My current favorite is Men of war assault squad 2 however i completely wrote off call to arms when it came out since it had 0 content up until seeing this video i had no idea there was a ww2 dlc for it i might just have to give it a try now, thanks

I like to just say my start into RTS was age of empires 2 and i was very young about 6 years old i think so my list of RTS is kinda long. But my favorite RTS is the kingdom under fire series. For those that dont know its a RTS/Hack and slash game sent in the medieval period and yes it is fantasy cause elfs and dwarfs are present. played it when it was originally on the OG Xbox and when it came to PC I lost my mind and bought it instantly. Graphics look good for a early 2000s game and the battle music slaps for a 2000s game.

Steel Division 2 or Squad

Gates of hell is awesome. Having a decent dynamic campaign opens up any game so much

Glad you are giving this game some love! Absolutely the best WWII RTS. I get pretty attached to my guys in the dynamic campaign. Makes losing them that more dramatic in the later portions of the campaign.

The Men of War style RTS really set the bar for me with so much depth and detail on top of such an extensive modding community for MOW MOWAS2 and Gates of Hell some of whom have become official developers allowing them to make ridiculously well done community mods. Steel division came close but the fact every cannon had a long jet stream behind the projectile giving way your position really killed it for me.

I used to watch your dayz vids back in high school (years ago) I’m so happy I found your channel after so long

I wish the first call to arms got as much love, I honestly like both though considering its nice to be able to swap eras when you feel like it.

i dont care if this is or isnt sponsored, I have around 3500 hours in Call to arms gates of hell and it is the best RTS game! 10/10 the only downside is, base gane is meh and dlcs are expensive. If you want to get the game but not dlcs, i wouldnt recommend. I only recommend if you get all dlcs

@@bigmonke7661 That's the main reason I don't buy these games. The direct control ability is something I would never use and feel like it could disadvantage me vs someone that would use it.

@@SamuelDeLaTorre I would say on the modding side yes but the improvements to ostfront kinda outside the modding side of MOW2

It's so cool that these older games are as entertaining and sometimes even largely better from a gameplay perspective than the modern stuff being churned out.

I actually did not know about the game. Looks awesome though i will definately try it out! Thanks for presenting it!

I'm happy to see people playing and making videos about MACE I hope you guys like it. We are working on a new update for the mod that will bring interesting stuff.

You really got to check out Old Boy’s Vietnam mod….. totally changes and improves the conquest part of the game.

Yes, it is currently the best WW2 RTS by far. Comapny of Heroes with its HEALTH BARS on units just doesn't cut it after playing this one where penetrating the tank armor finishes a tank, hitting a soldier with a bullet either wounds or kills him.

It's another genre, CoH is classic arcade while gates of hell is more realistic. I used to play MoW saga (so satisfying) but in recent years I started appreciate coh, tons of fun and laugh. I got gates of hell, I hope to play it soon.

@@LordVader1094 since coh, it's totally unrealistic, based on skill and micro, you need to check every units compulsively, with high pacing action. Ok, it's not a StarCraft game but is more arcade than Men of War/Gates of Hell. I'm not saying it's bad (actually I'm full on coh2-coh3), but it's not the same rts genre

I honestly like some Action from Games like Men of War: Assault Squad 2, Call to Arms: Gates of Hell, Wargame: Red Dragon, Company of Heroes 3, WARNO, Regiments and Broken Arrow. Can't wait for when Sturmfurher brings the Dutch to Gates of Hell as we can hear @Sherman's Voicelines as he is Dutch himself. For The Gates of Hell Campaign, I'd try and Keep things as Historically Accurate as possible and use Panzer IV's, Panther's, Tiger's and King Tiger's for my Armor Support. I'd take the Pak 40 Anti-Tank Gun, the FlaK 38 20 millimeter Anti-Aircraft Gun (Single Barreled Version) and the Infamous FlaK 43 88 millimeter Anti-Aircraft Gun for Anti-Tank, Anti-Aircraft and Anti-Personnel Support along with Nebelwerfers, LeFH 18 10.5cm Howitzers, Panzerhaubitze IV 15cm Hummel's, sGW43 12cm and GW34 8cm Mortars as Artillery Support and Stug III G's and Panzer IV/70(V)'s to support when and wherever they can. For Air Support, I think you can never go wrong with either a Messerschmitt Bf-110C-4, a Focke-Wulf Fw-190A-8, a Henschel Hs-129B-3, or either the Junkers Ju-87D-4 Stuka or Ju-88A-4. As long as you can Maintain Control of the Skies, you'll be fine for the Foreseeable Future.

