This is Vietnam!?! First Impressions of Da Nang

Join Madison and Ivan on an epic travel adventure through Vietnam, where they uncover the true beauty and unique experiences that this country has to offer. From crystal clear waters to breathtaking rice terraces, get ready to be amazed by the wonders of Vietnam. Subscribe to their channel for more exciting travel content!
We start our day watching the sunrise on a surprisingly busy My Khe beach, before a delicious Mi Quang breakfast at Mi Quang Ba Sam. Next we head to the Marble Mountains for an adventure full of history, spirituality and natural beauty! Exploring deep into the belly of the caves is incredibly cool, and between that and the architecture we are reminded of so many of our favorite places from the Batu Caves in Malaysia to the architecture of Gaudi in Spain, and the pagodas in Japan. It is incredible! We take a Grab (the Uber of South East Asia) to Son Tra Marina, the most beautiful coffee shop! Cafe culture is incredible here, and this seaside Santorini looking spot is the perfect place to try the Salted Coffee (Cà Phê Muối) that Central Vietnam is known for. Linh Ung Pagoda is a short drive from the cafe for the can't miss sights of Lady Buddha and absolutely beautiful bonsai trees!
After a traditional Vietnamese nap (it's too hot to function y'all) we head to dinner at Madame Lan's (one of the most popular restaurants in the city) the fried fish egg rolls and the fish were incredible! But some of you may be questioning, where is the Banh Mi?! The most classic Vietnamese dish? We head to United Bar for a speakeasy INSIDE a Banh Mi cart! The Banh Mi cocktail is incredible!
We head to Son Tra Night Market, and experience the lively fun of the spot! Visit CauTinhYeu, "Lover's Bridge", and finally the Dragon Bridge Fire Show begins! We've had an incredible start to our time in Vietnam! We are loving the food, sights, and people! They are even better than we could have ever expected! The only struggles are with the heat, and crossing the road (which I'm sure we'll get used to). Can't wait to explore more of this stunning country! Please subscribe for more :)

Locals only go to the beach when the sun is not there: early morning or after sunset.

Hope you enjoy Vietnam. I was there in 2000. I'm sure it's way more developed now. Would love to go back some day.

There’s so much to take in, and we just got the final cut. I’m sure actually traveling between spots and experiencing it probably felt like a whirlwind. My biggest takeaway is how passionate and fired up Ivan is about being there. All I could help thinking is “Dude, your face looks like a kid experiencing Disneyland for the first time!” How can the nerding out not be contagious?! I think “Five Elements” is much more descriptive of the mountains and specifically the different caves. Did any locals happen to mention why the name got changed?

You're so right! Everywhere we went blew our expectations out of the water. This place is so full of beauty, history, culture, and delicious food! Awww I absolutely love to hear that! I feel like it was especially special when he ate the noodles that tasted like his mom's cooking! Such a cool reminder of how global our world is too. The story we heard about the name change is that the French named it Marble Mountain when they found it during the colonial era. My guess is they either didn't have a translator at the time, OR they just named it after the mining that was taking place there. "Five Elements" is definitely much cooler! 😎
