Grass is always greener on the other side. I find London to be awesome for photography too. Love my Lisbon ❤️
Small correction, it's said Graça (as in Grass-a). Great video as always. And happy you had a much better experience in Lisbon, than the first one. Hope you come back.

Amazing how an outsider manages to show that this is indeed a beautiful city, with lots of photo oportunities. Thanks for that, now I just hope for sun in the weekend :-)

Thx! Great video
Very inspiring as always! Thanks
Great guide and great photos. Thanks Roman!😊
very interesting video! amazing as always :)
Beautiful images and video, thanks.
This was fantastic, Roman! Such a great guide to Lisbon SP potential! Glad to have you pass by!
Every of your videos makes me picking up my camera to go shoot or planing trips to somewhere. Thanks for the motivation :)
Great video and one of my favourite cities!
I can't wait to go there! I will hang onto this video when we go. Thank you!!
Cool vid. Wish I'd spent more time there when I went. Might have to make another visit.
good vid, good work... excellent channel!
Your best work yet, more as a showcase of what the city has to offer. Loved the music and editing!
Amazing captures and you make Lisbon look So inviting! TFS ~!~
Beautiful job Roman! I felt like that I was walking right beside you, touring these beautiful cities. Thank you!😊🙏❤️
Just back thanks to your recommendations. Back on the radar soon.
Exactly, shooting street in Lisbon is easy mode, everything is so damn photogenic. And then those colorful Carreiras! For anyone planning to visit, do yourself a favor and try the Ginjinha, it's a delicious cherry liquor.

Roman, Wife and I are headed to Portugal in late summer, so this is super helpful for introducing us to the place and anticipating the types of images we might find. I’ll look for your travel channel.
Great insight Roman. Very enjoyable. I was supposed to be going there to watch a gig at the Campo Pequeno tomorrow night, and spend a couple of days shooting. However passport is delayed. I'll get there later in the year and follow your footsteps. Keep up the great content. 👍
Excellent video - Lisbon is a great city and very photgenic. I have been couple of times since taking up photography and there are places you showed that I haven't seen!!! Must get back there again! I'm fortunate in that I am relatively close as I live in the Algarve.
Hey Roman, I purchased your Zine about Lisbon, you captured some really great images which I love, cheers.
Thanks Roman. Been to Lisbon (& Porto) took a ton of photos, but didn't have enough days there.Recognized many of your places, great memories. Tram transportation is a plus for us as seniors, but have been known to cover 13-15 km a day in August heat .
Another fantastic video, thank you for all the insights. I was once told to expose to the right. But what I see in your pix is so much more powerful and suits me more. Thanks for giving me inspiration to use some of this stile of light and deep shadows again.
I love your pictures and the great guide that will definitely be helpful when i go to lisbon later this year! Some real gems in your selection of photos, wow! 👏🏻
I just got back from lisbon and agree with everything you said here, took my X-E4 and the 35 f2 and had so much fun, brilliant as always Roman!
I went to Lisbon for this exact reason and will be going back as soon as I can.
JUST BEAUTIFUL!! I could here my camera constantly snapping while watching this!!
Great video Roman. Thank you very much!

You should also have gone to the Mouraria neighborhood, the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon
Great video Roman! You made me want to go to Porto so bad with your trip there and now you’ve done Lisbon just as much justice! You’ve given me a hard choice to make for a city break this summer!

Your guides are great- thank you. We’re midway through our weeklong trip now. I second your thoughts about focal length: when I first arrived I felt that a wide angle would be best as the streets are quite narrow, but with the long hilly streets the compression of a telephoto results in amazing photos. I actually find myself grabbing my iPhone 3x telephoto a fair bit.
Cool video as usual. Waiting for the longer one on the other Channel. Lisbon is Indeed high on my to go list. Planed for next automn, sailing there. No doubts it's gonna be awesome. Thank you for sharing

