None of the canonical Gospels record the Nativity of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The earliest record to document her birth is the 2nd-century apocryphal gospel of James. According to this source, Mary’s parents were Joachim and Anne. They were childless for many years but following a miraculous visit of an angel Anne conceived Mary. This event, marked as the immaculate conception, has become a principal (Dogma) in the Catholic church and is celebrated on December 8th.
Where was Mary Born?
Since the time of the Crusaders, the birthplace of Mary is marked in a crypt under a large-scale church in Jerusalem, next to the Pools of Bethesda. The impressive Romanesque-style church built over the birth spot is still intact. Named “Saint Anne Church”, It is one of the best examples of Ecclesiastical architecture from the Crusaders’ times in the Holy Land. It is not clear when the Greek-Orthodox church developed an alternative site for Mary’s birth, but it is very close to Saint Anne’s Church. The entrance is from the street connecting Lion’s gate to the Via Dolorosa. A humble sized chapel on the street level enables group prayers and contemplation. A set of small caves beneath the chapel include a cavity identified as Mary’s birthplace.
Beneath the church, there is a crypt carved in the rock, in which the Orthodox believe is the actual birthplace of the Virgin Mary.

    Dear friend I pray that one day you will be converted to the One True Faith. You will become a child of Our Blessed Mother Mary. I too was like you a Hindu but through the intercession of our Blessed Mother I became a Catholic. I was received into the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church which Our Lord Jesus Christ founded. It was the happiest day of my life. Please pray to our Blessed Mother she loves you just like she love her beloved Son Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior. Please ask her to intercede for you. For your conversion. And please read a Holy Catholic Bible. Pray also to the Holy Spirit and ask for his Divine Light and all the grace that you need. I recommend wearing a Miraculous Medal if you can get one. Have it Bless by a priest first. God bless. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

    Beautiful, thank you. We did not see this when we were there. Our guide was Arab or Palestinian Catholic from north of Haifa. He was at least in his sixties. Nice man. We had three priests of the SSPX and got to stay at the Notre Dame hotel in Jerusalem. What a memorable experience. I had been in a Latin Rite seminary in my early days but never though I would go to the Holy Land. We were with Regina pilgrimages.

  • @P.Whitestrake

    @P.Whitestrake

    Жыл бұрын

    @@frankpabon8329 Why not? Have you ever ask your parents or your friends to pray for you at some point of your life? I bet you do. Everybody does, even if they're not Christians. It's the same concept, just different objects. We can still pray by ourselves just fine, but it's not wrong to ask other person to pray for us, especially to the saints/people who's been proven to be sanctified through their perserverance in Jesus Christ. Also remember, those who believe in Jesus don't die. Their souls still exist in paradise & they're pretty much alive. Mother Mary doesn't die. According to the early Christian tradition, before she passed away, she said that she will always pray for us. So we're not asking for prayer to a dead person/being.

    The Holy Virgin was born in the same house of Nazareth She lived in with Jesus andJoseph, it's the house of Her venerable Mother and Father Anne and Joachim. After the death of the Holy Virgin's parents, the house was abandoned until the marriage of Mary and Joseph, Joseph renovated the house and built an extension to it within a grotto. In reality, nothing left the way it was, a lot of buildings and Churches were built over many sites multiple times that changed the geography of Palestine and Judea.

    It is amazing how many structures from the first century are built in caves--and yet the bible/torah never states that these structures are 'caves'...so, you do not get that picture in your head when you are reading the bible--I only get that picture from your tours--that is why your tours are so important in order to get a clear picture of how Jesus actually lived (and it was not an easy life)...your tours bring into focus more clearly that these people were an ancient cave dwelling people (like the ancient town in Turkey)...far more than any of the later buildings would show us...dts/usa

    Jesus never said worship me I am God. He said worship your God and my God. He was a blessed messenger from a virgin birth which is the miracle and he spoke from the cradle. This is evident in the old scriptures. The notion of calling him God came about 300 years after his death. Read your history. This is also in the Vatican. The notion of the trinity was introduced by Constantine. Again the evidence is available to support this.

    @@NAT-wv7jq Please have respect for other religions. The statements you make comes from Islam and not Christianity. Where did Jesus say "I am only a prophet, don't worship me," in those exact words? Revelation 21:7 The overcomers will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be My children. Jesus is called God John makes it clear at the beginning of his Gospel that Jesus is God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” (John 1:1,14) In the letters of Paul, Peter, and John, Jesus is called God. “Christ...Who is God, above all, to be praised for ever. Amen!" (Romans 9:5) “…the great God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13) “…our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:1) "….Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20) Thomas one of Jesus' disciples calls Jesus God. Jesus accepted Thomas' testimony without reproach. “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). If Thomas was wrong, or misexpressed, or exaggerated, Jesus would surely have reproved him. If Jesus were not really God, Thomas would have gone astray. But Thomas spoke the truth, Jesus is the Lord God, the only One who exists from eternity. Jesus has names that belong only to God. Strong God, Eternal Father “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…And His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:5) Only the Lord God Himself could be the fulfillment of these Names. Strong God. The one prophesied to be the Messiah had to be God Himself. Eternal Father. Jesus said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). The first and the last “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God.” (Isaiah 44:6) “And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to each as his work shall be. I am the Alpha, and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last" (Revelation 22:12,13) God calls himself in Isaiah the First and the Last. There is no other God besides Him. Jesus also calls himself the First and the Last in Revelation. You call Me Master and Lord (Greek: Kurios), and you say it rightly, for it is I.” (John 13:13) All Jews in Jesus' time were familiar with the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the Septuagint. In it the Hebrew word Yahweh (God) is without exception translated as the word Kurios (Lord). For the Greek-speaking Jews, therefore, the word "Kurios" in the Bible was equivalent to the word "God." In the above verse of John 13, Jesus claims that He is rightly given the same divine Name and Title as the God of the Old Testament. In the New Testament, the disciples repeatedly use the word "Kurios" to indicate the greatness of Jesus. Thus, in the Old and New Testaments, no distinction is made between the name of Jesus and the name of God. He is eternal “And you, Bethlehem-ephratha...from you shall come Me who shall be ruler in Israel. Its origins are from of old, from everlasting days” (Micah 5:1). Only God is eternal. omnipresent “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20). Omnipresence is an attribute of God Almighty alone. Angels or humans are not. Jesus promises to be present in every place at the same time. He can only promise this if He is God. All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). This is beyond the power of humans, spirits, angels, demons or extraordinary humans. Omnipotence is also a quality that only the Lord God Almighty possesses.

    @@NAT-wv7jq You obviously are as ignorant of the scriptures as the Pharisees were. Jesus fulfilled over 340 scriptures. He didn't say he is GOD? You have shamed yourself by your remark. Go and read the Bible .

    No one would be here today had she not replied, “ be it done unto me according to thy word”. Her encounter with St Gabriel was the perfect opposite as Eve’s with the devil. One woman brought destruction and darkness and Mary brought forth life and light….Ave Maria

    May even in these end times, if it is the will of the most high. That the Anne's and Joachim of our times be blessed by Saint archangel Gabriel to give to empty homes the full joy of a precious reason to praise the living God everyday. And Holly Gabriel if our Quenn finds it fair, make the eternal book of Tobias true in each empty Tobias and empty Sarah. Holly Gabriel show us how to make our elders see again, deliver us from the monster fish and deliver us all from asmodeus. Give us poor bags of flesh a way to avoid to be useless witch noone deserves. All glory to the living God.
