An honest review of the Makita 18V jobsite fan after 6 years of service and use. This fan is exceptional and has taken more drops, bangs and bumps than I care to admit. It’s robust and sturdy and runs perfect every time I turn it on.

Its amazing how sometimes a simple tool can be so important. I like that this is the only fan that can fold and be stored away much easier than a "normal" fan. Thanks for sharing.

How does it compare to a plug in fan? Does it produce good flow at some distance? I need one for when I have to get in an attic for water heaters or gas repairs

All I gathered from this video is that it's durable. You should give the DeWalt fan a try. Best airflow, best runtime, whisper quiet, and allows you to plug an extension cord to it.

Milwaukee is way stronger then the dewalt. Dewalt is quieter but Milwaukee is just as quiet when its on medium, about the same air speed as dewalt on high. Although Dewalt seems more reliable. I still have mine that I bought when there 1st came out, its beatup, but works like new. I have 2 Milwaukee and the both work, but they both have a loud rattle (sounds like a peice of plastic). You have to give em a few shakes to get it to stop.

@@johnd5542dude you crazy!Ive seen reviews on all these fans and dewalt always ranks top and Milwaukee doesn’t even make it to the top 3…Like I always say”im not loyal to any brand, only the tool” but when it comes to fans the dewalt smashes the Milwaukee by far!Let’s be honest here and not be bias!

@jayp8130 Im crazy? Lol Thats funny because I actually own them and have 1st hand experience and knowledge. I have 8 portable fans. 3 of them are Milwaukee M18, 2 dewalts, and a few other models (Makita being my favorite). I use them at work a lot. You have seen some reviews on the internet and believe you have a relevant opinion, and Im the crazy one? Since you are so well informed on this matter, how about you go to Depot, buy both, test them and make a video. You can return them afterward so you dont lose money. If the Dewalt is stronger, I will send you the cost of both fans. If the milwaukee is stronger, you pay me $100. What say you Mr Portable Fan Guru?

@johnd5542 I have to disagree here. I have them all and my favorites are Dewalt, Ryobi, Milwaukee and last is this Makita because of the loud sound. Dewalt is by far the best. Quieter, most air flow, best battery performance and is waterproof and very strong.

@cruzfelix2747 Id agree that the dewalt is best for most. But I guess it depends what is best for you. Hands down dewalt has best battery life, best battery capacity, quietest and so far the most reliable. For me, I have a ton of batteries so I dont mind changing batteries every few hours. I also work in noisy environments, so I dont care about noise. The makita blows air at a wider angle, so when im in a boom/sissor lift or my wood shop, i get air when Im not directly in front, and I like its small foot print. Also, I use makita tools the most (impact and circ/plunge saws). The down side is they dont have big batteries for 18v. I use dewalt mostly for heavy work (hammer drill, big saws, grinder ..60v killing it). I use milwaukee for their trim guns, lights, heavy metal circ saw, and they have the biggest variety of task specific tools. I own a commercial carpentry business, so I have bought almost every cordless tool from the main platforms (not trying to boast), its often more headache than pleasure). I always have a trailer on site, so I have the ability to pick the brand I like specifically for the task at hand. I have zero brand loyalty, lol. All of my dewalts fans have been weaker. But I have had them since they 1st came out, maybe the newer ones are stronger, or mine are a bit worn. I dont know. But my milwaukee fans are like lasers of wind directly in front of them. They are great for drying spackle and moving air to small rooms like bathrooms. Thats just my experience......to each their own.
