This pedal was an absolute lifesaver when I was in a cover band. We had several songs down tuned and rather than lug 5 guitars around I'd turn a knob to change overall tuning.

@@polytrave ricochet/whammy doesn't have as much processing power /computation as drop, so they will give you latency and warpness to your guitar as they're not meant for a "always on" pitch shifting.

The greatest pedal format pitch shifting algorithms out there still. The Ricochet is amazing too which I would recommend as superior giving you the ability to slide in and out of the pitch shifter at adjustable speeds if desired. Amazing kit.

I've just got one of these and it's a godsend. I can play some Queens of the Stone Age in C standard and then simply turn the dial and play Electric Wizard in B standard 🤘

Back in the days i owned the orig. Whammy with the divebombs,whamming.This is also cool when you only in the Downtuning.

If I had to get rid of all but one of my pedals, this is the one I’d keep. I use it literally every single time I play guitar because I play in a variety of different tunings. It’s literally a godsend

We used this in my band (both lead guitar player and bass). Worked great. We used this when playing songs that were half step down (eg Van Halen). We’d call it code red songs (on account of the LED).

I got the whammy dt, and its my favorite pedal i own. The ability to just have 2 or 3 guitars and be able to play pretty much every song that's on a 6 string is amazing

Yeah it would be cool for sure. But then they couldn’t call it the “Drop” pedal.. 🙈 I’m honestly surprised that they didnt include that though. 🤷🏻♂️ 🤘🏼😜
I can also recommend the Hotone Harmony. It can both droptune between 1-12 & 24 semitones and up tone,as well as detune (maybe 60 cent, idk). Also it gives the possibility to emulate a 12 string guitar as you can set the dry as well as the wet output. And the best thing: it is cheap as fuck.

I bought mine 2 yrs ago and it is a blessing... i play modern metal, you know how hard it is trying to re-tune to 4 different tunings? It Sucks, big time..... but with this pedal, its soooooo fuckin simple. Best pedal I have.

The only downside is that it sucks out a lot of highs and gain but it does it's job if you need something fast instead of changing guitar every 2 seconds

That's the only negative of the pedal really. You have to make sure your amp is louder than your guitar strings or use headphones.

I’ve used the OG Whammy for years, i loved it but it was HUGE on my board AND it required its own power supply (i don’t think the newer ones do… 🤔) but it was great. I’ve never had the chance to mess with the Ricochet, maybe one day. 🤘🏼😜
So many recordings of music have been either in a lower tuning, it made it difficult to learn... this pedal has helped a lot.

Better than this pedal? No. Other than larger much more powerful processors like Kemper, Axe FX and Quad Cortex.. but really, the Drop still tracks just as well. 🤘🏼😜

I just mean it should be placed in a the beginning of your chain along side pedals thats dont effect your sound like Gates and Tuners. 🤘🏼😜

Well… it is a pitch shifter. Thats exactly what it does. You might mean “its a whammy pedal with less features” and that would be kind of true. This feature is on the Whammy Drop. But this pedals is a much more space efficient and statistically more sought after tool than a whammy is. 🤘🏼😜

Is that the Epiphone Matt heafy custom? Had one of those was cracks in body all over very bad quality ended up swapping for the prophesying custom

I have never messed with one but it seems like the Ricochet changes your pitch both Up and Down. And it does it in transitionary way. As opposed to just being instant like the Drop. Its a Ricochet Effect so it Bounces I would assume. 🤘🏼😜

Fairly clean. It has minimal latency until you start to push it too far. 2-4 steps may be as far as you can really go without hearing flub. 🤘🏼😜

It will. It works in Semi-tone increments of whatever tuning you’re using. So if you’re in Drop D, use 2 Semi-Tones and you’ll be in Drop C. 🤘🏼😜

It will for sure! But just like Guitar, you may only get a Step or two before it starts to not sound amazing.. if you’re going for a Half to a Whole Step down, I think you’ll be okay. Beyond that… it will get questionable.. 🤘🏼😜

It could.. F is kinda silly… you’re almost better off just tuning to standard and playing the same notes that they are technically. For instance with my band Aphelion, we have songs where I tune my guitar Drop E on a 7 string. Which is like an Octave Tuning. But we dont tune the Bass down that low. It just plays standard E. And it works perfectly. 🤘🏼😜

How will I explain to my wife why I need so many different guitars ? Do I have this right ? so once I lock my nut and fine tune my Floyd say in standard tuning I can use this to drop down to D standard once I step on the pedal? Click off and back to standard tuning ? Damn I’m not a pedal guy I just use my amp for for my gain and what not but I have to get this if it’s cheap Enough.

You can find them second hand for cheaper all over the place. Also sites like ➡️ www.zzounds.com have credit "No Credit" payment plans. So like 6 months of $17 or something. There are NO EXCUSES!! 😈 🤘🏼😜

When you drop it lower than 2 semitones you definitely start to hear the processing. But you won't find a transposition pedal that does the job any better until you get into AxeFx / Kemper Realm. These processors have the power to process the info "better" and so faster. Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼😜

I think its a bit more versatile than just those genres. I think it works great for pretty much any genre that doesn’t require super super clean guitar tones. I feel like the processing is most noticeable when playing super clean. 🤘🏼😜

The only setting you should hear 2 pitches is the 50/50 Octave setting.. Do you hear on all of the other settings? If so, something is wrong. Lemme know. 🤘🏼😜

If the sound is bleeding through in your amps signal path, than the pedal is defective. Are you also hearing your guitar naturally from the guitar itself? Like “acoustically”? Then you just need to turn up the volume on your amp or use headphones.. Thinkin that might be part of the issue.. Sorry you’re having trouble with it… Let us know how it goes. 🤘🏼😜
