Normally I won't watch anyone reacting to cute stuff online as it'll be rather fake and pretentious, but I can sit through this video all the way from start to finish because of how authentic you guys reactions are. Totally enjoyed a wholesome half an hour session after unwinding from work today. Thanks :)

"Why do cats like keyboards so much?" Here goes: cats display affection, towards other cats AND humans, through mimicry. That's why you'll often see pairs of cats doing the same thing together, like going to the same place (with the same movements), or playing by making the same movements into one another, or even sleeping together (or even better, together AND in the same exact position. You can google this one for a heavy dose of "aw" if necessary). Same goes for humans, so they see the human they like the most sitting somewhere, they go sit next to them. They see the same human sleeping, they go sleep next to him (often in the same position too). They see you playing with the keyboard, they go to the keyboard to play with it. Since cats are extremely shy and independent, the perception of this behaviour is associated with a display of affection and trust. Even in this video, you have an example of this: the kid sitting by the lake, and the cat sitting right beside him.

That decoy keyboard is GENIUS! And cats sit/walk/stomp on the keyboard/book/magazine because you are not paying attention to them in that moment when they WANT you to pay attention to them.

So with the Kitten ambush video at the beginning y’all said you’d crash probably while driving with all those kittens. Back in 2012 when I was working at Walmart as a cartpusher I found a kitten in the parking lot. When asking to announce it in case the owner was around they said it wasn’t worth it, so I put her in my car, went on break and gave her cat treats and water in an old go phone case. It was raining and I couldn’t leave her out in the lot. So on the way home she rode on my shoulder. It was the cutest thing ever. Her name was Lucky and she lived until about mid 2020 she was a happy cat.

13 kitten story warms the heart. I've got 10 cats a ton the moment. They're all stray. Except one I got young , gizmo. There's a stray cat epidemic in my neighborhood. Ive bent over backwards trying to help. I took every cat that would let me. I've found homes for 8 cats, I've spent god only knows how ,ugh fixing cats. I've fixed all mine plus another 10. Fixed them got them their shots, got em healthy. 100% of the stim check money went to this. I even fought a neighbor physically after I caught him hurting a year old orange and white kitten. The kitten was asleep and this dbag looks around, thinks nobody is watching and hurls a stick at this sleeping kitten. It hit the kitten and hurt his leg. Poor guy couldn't walk for a week, but I took him and his two siblings in after that. I dam near blacked out in anger, rushed this pussy. His name is mike Seidel he's a cop in brigantine New Jersey. I've got court coming up sometime. I brought the abused kitten and his two siblings inside. I got 4 in my house, another 6 in my garage with heating pads and heating panels. Can't care for one more cat but there's many others. Two neighbors starting doing the same thing. What gets me is I've done all I can and it's not enough. There's no no kill shelters, animal control won't do,e out to trap them. It's a fucked situation. The next kittens I find abandoned by poor mama who can't afford to take care of them, will have to go to the shelter. I'm constantly looking for homes for cats, and if you know anybody looking I got 3 or 4 special sweethearts. These cats are the sweetest cats I've ever seen. They should be feral. I've won them over with love and in that, it makes the, so sweet, so cuddly. They know I'm trying. They know anybody I introduce them to is trying too. They won't let anybody touch them until I introduce them but with a tiny bit of effort any of these three, nala, nova, or ty will make a great cat. They might have to Ben an indoor outdoor cat that's up to you, and how ,ugh your willing to work with them.

Ive got 8 in my house, its absolute hell, one is so fat she cant clean her butt, so she drags it, so there are sh*t stains around our whole house, and we have to use wipes to clean her every. Single. Day.

This makes me think of my dogs.. I chose them the instant i saw them. I was nine at the time. One was overly hyper (female) and one was shy and timid (male), took a while before he started trusting me. We all grew up together.. The hyper one grew up to be the more chill one while other was the rascal😂, getting into street fights with stray dogs around the hood, anyone who was drunk that stumbled into any area of our house got sober real quick.. dude even got stabbed once.. came back home and acted like nothing even happened.. sigh*... I was so heartbroken when they died.. happend when i was in high school and it was boarding school too so i wasn't even there for them.. Seeing the pets just reminded me of them.. haha.. good times.. Still miss them..

