The first mention of the Earthen that I know of is in the Classic Uldaman dungeon in Vanilla.

I know it’s heretical to bring up anything Shadowlands, but I have considered that maybe Azeroth is a First One, considering every force in the universe wants her on their side and First Ones seem to be corner stones to everything in the WoW universe

It’s not heretical, I have a feeling that these next three expansions are just going to repackage most of what Shadowlands tried to tell us. so looking at Shadowlands is more like reading the cliff notes version Of a book you’re supposed to be reading for Literature class. Short, blunt and full of spoilers. 😂

As to 'why' they all want the World Soul? What if a "Titan World Soul" *isn't really a thing* ? What if World Souls are just powerful beings, but could be connected to *any* cosmological force? And maybe the Titans just found Azeroth *first* and have been trying to ensure that she is born a World Soul of Order (a Titan) and the other forces conversely want a World Soul of *their* alignment. (and maybe Azeroth *herself* just wants self-determination)
