#keybored This Is The Craziest Keyboard I've Seen! AM AFA by Angry Miao
There are some expensive keyboards out there... then there is the AM AFA by Angry Miao... this thing is $800. It's the weirdest, craziest keyboard I have seen in a while... I mean, do you expect any less from the makers of the Cyberboard? But this thing has the unique ability to adjust the firmness of typing... I mean that is worth it right? You be the judge!

You should make a video acknowledging all the great boards so far. Kinda like MKBHD's Smartphone of the Year but for keyboards. Best budget, best premium, best 65%, etc.
Yay, physics again in a keybored video! Made intuitive sense that the leaf length would increase softness, but it was great to see the math behind it. This particular board isn't my style, but it's great to see more unique design and function in the hobby.

AM boards feel more like art than even most other “luxury” keyboards. They’re super sick and if I had money for them I would likely get this AFA for a display piece.

Crazy board. Thanks for the best educational keyboard videos in the game. 8:51 I think the "feels softer" and "feels stiffer" are reversed. as well as the arrow diagrams.

Not fan of the aesthetics of the keyboard but the engineering in the flex is very interesting. Also that typing sound is really good!

This video was amazing. Good intro, informative video and good sound tests. Very nice Keybored. Tbh 800 dollars would be a little too much so I hope they will make a V2 that's like 500 dollars and really similar to the V1. I'd love to own one of these because I'm such a nerd for complicated/strange keyboards but the price...

Awesome video! I wanted to ask if you are still currently using that handheld Gateron switch opener. I've heard it has problems with long pole switches, especially long pole frankenswitches with a POM/Milky bottom.
I look forward to more skeleton frame keyboard cases like this.

MACROSS!!!!! Such a sick anime and was one of my favorites growing up. Such a sick colorway and the design is definitely unique that others have something similar but not nearly the same. Thanks as always Scott for showing us what part of our body we need to sacrifice to get this. It didn't have to be our kidney's right?
@Keybored

If only it can do MACROS, instead of using their closed software that is very lacking. I sort of get the closed software for the cyberboard but this doesn't have a complicated led display...
Great vid as always!! Thoughts on the Machenike KT68?? I saw this on shopee and it looks like a budget cyberboard! Kinda curious about how it can be modded
This video makes me want it more. And also makes me realize i really cant afford it lol. Great video!!!🎉
This keyboard is extremely innovative, it might not be perfect right now but im sure future board designers will be taking many notes from this board
Will you be doing one on the AM Compact Less? It’s sacrilege to true HHKB but I think it has some really cool features to bring the HHKB aesthetic to those who would otherwise never commit to the layout.
Hi Scott can you make a guide for how to order a custom fr5 plate from one of the major pcb manufacturers? There aren't any youtube guides on this and I think you would be the perfect person to do such a guide. Loving the videos
Really loved my cyberboard aesthetic. Purchased the terminal, had PCB issues since day one (pcb randomly restarts, despite flashing/resetting). Submitted over 3 tickets on their website, never got a response to any of them and gave up. While I love what agrymiao is doing, I can't say I could ever justify purchasing another at that pricepoint. Also the software was a real pain unfortunately. Sorry! Just trying to share my experiences with customer support as a possible red flag!

I love me some Keybored Physics Lessons
I have many keyboards but only one kidney. After joking about how expensive custom keebs have been since the pandemic started, I finally realized a kidney transplant will cost all the free keybored from last year and some lube.
I love the clean sound, just wish they made a standard keyboard
If ever I'll be in a situation where I can buy a high-end board, I would seriously consider this.

I'm surprised that there was no mention of the crazy right shift key placement. It's on the other side of the arrow keys!
@wkang2758
Жыл бұрын
Probably because it isn’t exactly innovative. Some fairly recent boards that use the same right shift placement include the sneakbox AVA and Owlab spring.
Yo, I am misunderstanding something in the math and science, or does it look like you visually mixed up the diagram at 8:50? Isn't the soft setting supposed to have more torque and hence more leaf flex, thus making it feel softer? Eitherway, I always love the science lessons to help explain these design choices.

I prefer a solid metal base, DO NOT Drill my keyboard base to a rack. And selling a $300 keyboard carrying case instead.
The design is pretty cool, and as a fellow designer I admire the attention to detail, its just too bad its an alice layout.. They should have gone for a more conventional split like the dygma raise, keebio sinc, or quefrency or gone all they way and made it an actually ergo, column-stagger layout. I'll save you the rant, but the alice layout is *yikes* when it comes to ergonomics.

Hi I am trying to make my first keyboard thocky but as I have finished it became clacky I cannot message you directly for help so I must resort to this I have an AKKO MOD008 All foams included Poly Plate tho I resorted to Gateron Milky Yellow Pro as my first switch it became loud and claky I have watched your clacky vs thocky build but I think I have tried the same approach as your thocky build but still got clacky sounds so I am trying to resort to switches and keycaps but for now I will go for switches I watched your comparisons as I have 3 choices; Aqua Kings, Gateron Oil Kings, and the Box Ink v2s. I hope you take time reading this and answer my question. Thank you and have a nice day.

Well this is a different one for sure. Interesting adjustable spring mounting. At this price point I would expect that middle part to be a customisable display for sure, display system resources, time, weather, gifs, etc or at least a mini pixel style display like cyber board. And this color way plus translucent keycaps and rgb looks somewhat off... Maybe in different colors... Anyway great video and bonus physics lesson (apart from inverted soft/hard feeling pictogram). Keep up the great content

The middle part contains the mainboard, bluetooth antenna, indication and reflection lights. If turning the middle part into a screen, the bluetooth connection has to be sacrificed.
With more Weeboards entering the market, it's only a matter of time before OwLabs takes a bite of the devil fruit.

I'm sure it's coming :)
TBH when you buy a custom keyboard from scratch and don't go the entry level route, custom KB can go from 400$ up to 650$ just for the housing, PCB and maybe 2 plates if lucky. Then you got to add switches, stabs, films, wristrest, Custom lemo cable, lube station, lube / tools, (solder iron + tools, if not going for hotswap) and if you want GMK keycaps you can add 500$+ easily on top of the former price. So yeah 800$ is a lot but when you compare that to building a premium custom keyboard from scratch you will actually spend less. BTW this kb looks interesting but not sure if this layout is worth 800$ for basically experimenting. PS: most people are going for budgets kb so you won't spend that much $ on a KB but for an enthusiast, he will spend a lot for sure, is it worth the money ? that depends from person to person. some spend on alcohol and woman some on cars some on gaming etc to each his own

It's pretty funny... Sometimes I buy 200-300 dollar keycaps or 200 dollars worth of switches and not think twice. Then I look at a $300 pair of headphones and think... Man that's expensive lol