Got my dachshund when I was about 8. I'm 25 now. He's eating his lunch right next to me rn. He's seventeen. We had gotten him for a friend originally, she died of cancer, her husband now widowed couldn't bear to look at the dog so they sent the dog back to us and he was thrilled to be back with me. Immediately ran to my room and waited for me according to my parents. As soon as they said my name he came running to the door and greeted me. I scooped him up and we went to play Halo. Good times. Always sat in my lap while I games, or had to be dragged up the ladder with me to rest on my big ol' bunk bed when I slept. He slept on my arm, or up against my belly. Now he sleeps with his head resting on my thigh usually and his butt resting against my chest, but he always has to be firmly pressed against me. Dog is seventeen years old and still sprints around like he's five or six. Still going strong for a dog his age. He just has no teeth left. Had them all pulled out because of the risk of infection from rot. Now he gets a daily meal of nutritious soft food. Meaty stuff good for dachshunds. Always seems to be either the red dachshunds, the blue dapples or the traditional black and tan dachshunds that are so dang incredibly tough and Lil Man, my dog is no exception. Dude has outlasted two generations of dogs from everybody else in the family. I've seen my parents lose two sets of dogs, one brother lose three, one lose two in their homes ( Don't live with us anymore, still have dogs. Apparently bad luck with them because they end up with health issues. ) - and every time someone that hasn't seen my family in awhile comes by, I step outside to greet them and my dog is right beside me they're like " DAGGUM, THAT DOG IS STILL ALIVE!? "

16:13 The kid that went to play in the woods came back with a deer is so adorable. This reminds me when I was playing in the woods and I found a really big dog and I brought him home to my father that was working under my grandma's house that lived next to us, and when my father slid out from under the house he was really startled and reached over to grab me in the big dog with white fur showed his teeth to my father each time he tried to reach for me twice and stated let's go see mom. So we walked about a hundred yards over to my parents house with my dad and he called for my mother she tried to reach and grab for me three or four times each time the dog showed his teeth and leaned forward towards my mom she finally got upset and told me going to the house when she did that the big dog went into the woods and stayed by the outskirts. He stayed around for the whole summer which I would bring him out food and play with him he ended up getting killed trying to follow the school bus at the beginning of the year right over the overpass about 3 Mi down the road towards the school from my house. That big canine that I spoke of was a white arctic wolf my mother suspected that he was somebody's pet because he was not aggressive with me and did not eat me and Arctic wolves aren't known to be in the Northwest that I know of at least. But I really bonded with him throughout the summer he did not let my parents get near him but always came out to meet me at the edge of our Woods my mom would just say that he's my totem animal, which is my mother's cultural background but I found it to be soothing after my lost

Yeah, I've only ever heard them referred to as "binkies". But there could be regional differences.

I very much needed this today, was having a really crappy day. But on the topic of cats and being a cat owner myself, the trick to have an affectionate cat is to not over pamper, just cuddle them a little and let them take the next step, I did that with my cat without trying to since I work at home and now lil Roman is an absolute cuddly baby.

26:39 that's awesome how the doggos know NOT to squish the little fluff. so sweet. wish my cats and dog would do this. i've had prior ones hang out and be best friends but he dog i have now is (ugh, hate having to say this but its serious) a "rescue." the people that lived across my gma/papa's house moved and left all the stuff they didn't want on the side of the street... including their dogs favorite toy. she's a brendel pit which, where i'm from, is HIGHLY wanted by dog breeders and owners. so for them to not care for the dog at all like they did and it shows once we took her in, that she wasn't getting cared for / loved at all... she literally RAN away from the new home which was just down the street... went back to the old house, dug out her favorite toy and slept there with it overnight for a WEEK straight... if the owners cared at all, they were ONLY down the street and didn't bother to check the old house just in case... come on, a week. i have a rule, if someone abandons their animal for a week and it's just sitting in one spot, and there's absolute no sign of it getting picked up, then day 8, they're coming home with me... we had to re-train her to the best of our ability but she's sooo hyper and she got tall long legs with dangerous daggers for claws, huge teefers for nomnoms but she can be super sweet. it's jst when she's playing she doesn't realize how big she is and can easily hurt anyone in the house by accident. the dog we had before her was a male mutt, he WAS the runt of the litter of yet another rescue (his mom was another homeless dog that ran away presumably, and sat on my friends porch for 2 weeks in the dead of winter where that year it was getting down in the single digits. they already had a dog for 12 years so they fed what little they could afford but other than that they were quite mean to the female doggo. which pissed me off. when i finally decided to take her home with me, alls i did was open my door and say "c'mere" and she jumped in FAST and even sat in the front chair somewhat like a human would and i put the seatbelt on her). she had a littler and the little warm spot we helped them make inthe back yard had an angled entrance where the runt of the litter would legit stand guard every day and night til he slept. i knew he was gonna get big due to his paw size. anyway. we already had a dog and the neighbor psycho kept complaning to the city. i remember one time she was talking to me saying "im gonna put down some anti-flea poison along the fence-" i said wait, what? i was too young at this time to talk to her like i should have but it was OUR fence so she had NO RIGHT to do such a thing. notonly that, she put a LOT and even threw some into our back yard. imagine one day you walk outside and see a litter of puppies all over your driveway stone cold dead. such a horrible memory and morning. fuck that old hag if she's still alive. which i doubt she is. the dog before all of them was brownie when my sister found her on the side of the road she was the size of a SMALL coconut, imean TINY, which fluffy chocolatey fur and she was shaking / trembling so bad it was like fear and being cold. we ofcourse named her brownie. she thought she was a male dog for some reason. but i taught her a lot of stuff since we got herbefore her eyes even opened... how can someone throw out a dog that little onto the side of the road when its eyes aren't even open.... wicked world. she was hyper intelligent . miss her and beester (the runt of the litter pack story) then a decade or so before that, my parents would breed little boston terriers for a little pocket money back when my dad owned a muffler shop, check cashing business, had a hand in real estate, as well as working on expanding the muffler business down the east coast, and was looking into getting a used-car lot. he was grinding 24/7 back in the day... anyways. i think we bred Doberman pups twice due to the extreme difficulty our female had getting pregnant as well as keeping the puppies alive. she damn near ate all of the first littler and half of the second... we don't know why. but i tell you this, if you want a vicious guard dog? get a female doberman. they don't play around. they're fast/agile as fk, and if they give the tiniest whiff of ill intentions, that's ya ass. she had 2 kinds of bites. the bone crushing one where she'd bite down as HARD as possible and would NOT release. she'd just keep tightening it as much as she could, and the more room she had to press down she'd go further. then the other one was shredder type. multi-bites to mess you up if she couldn't get a lock on your ass she was BIG, TALL, and if she stood on hind legs then she'd be almost 6ft tall. we built 3 fences, higher n higher each time and she'd just pop over them with a jump. not really a jump just a hippity hoppity bop im onthe other side now haha kinda thing. no running start or anything bro. shit was wild

