my problem with all these keyboards is they're just variations of the same thing, i wish more of these keyboards did something unique like offer split spacebar which can reduce a lot of fatigue if you map one of them to the shift key for example.
@majutsush1

Split spacebar would also help the sound, spacebar is usually the loudest key

My friend has a keyboard with a split space bar and he really likes it. I know nothing about custom keyboards though so I don't know what it is

Facts. Prebuilts should basically include at LEAST a silicone dampening mat by default, and some kind of gasket mount. The more layouts the better

The Launch keyboards from System76 do have a split spacebar if that's something you're interested in.
The black transparent version looks really lovely. That smoked dark look with the diffused RGB...very attractive in my opinion!

I have a brush from my cameras I use for my keyboard and desk items
I literally just got this board today. I got the zx75 dark side but the RS one with the transparent keycaps and my goodness does it look great! I also got it with the ttc silent frozen switches and when I say the typing experience is truly silent and feels wonderful to the touch for a pre made custom board. I have not seen any reviews of it yet so I just took a shot and I am happy to have done it! For my first custom keyboard I am having a great experience!
love that you guys have been doing keyboard reviews
TTC Aces are absolutely one of the best feeling linear switches I've ever touched. I have them in my keyboard right now and love them to death. They are on the clackier side, but you can get deeper pitches out of them depending on the case you have them in. I highly recommend them to anyone. The silvers they make are excellent as well, but I prefer the heavier switch.
Been loving these keyboard video reviews lately. Just getting into the hobby and will have my first board this Christmas so I’m excited anytime I see Short Circuit review one. I’m curious though…Has he mentioned what his what his daily driver, dream board and/or favorite boards are? Would be cool to have a live with a build.
I currently have the IQUNIX L80 Formula. Similar but none transparent case. Working perfectly
i have a f97. i have had many different types of expensive keyboards by a lot of brands and this one blows them all out of the water. Ive had the iquinix f97 for exactly one year now and im still amazed by it. Im still absolutely in love in love in love with this keyboard its insane. oh and ive never had to charge it since ive bought it! 1 year on one charge! and its currently at 20%!!!!!
My ideal keyboard is something between this and the Nuphy Air75. I do like that this keyboard is somewhat a lower profile than normal mechanical keyboards but I would have prefer if it was even lower profile like Nuphy Air75. I personally prefer plastic casing as long as it is study because I don't like heavy keyboards. I would prefer shine through keycaps which Nuphy now offers. But I prefer the keys layout of this keyboard with the slight separation of the function keys, arrow keys and pgup, pgdown, home, end, delete keys and knob; because they provide additional tactile positioning. Additional wishful functionality for backlit keyboards is a dedicated mechanical toggle switch; that will turn on/off all back-lights together; since they can be distracting. And optical key switches would be the other plus. I would also prefer if it has double angled feets like Keychron keyboards.
We really need more. I want a full breakdown on what our best options are in this space. I'm having a very hard time picking one out. I can't afford to just keep building them till I find one that I love the most.

This / epomaker th80 / nuphy new boards w silent breeze are all solid options that are not too expensive 😅. I won’t say they are cheap bc they are still under 1-180 , mostly under 200$ BUT when you compare it to other keyboard community stuff it’s cheap + any razer Logitech crap etc will come w that $ tag or higher. My first board that i loved what epomaker th80 w lubed Gateron pro blacks & I loved it Idk if that helps but cheers 🍻 & gl !

