Welcome back to Canada. Born and raised in Toronto. So glad to see that you went to The St. Lawrence Market. It is a gem!
I recently spend 17 fun filled years in Toronto, the capital of Ontario. Now I am living in the capital of Canada, Ottawa and I am enjoying the smaller city vibe. Not sure why you don’t like winter. Winter reminds me to be present in gratitude for beautiful days.

I lived just off Queen West in the 1990s. Queen Mother Cafe was open, The Bamboo was open, and so many more. It was not dangerous. It was less expensive, had more artists, was less hostile to the homeless and the vulnerable, but that didn't make it dangerous. In 2014, ten years ago, Vogue named Queen West the second hippest street in the World. Also, there are eleven (11) public swimmable beaches in the city of Toronto with lifeguards.

@@DelightfulTravellers I was just going to add, you should pop out to the Beaches area (Queen St. East) the next time you're in town. It's where the city comes to swim and meander along the boardwalk. The area is also well known for its jazz festival in July and there are lots of events and concerts held at Woodbine Park (Drake's concert venue, History, is across the street from the park as well).

At 74, have always lived in Toronto, 25 years in the west end of the city and the rest in downtown Toronto - a great walking city! As you do, I too go south in the winter but wonderful to explore T.O. in all seasons. So much to enjoy - eh?
Welcome back guys! Great video of TO. Can’t wait for the big news. Looking forward to the upcoming videos. 😀
Thanks for visiting our home town area! We were in for a Blue Jays game a few Sundays ago and they won that day. So much to do in town. Lots of great plays, music and food. We went to Adega a Portuguese place while we were in. Sooooo good. Looking forward to your next video. Safe travels.

There are other beaches along the waterfront that are very popular. Where we live just west of Toronto, the patios are open until sometime in Nov. Many have heaters etc. We don't shut down at the first sign of cold weather.

if you go to the CN tower go for lunch or dinner it covers the cost of going up the tower which is expensive and there is a price fixed menu there, I have a friend that works there she says you might as well have lunch/dinner, it's worth it.

In the USA, we call peameal either Canadian bacon or ham.
Peameal bacon sandwiches are the official food of Toronto, but outside of St. Lawrence Market, you only see them on diner & some older restaurant menus. The unofficial food of Toronto is the Jamaican patty of course - you can find it in every subway station, convenience store, etc. And one more that's less known is sushi pizza! It was invented at Nami restaurant in Toronto & you can find it at any sushi place in the city.
Hey guys, really enjoying your vlogs, especially the Halifax ones where I lived for a few years in the 80's Lawrence St to be precise lol. I got married in New Glasgow! back in Blighty now, still miss a cheeky Donair on a Friday night 🤣
welcome back home!

I know my reasoning is odd but your comment about the food in Toronto is so far the ONLY reason I cannot see myself living elsewhere. In my travels I am always open to moving, living, retiring etc but when it comes down to the food variety and options and access, I have a hard time accepting other places. So for the forseeable future, Toronto will remain my home. And YES you can skate at Nathan during winter. Cheap skate rentals and some cocoa and the lights are lovely.

My old city. The best attraction in Toronto is the CN Tower for sur. Art Gallery of Ontario is also great. Avoid the sad spectacle of the zoo. The Ex when it's on. Toronto has so many neighbourhoods so just walking anywhere downtown, and beyond too, is great. Trevor and Anna, thank you for not taking us to a sporting event. The last thing I want to do is waste three or more hours of my limited exploration of a new area cooped up in an arena to watch a ball game. My friends did that to me when I visited them for a one day layover in San Francisco, and then they were too tired to show me the city. Show me what's unique to an area, not something I can get at home. That's the joy of traveling. 😊

Paddington's Pump, another shop in St. Lawrence Market, also sells peameal bacon sandwiches and offers toppings beyond what Carousel does. I think they have a simpler take-away sandwich and more complex sit-down option, as they have seating. Future video should you return to the city in the future?

Gooderham is pronounced Good-er-um. It's good not god. The distillery was once the largest in the British Empire.
I've been to many places in Italy and I live in Toronto. It is depressing and so culturally poor compared to many places in Italy. The food in toronto is all genetically modified. The people are ultra fake and aren't social at all. Everyone is inside or alone with a dog.