Got this game a week ago or so and it indeed is awsome.. But its Learning curve is quite steep before you master Controlls, looting weapons, building emplacements etc etc Literally the worst part about it is the stupidly long name.

I dont know if works for anyone else but the watch sponsor link doesnt work for me.

As a multiplayer guy my one big complain is that it has no matchmaking system. If it had one, it would be a star!

This game already have good single player replay ability and even better that the devs keep and keep updating it for years.

Anyone know what happened to Call to Arms base version? Like the only good thing to happen to it is this WW2 DLC - which I've personally loved playing props to the devs for there great support so far.

@@oliverpohlproductions8291 no shit but the Finland dlc for example is called GOH: Talvisota as opposed to GOH: Ostfront - Talvisota so they treat them as separate entity’s which just require the base game. It doesn’t mean that dlcs which cover other theatres are off the table. Open your mind a little😱

You need to try the mod conquest enhanced

Pro Tip: be sure to destroy the enemy's hardware completely before moving out of a mission, since even broken vehicles get taken back for repairs.

Gates of Hell is the one I want to love the most, but there are a few things that keep it from greatness, that will likely never get fixed. First and foremost is the bonehead AI 'logic'. Standing around while they are getting shot at, not taking the proper stance automatically, and vehicles that have to be HEAVILY micromanaged so they don't turn backwards toward the enemy, even though you have clearly given them a proper 'face' command. That, and they ruined the conquest mode with the latest update making it way too hard to win without losing your entire force. I do think they will fix that though. I used to rag on Combat Mission for it's 'TacAI', but it is miles ahead of GoH with respect to how units behave on their own. GoH would be the perfect game if they could fix the AI.

My honest review about this game: Pros: - graphic, game mechanism Cons: - music is decent, not excellent - quite poor optimization, still has lots of bugs, sometime lag spikes occur - skirmish missions & dynamic campaigns are kinda repetitive

Oh yea Germans definitely had a working muas tank 😂 it definitely fought in the war and didn't break down every 2 feet so they gave up

The concept of the game is good, but the AI is horrible, you have to micromanage other wise your army will die. another thigns is the camera in First person is kinda buggy, you can even go trough walls.

Broken AI is usually why I don't instantly buy these games. Even in MoWAS2, the AI will stop functioning after a while. it's a toss up whether the AI will function the entire game. CoH 2 AI cheats, but it's an energizer bunny. I had a stalemate skirmish last night against AI, 2 hours in, I had to end the game because it was taking that long to gain any type of ground. Next time I will just throw all my stuff at the fuel points.

Such a great game held back tremendously by endless jank and absolutely terrible AI. I wish the devs would get on top of smoothing out the rough edges because this game has always had SO much potential, especially with joke competition like company of heroes 3.

@@marinewillis1202 What, you don't like having to use function keys for all your orders? What about melee requiring you to target individual models with no attack move option for it? Or how about grenades requiring direct control to use otherwise the AI runs up to 2 feet from their target before throwing? I don't know what you're talking about, Men of War/Gates of Hell has the most user friendly controls and AI of any RTT/RTS!

Sorry COH is the king. Pair that with the Blitzkrieg mod and it is untouchable.

I hate it. I line up 4 infantry squads 2 of them elite with tanks behind them and finnish infantry push through no problem and kill the tanks it's stupid logic