id go for a keychron q1 if youre looking for a 75 percent keyboard. have one now and im in love with it.
that nerdforge build in the background makes me happy
Love the clear plastic look.
The keycaps I have are KDA and I like the shape. They're just a hair rounder than typical keycaps which helps it stand out just a little more
Dude that space sounds scrumptious
The layout and the key cap design is so so much similar to the keychron k2
I got the white vers of the IQUNIX ZX75 and swapped the switches and caps as well as lubed the stabs + did a tape mod. The white case isn’t see through and comes with a little bit of foam. The 2.4 GHz wireless was really important to me for games and I’m in love with my current board setup now!
I want a 10 key on mine. But for that much money I'd print my own case and wire up the keys myself. I'd have left over money to put a raspberry pi in it and have user selectable keying modes, like stenography output if I wanted.
Set of LTT keycaps coming perhaps?
I wonder if you could paint the 'inside' of the green one to make it better.
75% is the perfect form factor. I have a Matias tactile pro mini that I hope will work until I die. The nicest tactile switches in the nicest form factor. At least for a typist.
I own a cat, her favorite spot is on my desk and halfway on top of my keyboard. I take the keyboard apart and clean it at LEAST once a week because of her and often have to use a brush that came in a Glorious Mouse-cleaning kit. I completely understand the enthusiasm for a keyboard coming with a brush.
Can you please review a full keyboard? It's been quite a while
Really happy with the Epomaker th80. Its such a complete, good sounding keyboard imo
Points at picture of a sausage "There's a moon..."
I like the transparent look!
I can't believe an enthusiast didn't have a cleaning cloth and a brush.
I kind of prefer the shape of the og80, with the f-row that is angled towards the user.
If you like those caps you would enjoy GMK Camping and Camping in Japan, some of my favorite keycaps.
The camping version would suit Firewatch really well :D
The F1-12 buttons are slightly higher on KDA profile, which is really nice if you ask me. I hate on 75% keyboards where the F1-12 keys are lower than the number keys, stupid design if you ask me. The SA and TAI HAO profiles looks promising to me, need to check those out! Great review!
I've had the tan L80 version of this one and the brand has become my primary prebuilt option I recommend for people. The overall quality is better than every other prebuilt brand, has all the features for everybody, and as an enthusiast I can say all the nerdy keyboard needs are met.

@@Theplak Nuphy has less models overall, but their quality seems good too. I rely on their Air75 + folio case for my work travel needs and am really enjoying it.
Looks cool. I don't see anything to take me away from my Favorite, the Nuphy Air75
I have the og80 wormhole.. Coolest board I have owned. Might otfer the og80 black version as well to collect hehe. The angled f row keys is such a cool design.
I'm surprised I'm thinking or saying this, but I really like the look of that green one with the RGB glowing. At least how it looks on my monitor. In person it probably looks slightly different so 🤷♂
Colors look cool. I must admit though I don't like the sound of most higher-end keyboards they kind of give me a headache though entirely personal preference. I like even $5 keyboards sound more
Yup I got an iqunux board. Because it is wireless there is no cable on my desk for it. They have other models which are cool as well.
My man! How neat is that? That's pretty neat!
When I saw him barely able to fit his hand in that plastic baggie thing and struggling to get it out, I only imagined the turtles suffocating underwater with the same bag
Would love if this had a full-size 101/102 key version.

Hey Plouffe, you're not alone on the brush! I keep a 3/4 inch glaze wash paintbrush (unused) on my desk for cleaning out the stray dog and beard hair
I like the Iqunix design. I do think the price is a little bit high. If it was like $30 cheaper id think it was great. But for a pre-built fully hotswappable board its not that bad. Its a great entry into custom mech keyboards. But it has to compete with the GMMK Pro, Drop Ctrl, and Keychron stuff but I do think it is more feature rich than the Ctrl and Keychron and even the GMMK pro in the wireless thing. But if you're using this for gaming wireless probably isn't a deal breaker for you on your keyboard unlike a mouse. I have had my eye on the OG80 and L80 for a while and ZX75 now is something I am really considering just because I want the wheel. I love 75-80% keyboards. I use f row keys way too often to use a 65%. So I am glad you guys reviewed it.
One thing, please use the wireless connectivity options while test typing on keyboards that offers it and comment on the latency. There are very, I mean very few low latency wireless 2.4 mechanical keyboard in the market. I really want to buy one Iqunix board. My gripe with Iqunix is that they don't have layers, and most of their keyboards do not support remapping. For the same price melgeek seems better, melgeek is fully programmable.
4:38 "it is like a moon" I am pretty sure that is a hot dog LMAO
Considering the Keychron V-series is available in transparent black and can be built up and tuned up for less, I dunno if I can justify the price point. I do like the green one as it sits, though; that aesthetic is absolutely my jam.
@z4k1_zaki65

