This is Why Fire Opal is So Expensive!
In this video, I discuss fire opal -- what it is, what it isn't and where it is found. I concentrate on Mexican Fire opal, but fire opal from Ethiopian and Australia are also shown. I make an arrowhead (knapping) with Australian fire opal.

That arrow just hit me in the heart. Just stunning! Cant wait for another episode.
I really enjoy the vibs of your vids, the honesty in your educational parts, and the lovely editing including your cats. The cantera opal seem to be the ones that were the prettiest in my opinion, and congrats to all the winners.
This video is a sensory overload in the best way. The cats, the bird sounds, the ASMR, the colors, THE OPALS!
Love Poco , Touchy , and Hopper!!! They are so cute and in sync
I was amazed in the Flaking process, I was soo scared that it would break the stone. And again you made a stunning arrowhead, thanks for making a fantastic videos.

Just started learning about the world of stone cutting! Had to binge a few of your videos because they are so fascinating. That arrowhead is amazing and I would love to enter the giveaway. Flint napping is also something that I’m beginning to look it. Keep up the great content and very cute kitties:)
I've never seen such beautiful fire opal before! I'm blown away at the stones you create every week! Thanks for sharing your talents! Can't wait to see what you do next! Congrats to all the winners
Your video was great! I love opals, but never knew anything about the way they were formed. Such fascinating info in a very easy to understand delivery. You’re a naturally gifted teacher! I look forward to more of your work!
The cantera opal might not be as classically pretty as other opals, but it's so interesting to look at. I love how the arrowhead turned out. So fun seeing your kitty's personalities!

The cathedral in San Miguel de Allende is made of cantera. You can see the nicks where the opals are or were. It’s amazing.
Colonel, I've been following your channel for the opals, and that rapier sharp wit of yours, but I have to admit that Hopper, Touchy and Paco (especially Paco) are bringing me even more joy than the opals. Please keep sharing their antics with us. Thank you! 🐈😻

@@PulitzerOpal I am an animal lover, but cats are my spirit animals, LOL. I actually have three black cats, and a gray tabby, plus six neighborhood semi-feral kitties that I care for, including spaying and neutering all of them. I also had an orange tabby girl, Cinnamon, who I lost last year, so I'm partial to orange tabbies. 🐈😺 Thanks again for the great content, and take care.

I'm not going to call you Dude, Buddy, Mr or Pal. But young man, you do some of the BADAZZ Opal, cutting, shaping & polishing I've ever seen! Congratulations To the winners.
Colonel I really appreciate how you educate us about how opal is made and the different regions that it comes from. Thank you for all the wonderful info and the fantastic videos!

Nice reveal! I love watching you cut from rough opal, (any kind of opal!) I just don’t have the time to cut anymore with little kids, so I’m living vicariously through you.
The hints on identifying the origins of Fire Opal were great, thanks 👍🏼 The Opal arrowheads are superb, a demonstration of your flaking skill that I daren’t even attempt on chert or quartz. Keep up the superb work 🧡

Me and my mom recently met up and went through some opal fragments we got from a paydirt buckrt. Nothing too big but seeing her face as she looked for them was the best. Amazing pieces.