When my late little brother and I were kids, right after the first Toy Story movie came out, he, too, was convinced the toys were alive and moved around when he wasn't around. So, one day, as he was playing with toys in his room, my mom called him away to do something I knew would keep him away for several minutes. Now, he had a poster of a fierce looking white tiger, which was snarling and slashing with one paw, on the wall at the head of his bed. So, as quickly as I could, I arranged all the toys in the vicinity, including the ones he's just been playing with, on and around his pillow, as if they were in the middle of a battle charge against the tiger in the poster. Everything from G.I. Joe's (plural) to little green army men, to Lego men, to the stuffed dinosaur he hugged when he slept. I had just finished when I heard him coming, and just barely had time to hide in the corner behind an old chiffarobe where my mom kept our few nicer (not grass-stained) clothes. He came in not really paying attention to his surroundings, looked down at where he had been playing, didn't see the toys he expected to be there, and froze. He sloooowly looked up and began quietly looking around. His eyes landed on the scene I had fabricated, and froze again. He stared at it for just a few moments (but what must have seemed like an eternity to him), then RAN out the door, alarmed mumbling to himself, presumably to find mom outside. I quickly took all the toys and put them back (more or less) where they had been before I moved them, then returned to a slightly better hiding spot under our bunkbeds, and watch as he pulled mom into the room. The look on her face when started trying to convince her off what he'd seen was perfect. She looked in my direction, I think seeing me (or perhaps just sensing) in my hiding place and smiled, but played along. I think he confronted later, I think a few years after, and I fessed up, but *for a time*, there was a bit of real magic in his life. Rest in peace, brother. I miss you.

I very much approve of all of the Awwnold content. This man shows that you can both be Mr. Universe, an actor, a politician, one of the old-school exhibits of "what a man should be", and still be a properly decent and emotionally expressive human being. Like, imagine pumping iron and being a cheeky, snarky dude to the other bodybuilders (referencing the old interview he did before being made Mr. Universe and simultaneously being scouted for his role in Conan the Barbarian) and still being a hardcore pet lover and posting on r/Aww with all of your new fur babies. Arnold's a real champ. As far as snakes go, as someone with experience in owning snakes: they are indeed cold-blooded. But that means that they need heat more than warm-blooded creatures. That's why snakes need lamps/extra heating, so the sweater is actually a good thing for Spaghetti to have. Karma (our Burmese Python) legit always attacks his lamp (Danger Banana isn't the brightest crayon in the box, and has a very fitting name/nickname) so we have to set the heat high to compensate some nights. This is, indeed, the safest video on KZread, minus the talk of Ein and her cheeky, naughty behaviours. 😂

This means they are more likely to suffer from hypothermia unless they can warm themselves some other way, such as sunbathing. That's also why you don't find lizards in cold climates. In the case of Spaghetti, the sweater helps him keep warm 🐍

Only if he was already warm. Since he isn't producing his own heat, it'd actually make it slower to warm up if he was cold to start.
