This is Wadi Shab. Wadi’s are valleys or dry riverbeds that are found especially in the Middle East and North Africa. 🏜️⛰️
Wadi Shab is located in the Al Sharqiyah region of Oman. It is a 2-hour drive from Muscat, so it is a popular day trip destination.
Wadi’s are famous for their stunning natural beauty, with rock formations, plants, waterfalls and pools. 🗿🌲🏊‍♀️
Wadi’s provide a fresh contrast to the surrounding desert landscapes and are the top tourist attractions here in Oman as they provide shade and water in the desert. 🐪🌵
Wadi Shab holds cultural significance in Oman, as it has been used by locals for centuries for agriculture and as a gathering place. 🧍‍♀️🧍🧍‍♂️
The highlight of Wadi Shab is reaching the hidden waterfall, which can be accessed by swimming through a short, narrow passage.

Next up, I take you to the Bimmah Sinkhole. also known as Hawiyat Najm Park, which is located on the northeastern coast of Oman,
It was formed naturally due to the collapse of a large underground cave.
The sinkhole is filled with turquoise blue-green water, which is a result of a combination of fresh and seawater. 🧊💙💚
According to local legend, the sinkhole was created by a meteorite impact, hence its name "Hawiyat Najm," which means "The Falling Star Sinkhole" in Arabic. ⭐️
