This is what happens when you DON'T pay your plumber.

Ойын-сауық

Please donate to my cash app I need new blades. Top contributer will get a shout out and this sawsaw. $RudyMonos.
I completed the work because another plumber had left it stubbed up through the floor. After I installed the vanity and installed the cheapest pex stopper and supply line "All in one" i installed the faucets, waste and stoppers, and mechanical vents(studor vents). I called the owner who lived in New York and he refused to pay me and told me to get the money from his (Ex) girlfriend. I called her for about a day , sent texts, nothing. Soooooo. I made this video. 😁 I found out a few months later the house went into foreclosure and about a year later after keeping tabs on this house, i purchased this place at a court house auction. Sooooo Karma I guess.

    Comments here can't recognize the saw blade is good, but the user has only one hand available due to the camera in hand. A mechanic's lien is OK, but only when the house sells will he collect. I back what the plumber did. Many people are jerks and want something for free, yet they want to be paid on time.

    An old boss of mine did a brick planter for a doctor and was done pretty quickly. The doctor was having second thoughts when presented the bill, he said it was an awful amount of money for a few hours of work to which the boss told his brothers to go get the chains. The doctor asked why the chains and he was told were going to rip this thing off your house. Then he said I have to pay you fifty bucks just to walk in your office... the doctor saw things in a different light and paid the bill.

So they called other plumbers that would see my sticker, they would call me, because it was obvious the work was still under warranty. When they find out why the drains are stopped up for lack of payment, they would leave. Forcing the customer to call me. After 40yrs in business I never didn't get paid.

    @HungarianHacker You don't have to agree with it or like it. But it's the law. If a contractor fixes something and the homeowner doesn't pay, you need to go to court. If you "selfhelp" and remove something that is attached to the house, you now have to pay the homeowner for the damages

  • @HungarianHacker

    @HungarianHacker

    6 күн бұрын

    @corryandrew2357 This is coming from the judge from the last time I took someone to court. He said, and I quote, " The item in question is/was damaged, and I need to return it to the store," and just don't return until payment is made in full. There is no need to reinstall the old fixtures because you're currently in the process of repairing or replacement, so if the home owner doesn't pay its not your fault but theirs!

  • @corryandrew2357

    @corryandrew2357

    @HungarianHacker You're right. It's not your fault. But you still can't go and "self-help" and remove whatever you have installed. Note This is only applied to things that are/become attached to the property. This needs to be resolved in court. If the homeowner has a good enough lawyer, he would win because it's illegal to self-help. However, considering the fact he didn't pay you, I'm assuming it is the reason the judge sided with you cause he didn't have money for a good lawyer.

    This happens too often unfortunately. The one thing they don't tell you when getting into the trades; people mysteriously disappearing when it comes time to collect your money. The worst time was when the builder refused to pay the 2nd installment payment after finishing the rough and passing inspection. We went in with sawzalls and just started cutting everything. A week's worth of work we destroyed in one hour. It makes you feel better I guess but it sucks at the same time because you're ruining your own work. Sure you can go the legal route and sue but that takes a lot of money and time. Going in there and wrecking havoc is easier and more satisfying. A lot of shady people out there and they deserve every bit of what they get, be careful who you work for.

    You can only put a mechanics lien on, un you filed for a permit and the work was over $2500 and you recorded the notice of commencement, when its a small repair work under $2500 there’s not much you can really do legally as a tradesman, not worth the time and effort to pursue in court. I have left notes inside equipment and warning next guy that the customer doesn’t pay, and I have seen notes left like that, I refuse the job pack up my tools And tell customer to call back the guy that was here before me. I don’t tell them about the note.

Then I had to patch the old hole, texture it, and I did a few other things. All together everything took me 9 hours to complete. This rich lady and her husband attempted to not pay me. I told her, okay, I'll go ahead and remove the materials from the wall then. They ended up paying me, but I had to firmly stand my ground.

    One time when I was 15 an elderly couple said they'd pay me to clean they're gutters, so I did. In the rain. During November. I was so so so cold, and it took about an hour/hour and a half, maybe 2. Anyway, I go in, tell them I'm done, and would like to get paid. The old man said he didn't have any money to pay me, but that he was grateful blah blah blah. I don't remember exactly what he said because I started getting light-headed, my vision was fading, and I was about to pass out. I end up passing out in front of them, falling over, hitting my head on something, and landing on the ground while they freak out. I only know what happened while I fainted because even by though I went "unconscious," fell, and couldn't see or move for qbout 15 seconds, for some reason I could still hear and knew what was going on. When I came to the guys wife demanded he pay me, put me in one of their jackets (like 4-5 sizes too small for me), and walk me to my dads, still in the rain, that was literally 2 houses away. I got home, took a warm shower, got my $50, and laughed about the whole thing and didn't tell anyone what happened lmao. Moral of the story, pay your damn workers Edit: currently 22 and in construction now