I think it's all up to you if you really need the wireless connectivity since Keychron's V series doesn't come with any wireless connectivity
I am very interested in the 98 keys configuration now. I need Numpad for my workflow. My current keyboard is a 100 keys configuration, but the arrow keys are hard to locate and the F row is hard to distinguish because all the keys are close to each other without any space. To make things worse. My language requires tons of picking the right character through arrow keys. There is a rising trend of 98 keys now. It keeps spaces between the F row and left grooves between arrow keys and Numpad. I'm looking forward to some 98 keys with both BT and 2.4G connection.
I really like their wormhole version of this keyboard
Thank god most modern keyboards use USB-C as the port on the device itself.
I know it's supposed to be camp themed but the colors kind of look like Master Chief themed
The only retro style keyboard I would even consider buying would be one designed like the ZX Spectrum with the old rubber keys.
Can we get video about keyboard switches? Or how to build one?
I live in ecuador, it is incredibly dusty over here. I never considered getting a keyboard brush. I always just tore apart my keyboard every week to clean it.
Was just looking at these last evening. Couldn't justify the price. I ended up getting a TKL Royal Kludge board. I've had 2 in the past and the price on Amazon was unbeatable for a hotswap capable BT/2.4/wired board. Maybe I'll try something by Iqunix next time I get the itch to play with a new board.

I really like all the keyboard content lately. I've already built pretty much my perfect keyboard, but I still enjoy keyboard videos and I like that these videos let the average gamer know that there's a world beyond cherries and cherry clones
Would guys be able to review the AK966 please? Thank you!
I do not have pets in the house, nor do I live in a particularly extra-dusty environment. I still keep a small brush on my desk so I can brush off my keyboard. I have to do it almost daily or it drives me insane. Small brushes like that should be a standard accessory for a keyboard. Makes perfect sense to me.
What switches are in the black board i love that sound

If you like the see-through look, take a look at novelkeys' NK87 Entry Edition or the NK65 Entry Edition. I have one of each and love the heck out of them. Bonus note: they come with silicone dampening and a fairly nice braided cable!

the transparent green just reminds me of the halo themed og xbox
The green one would look nice if the transparent was old apple beige plastic
that green keyboard looks rly nice and cute
My Logitech K310 Washable Keyboard had a brush too. A bit barebonse in comparision ;)
Wooting is a good 60% keyboard sound and feels good for about the same 200+ price. however, it's a pre-order and typically takes 3+ months to get
Good video over all. Subjective... but when I think of retro, i think Model M/Typewriter types of keyboards. =)
I've had the lime 80. Bests my gmmk pro anyway. Best sounding prebuilt
iQunix boards ship with co-star stabilizers, which are way better stock than standard Cherry stabs, though they are a nightmare to mod.
they are NOT called clip in stabilizers, they are called plate mount, clip in is where they are screw in holes and stuff, but there are little plastic pegs instead of screws
hey, have you tried the moondrop dash yet? i'm waiting for your review about it
can you guy check out the wooting keyboard been hearing its really good
Can you please do a Marshall speaker review
2.4 Wireless is a HUGE advantage over Bluetooth. Bluetooth adds significant latency and it not really available until your OS boots up. 2.4 GHz wireless adds a ton of flexibility. Many keyboards are "wireless" but almost always they are Bluetooth which is nowhere near as useful. There aren't that many keyboards on the market that can do both and are still decent keyboards. Especially with a 1000Hz polling rate, it's probably good enough wireless for gaming. Too bad it's pretty ugly, but it is definitely functional.
Loving all the keyboard videos! You can see the excitement in Plouffe's eyes when he talks about the keyboards, and he knows a lot about it, I'm learning a lot from him. Plus, with all due respect, he is just so attractive...

Before someone run out and buy one, I just want to share one small piece of information. This is a mainland Chinese company, based in Shenzhen.
Did you try the f97?
Really should have taken spacebar off and looked at the stabs, a lot of iquinix boards use costar stabs which are a pain to tune. Pros and cons to it, but definitely should have included it.
It actually kind of vexes me that keyboard manufacturers still aren’t making USB C wireless adapters
The best wireless keyboard right now is, without a doubt, nuphy's halo line.
Pink and green🤌. I can't abide yellow, though. I've been thinking about a wireless keyboard for my laptop, so if they were hot swappable switches, I'd at least wishlist it for consideration. That price is not an option right now though, especially given the costs to further bring it around.
Wish it came in ISO layout
“It comes with a BRUSH!?!” Alright, that’s pretty fantastic, not gonna lie. I feel your enthusiasm Plouffe
You should review the mode sonnet it’s now an instock board that beats majority of these group buy keyboard
Amazon link is super wrong (at least the one forwarding to UK amazon page).
Liking custom keyboards is like liking brand shoes. You don't use them at all or you're overprotective about them, just because they looks "pretty" and they are expensive for no reason. It's just another trend, nothing more
