I hold the same sentiment towards all these award shows, and that is that they will never be able to quantify how much you enjoyed the content of that year. That’s really the only thing that you’ll ever truly know anyways, like even if you and a thousand other people vote for the same show, you’ll never truly understand why those other people like the show.

If I remember correctly a show is only eligible if it ends before the end of the year. Frieren won't be eligible because it's still airing, jjk season 2 ended in December which made it eligible. Frieren will 100% be on the ballot next year.

i just want akiba maid war to win best original anime man. that show was so unique and creative and deserved a lot more attention also do it yourself for best slice of life, arima kana for best supporting character, and bocchi for aoty would be nice too

For a show to be eligible, it needs to have aired in that year, but they exclude fall altogether and push them to the next year. which is why fall 2022 show appear in this years nominations.
