This is The Swiss Army Knife of Cars
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Don't you wish there was a car out there that could conquer the dirt, the dunes, the track, even a frozen lake - but still be able to legally drive it on the street? If you look at the history of do-it-all vehicles, they usually make design compromises rather than achieve the best of multiple worlds. But there’s one company out there making cars that not only do it all, but do it all VERY well. Today we're gonna look at the clever engineering behind one of the most versatile vehicles of all time - the Sierra RX-3. Let's go!
Special thanks to Cole Powelson of Sierra Cars! Check out the whole Sierra fleet here: www.sierra-cars.com/ or book your own rally experience here: www.lyfemotorsport.com/produc...
And a big thanks to Tyler Shenk for letting us take his RX-3 for a spin!

Nerd fact: Straight cut gears themselves are weaker than helical gears! Racecars use straight cut gears because they don't put axial forces on the transmission housing, which allows the housings to be significantly lighter, or just take way more power, whichever you're going for.

These are essentially hand built, they are not cheap to purchase outright and the company does not hide that. The advantage comes from the range of applications you can use these in, and the cost of running. The cost of running alone is a HUGE consideration most people do not think about because they are too focused on saving money on the purchase price. This is certainly not a product for everyone, but for those it is for, as the video covers it does so much without massive costs in time and money changing setups/modifying. I'm certain if you get behind the wheel of a side by side and one of these to compare, the difference to you will be night and day rather than just 'almost' 😎 - Taz.
