This Is What Remains of the Abandoned Topeka State Hospital in 2021 Part 1 (Topeka Insane Asylum)

Ойын-сауық

The Topeka State Hospital is our first abandoned mental hospital to be featured on the channel. It was eerie going there knowing it had a dark past. Unfortunately, most of the former complex has long been demolished including the building used as the thumbnail. There are still 5 buildings standing and we will show them both in part 1 and 2.

Stephanie was my aunt. Its nice to see her traumatic passing being observed in the exploring community as part of the history. She was a lovely lady and was well liked my her patients.

Any footage from the grounds where you could see the old tunnels, treatment rooms?, They could still be seen in 1975 from various areas on the grounds. Windows on little embankments showed inside. Lots of history

I’ve always wanted to see a video from you guys about an abandoned mental hospital. Do you have any other videos on these kind of hospitals?

Yeah we have part two for this hospital coming out next week and then we also have a video of an asylum in Detroit. The one in Detroit was a lot bigger and had a lot more left behind. We’ll probably wait to post it for a while because we would rather have a variety of types of locations but it’ll come out before too long.

This is actually an asylum. Thank you guys for not click baiting. I cannot wait for part 2. Was there security or anything when you went here? I might go check it out myself. If I can ever make it out there.

A lot of people claim a lot of things are asylums. But yes, this place actually was an asylum. When we went there was not security and it was all pretty open. However the grass around the buildings is still mowed so someone takes care of the land. And all the buildings are not right by eachother either. But with all the history about this place, I would def get out there if you can.

I grew up literally right next door to this in Topeka. When I lived there--- 1996 through 2001 and it was the COOLEST place to explore. Most of the buildings (demolished now) were "abandoned" but I always loved going through them with my neighborhood friends. It is a highschool sports complex now with only a handful of the original buildings still there.