Got into photography a few months after my Portugal/Spain trip! I need to go back!!!
Great video and introduction to Lisbon Roman 👍🫶
I absolutely loved Lisbon. Some incredible shots mixed in here too Roman. Bloody hell I was out of breath wandering about though. Nothing prepares you for those hills 😂😂😂
Also visited Lisbon after a trip to Cascais this spring, it’s my favourite town in Europe. I only got told off about not shooting my camera in the market. There were big signs and quite angry stares. Still have to go through and my photos from that trip. My 18 and 70-300 got the most use. Damn you are walking far, Alfama to Belem….probably should have done that after all pasteis de belem - great video!
Coincidentally, I am going in a week! Your photos give me great ideas.
Great stuff! Aso went to Lisbon for a few days last summer and for some reason I edited most of my photos in black and white. I can also recommend the Miradouro da Senhora do Monte (great view, many people and always planes passing by in the distance) and an underground passage with nice graffiti and lights (38°42'10.6"N 9°10'28.7"W).
It was a joy to see your video and to see familiar places by different eyes. If you have the chance to return to Torre de Belém, go a bit further to Fundação Champalimaud. Thanks for this great video!
Did you walk to Champalimaud research center right next to Torre de Belem? That has amazing architecture and when the sun hits it just right, there's great pictures to be had.
My favourites are Bangkok, Prague, Gothenburg and San Sebastian
Reminds me to go back, been 20 years. Thanks.

Would have changed quite a lot id imagine!
Yeah, love this city! I would also suggest to visit Sintra and Cabo da Roca. Cabo da Roca is one of those metaphysical places that make me think about life and time.

Great video, Roman. Thank you! I'm ready to head to Lisbon. My only question is why you seem to have an aversion to a zoom lens like the 24-105mm Sony G OSS except for its rather slow f/4 aperture across all focal lengths. I found it to be great for street photography in Paris last fall during daylight hours. I used the Sony Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 lens on my alpha 7Riv for dusk and nighttime shots. Have you ever compared that equipment to the Fujifilm camera and lenses that you use to great effect? Is the Fujifilm significantly lighter or smaller? Thanks again for your great work!!
Great video Roman. I’m planning a trip to Lisbon with the missus, so this is handy. One question though. Why the three lenses, wouldn’t it have been easier to go with the 16-55 and the 90?
@Chex_Mex
Жыл бұрын
I assume with the primes he liked having the faster aperture? Good question though
campo d' ourigue is also nice :) a cool spot is the roof of the Estrella church there and you have a nice park. I was there in 2019 and really liked it. Lisbon is a great city loved it every moment.

Hello Roman, great video with good advice and photos. One question about the lens you mention in the video (28, 50 and 135mm) are those 35mm equivalent lens numbers or APSC numbers? Thanks
@kungfubeatsbysifufilter9431
Жыл бұрын
Full frame equivalent. You can see them around 1:36 : 18, 33, 90 mm Fuji
Thanks! For a lisboner, it doesn't look as fresh and new as perhaps you see it. I have trouble avoiding my photos looking too turistic. But I can give you all a tip to see something more. Notice, when you go to the west, how the buildings and palaces look more colonial, notice the banana trees and exotic trees in the backyards. You'll see very exotic trees like the dragon tree and others. Notice how the most common tree in Lisbon besides plates and maples is the jacarandá. Also see when you go east the oppressiveness of the massive religious buildings, think of the inquisition... Just two tips...
Hello Roman! Which lens better for travel?
Bring comfortable shoes or trainers, the footpath or pavement is very uneven, I had sore feet after a few days but it's a great place and I will go back sometime, possibly also to visit Porto.
Do you carry a single camera body? I feel like with 3 primes, i'd be constantly wanting to change between lenses and spend less time enjoying the moment. I have the 33 f/1.4 and I'm tempted to bring only that one for my next europe trip.
come to Porto :)
Hey Roman. Do you ever use LRC and would you say LR is enough for street photography?
Next time check out Parque das Naçoes and Oriente station. Amazing modern architecture and a good vibe. Don't be like Google Maps - it's pronounced Park das Nassoys (with a hint of an 'n' where the 'y' is) Google says Nackos which is always good for a laugh
You use a drone for some of these broll shots?
Cheers for that Roman, a day, a week, or maybe a year?
Hi, do you use Auto ISO?
Hi! What is the name of the street of photo 6:46? I can’t find it in google maps street view. Love to hear! Going to Lisbon tomorrow 😍😍

Good afternoon! The neighborhood you refers to Belém is Madragoa and not Alfama.
I live since 25 years in Asia and prefer street in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Osaka.... and whole India.
Have you tried wearing roller skates to save your legs?
In my visit?! Nah I live there
Grakka 😂
28 50 and 135??? really? what happened to 18 33 and 90?
