I really hope development picks up and some more love is put into the vehicles. I'm talking APS, more realistic behavior of armor and ammunition, and then counter those additions with things like Javelins. Factions with squad-based drone solutions and things like that would also be super interesting to see.

They should totally add physical spaces inside vehicles, so entering a vehicle would be the same as entering a building

Yeah I don't play base Squad much at all anymore. When I do play Squad it's always the Star Wars Galactic Contention mod. It's goood.

Have they added (or modded in) customizable weapons yet? I think thats my biggest thing that keeps me from the game.

Nope and it’ll likely never happen in the base game. Though there’s tons of kits and sub kits to choose from. And there’s a fairly popular special forces mod where you can’t customize individual attachments but there’s kits loaded out with silencer, bipod foregrip, elcan optics, etc.

Customizing weapons really isn't what the game is designed for or balanced around. I don't think it'd be worth anyone's time for OWI to go back on the already tricky balance situation, just to snipe a feature from call of duty

God modern games have ruined people. The days where an FPS can have a balanced set loadout are gone. Every zoomer needs customization, charms, and tiger striped weapons now in days or else they ignore an otherwise amazing game.

@lilfuzzballa having a personal preference doesn't mean people are ruined. I like being able to tinker with my guns, putting different sights and attachments on it to modify it to my taste. I enjoy having detailed and complex gun modification systems in my game with detailed and complete warfare mechanics.

Im at the point where I pretty much just play Squad on these modded servers. Granted majority of them is full of people that dont talk and just run around randomly dying giving up and respawning thinking its cod or bf.

OWI is such an embarrassment modders are what keep this game alive. Modders add what people want in this game like different weapons, special forces, various attachments, realistic faction names even new maps.

Most, if not all, servers are "new player friendly" but there are some written and unwritten rules that can get you kicked or banned. Such as: Teamkilling, One-manning vehicles and not having a mic/not talking. Don't join a server and create a new squad. Just join an existing squad and listen to your Squad leader. Do that and you'll be fine.

Squad would be cool but after 20 hrs and never even having the chance to play any specialty class it gets old. Especially when you die to a sniper that you can’t touch

sadly mods are just lipstick on a pig at this point when it comes to squad

Guns have so much shake and recoil for even modded squad it hurts to play and doesn't feel good to shoot any of the guns anymore. I hope the new update for the overhaul helps. My 6 year old niece shoots better than how they portray soldiers after the big update. Being an 11B it hurts seeing how they ruined a game me and my buds loved bc they wanted to add child soldiers and I will stand on this hill.

Their goal was not to portray their new ICO recoil and sway as realistic, but to slow down the run and gun habits people have, and discourage lone wolfing and wiping out an entire squad like john wick. They wanted ICO to be exaggerated beyond whats realistic, because in a VIDEO GAME, its requires exaggerated mechanics in order to force squad players to not play like its CoD and rely on their team more.

@palleman689 call me a shill all you want. There is still a huge abundance of people who enjoy ICO and agree with their direction. So what...we are all just lying to ourselves and being payed off? What I said is what they have already said before. Just watch Moidawgs latest interview on their philosophy of ICO. You don't have to like the way the game feels, but at least understand why they made the changes.

crappy update. to the game developers who have had this update approved should be terminated. people who have a lot of experience and many hours in the game leave the game because of the latest update. it's the upside down world we live in, game developers listen to the newcomers and ruin the player experience. make a new game instead of ruining one that people are having fun with. I really hope they wake up and go back to the good old squad ops. we are about 15 people on discord who all have over 800 hours in the game and only 2 of us have not dropped the game yet.

@@lilfuzzballa you have 800 hours in the game. or you have 10 years of experience. no you bought the game within the last few years. those of us who have been instrumental in making a game popular, obviously don't have that much importance for game developers anymore. they would rather listen to young people who have just bought the game. but good luck with your new game, hope you find as much fun in it as I did.

There is a limit to common sense, putting terrorist groups in games I think goes beyond the limit. Can you create mods but cannot create fictional groups? It's just a matter of time for the game to start being talked about badly. It's a shame, it's a great game, but the developers don't have control over what they let in the game?

Depending on the military group, it should also be questioned whether or not it should be included in a game. All of this ruins the reputation of the game and the company.

Project reality had loads of terrorist groups in this the game. Not a big deal. In terms of the morality of depicting specific military forces, what is the difference between depicting Al Qaeda and Nazi Germany? Another thing to take into consideration is that as far as terrorists groups are concerned… not everyone who plays squad are opposed to their movements. And not everyone who plays are supportive of the blue for factions like US, UK or Turkey. So what difference does it make if you’ve got factions like HAMAS vs IDF?
