THIS is Summer In Michigan? 😲 RV Michigan | Marshall, Holland + Grand Haven

Today's rv travel vlog kicks off our Summer Escape Series as we officially make it to Michigan. Unfortunately, nothing really goes as planned as we deal with some wild weather and RV repairs on the road. We still make the most of our time showing you some of the things to do on the shores of Southwestern Lake Michigan, visiting the beach towns of Marshall, Holland, and Grand Haven.

I know other areas use the old line - "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes". But as you can see, it is literally true here in Michigan. P.S. Holland's TULIP FESTIVAL is in May, not March. It still snows off and on right into May, some years. P.S.2 - You were wise not to try the water when the wind is fierce. The undertow can be quite dangerous.

Michigan weather is the most unpredictable of all the 50 states. When it's nice it's very, very nice though. My DIL went to Hope College in Holland. It's a cute town. To bad you didn't get to Ann Arbor, where my son went to college (Go BLUE). Ann Arbor has great restaurants, breweries and lots of cute shops and places to just walk around and enjoy the ambience of the best college town in America.

Lakes? We call them INLAND SEAS( WHICH THEY REALLY ARE)!! Just ask the ocean pilots of the freighters!! We probably have better beaches than Cali too. Michigan has the longest coast line of any state except Alaska. Our beaches are free, relatively uninhabited, wild, full of drift wood, sunken ships, scenic views, sand dunes( yellow, golden sand).

If you had been here in June, you would've melted. We had crazy hot temps and hardly any mosquitoes, which is almost unheard of!

Enjoyed your video just being able to learn about the area even though weather was drab for you. I followed your Journey through Mexico & awesome to see you in the magazine! For myself & my wife, being a senior citizens, the trail to the top of the staircase was not worth it. Have you been to the Smokey Mountains? The Blue Ridge Parkway is fantastic especially if you take your bike.

Still a great vlog. I learned a lot, added Holland to my list of places to visit and made note that the sardine campground is a no go for me. Ha ha. Both are equally helpful, what to do and what not to do.

Tulip Time is every May 😉 Big Lake Brewing on 7th St. is the next New Holland Brewing. Great brew and good food. I quit the mug club (Fairbanks Society) at New Holland and joined Big Lake after 21 years. NH has become commercial 😥
