Same here, but mine stands out, almost to far lol ... I've got everything from windshield to crash bar's on both sides... lights everywhere, stereo, and police scanner.... The best rearview mirrors money can buy, triangle bag, phone bag...turn signals, brake light... two bike alarms, perfect seat with shock absorber.. and hydro brakes.. 1000 watt hub.. 7 speed fat tire high viz green ebike..😊

I asked a number of smart car drivers about their smart car - don’t forget to ask them about downsides, most irritating thing, what would they change - and eventually bought one. This is back in 2001 and smart cars were still as unusual as e-bikes today

@@hotpackjay it totally fulfilled my requirements here in Germany: - small run around for mainly local transport needs - fun n funky - never ever any parking issues (I’m a press photographer and running from place to place - never had speeding tickets as it just wasn’t that fast (saved me thousands 🤣) - the petrol/gas station nearly faded from memory before I needed to refill - 700 km range on 35 liters… so rediculously frugal. - enough space to carry my kit, especially loved the split tailgate - most comfortable car I’ve driven in especially over a good distance 2-300 km, always popped out quite chilled and relaxed due to high seating. Yup.. did everything I required… hence the research

@@bigmangmc I'm about 6'4" and it's definitely a compact bike - but there are ways to make it bigger with seat risers and big bars. You'd probably LOVE the ultra bee, it's just a bit bigger and comfier for taller people, plus a ton more power!

Other than bikes what else do you use with handlebars? Sure jet ski, dirtbike, fourwheeler and that stuff but still considered a bike of a sort. So if that part is left out and the part about power then yeah you’re right

Just get the best one if you’re going to get one. I only have a conversion with a BBSHD but I’m really happy with it. I swapped the stock chainring out for a smaller one for more torque and have a cassette with a huge cog too so I have huge torque. Also goes 40mph when not in torque mode lol and I’m honestly completely happy with that

@@chuckwaardenburg496 there is also the befang ultra which is from the same company as the BBSHD. The Ultra is basically just a BBSHD that’s been beefed up with stronger parts. So instead of nylon gearing you get some kind of metal. You can upgrade the nylon gears in the BBSHD to metal ones anyway though. You can also get a programming cable that plugs into your PC and set it up more to your liking. You can upgrade the controller to turn it in to basically a dirt bike. I’m probably throwing too much info at you all at once now though lol and I’m not going to do any of that anyway. The stock BBSHD and 52V battery is enough for me. I’m not looking for a dirt bike although that would be fun I don’t think the frame on my doner bike could take the power. It already flexes as it is.

@@chuckwaardenburg496 yes my current setup is a mid drive and yes I did set it all up myself. You need a few special tools so if I were you I would watch some youtube vids on how to do it beforehand if you’re not the kind of person that is used to working on their own bike. Otherwise I’m not quite sure about bike shops because a lot of the time they don’t have people in there that are used to working on DIY e-bikes and might refuse to do it. You could give it a go though. I’ve always worked on my bike myself as I enjoy it and like to know how to fix something when it goes wrong fast also so I know it inside out so it only took me around an hour to set up the entire thing. It’s really not that’s complicated. You do need to make sure you get the right size for your own bottom bracket and that size should be in the specs for your bike. I’d say the mid drive was easier for me than the hub as for the hub if it’s in the 1500W plus range you need torque arms attached to make sure it doesn’t drive itself straight out of the wheel drop ins. And it was just a pain in the arse due to overheating and things as I like to do off-road riding as much as possible and won’t go flat out for very long before it cuts off due to heat. The BBSHD mid drive doesn’t have a heat cutoff though and will just fry itself if you push it too far or do things in a gear it shouldn’t be in drawing too much power for too long. The DIY thing is up to you though. I feel it’s simple enough even for someone that’s not really inclined to work on their own bike to do if you watch KZread tutorials first but up to you

In Virginia they will impound it unless you set it up as a motorcycle or moped. Has to be speed limited to 20mph and have pedals to be classed as eBike.

The problem is when sur ron first came out they were a class 2 ebike. Meaning no pedals and 20 mph cap. They came with a class 3 sticker silly enough while speed was capped at 28mph. Now you got people saying it still an ebike even though it goes 45mph. The website doesn't claim its an ebike anymore and is for offroad use only.

i bought mine at 4,200ish free shipping . now it’s $17,000 . i just can’t believe it .

I haven't had any issues personally but if I see any cops I usually just hop on the sidewalk and slowly cruse. It's really easy to get around because there is no where you can't go. I can get to any local appointments in half the time. Just stay off highways 🛣

Exactly how I felt before I pulled the trigger on an electric unicycle! Once I got it I didn’t feel the need to upgrade until they started adding suspensions on them because I do a lot of off road mountain bike trails! I want some kind of electric bike but it will never replace the thrill of an EUC!

That would be considered a moped in Nevada. Would need plates & lights plus a drivers license to ride it around town. Also illegal to ride on sidewalks, but that applies to all bicycles like most cities

They're good for getting around in areas where bicycles can go and to ride on the streets without having to register it(in most places), but having ridden stock and upgraded units, they can't yet beat a true fuel powered dirt bike with 125cc or more. Plus for heavy offroad use, they feel more like a bicycle than a dirtbike.

This isn't street legal. Most cops are cool and let you go. But for places that speed and wheelie your not in luck and they give tickets. For example in California.
