    I just read from some articles that that there are no shortage of food in Africa, rather we waste food because we don't preserve our food. I have personally seen the amount of food wasted during its season. The whole continent need to learn how to dry and preserve food for a long period.

    Hi Ivain, what Mr. Maya is talking about our Continent Africa both politically and Economic ally is the damn truth. Even politically we are not independent because there will come a time when our colonialist will interfere in our politics for 60 years after some countries in Africa are so--call independent. An example are the French countries in West Africa like Senegal, Ivory Coast, Your own Camaroon of the French side and all the French colonies for not to have political independence because of France medling in their political Affairs. How does France do that, in that France will want to put in some as the president of that country with whom they can work with otherwise any one else will be forced out through a coup de ta. A perfect example was in Ivory Coast when Bagbo won a certain election in Ivory Coast, France does not like Bagbo, so instead Watara was given the win because the French said Watara they can work with, so what happened next in Ivory Coast is history which should NOT be Repeated as far as distruction and death is concerned. When it comes to Economic Independence, its the worst of it all because despite the aboundence of our God given Natural Resources, most of us are very poor from the creadle to the grave. When the IMF give loan to an African country, for that country to pay back that loan, the interest rate is so double high, that country will not be able to pay just the intrest rate of the loan let alone the loan itself. As far as the politicians are concern towards that loan, they will used half of the loan for the project its meant for, and the other half will be in pockets of politicians of that country. These corruption done by Politicians and many other irregularities must have to stop if we as Africans wants our Continent Africa to move on positively like other developed countries.

    The USA has areas of very fertile lands. Some of the most fertile lands in the world are the central valley of California, the great plains of the US and the Mississippi delta region. As for organic food labeling in the US, those foods have to pass some rigorous requirements to attain an organic label. The US exports a lot of organic fruits and vegetables. I think so much misinformation has been put out about food in the US that people automatically take it for being a fact.

  • @berthekabwe871

    @berthekabwe871

    Жыл бұрын

    @beaujac the difference is that most land in Subharan Africa is VERY fertile. Ex. Southern African region is entirely fertile and that's why Agriculture is a big thing in that region. We can literally drop a seed in the soil and it will grow abundantly. We don't even have to use any chemicals to stimulate the soil. In my country we have a saying that " nobody goes hungry during the rain season", because we have so much food especially fruits and vegetables. It literally impossible for someone to starve during the harvest season. The only problem that we have is during dry season when there is little water and no rain and food becomes difficult for poor people.

    Yes, US does have wide swaths if fertile land. I think some of what the conversation was alluding to is the fact that the bulk of the US population still feeds on nonorganic/processed food.
