards to my view, I was doing a series of what equipment I use where I mentioned the pros and cons of each device in different videos so I have both opinions. It’s for creators who want to experiment with different styles and not for those who don’t want to do the extra steps :)

This is convince vs creativity, if you can't handle the extra steps then I'm sure you will create even more trying (and most likely failing) to create the same type of footage on a conventional action camera.

That's why I mentioned to use brains before buying rather than uselessly ranting over it/others later

That is why I use it but then a lot of people are not aware of the extra steps involved in getting the footage. I've used multiple gadgets for a long time including insta 360. I have no reasons to promote a Chinese brand unless it adds value as a consumer. Every product has it's own shortcomings. In my perspective Insta 360 pros overshadows its shortcomings. The way you have projected it in your review sounds negative so you have such responses.
