Only older folk use these types of homes. Jobs cater towards working adults, and they move to more modern suburban/urban areas and leave these places to rot and rust after the older folk pass away. Also, absolutely no money is put to keeping these homes.
@thewulf77710 ай бұрын
This is so much the norm that nobody even bats an eye anymore. We have a little house that used to be absolutely beautiful just down the street. Hardly any damage, just unkept. Someone however is keeping the yard atleast semi-kept, never gets more than about a foot high (which is EXTREMELY RARE IN MY AREA). There isn't anybody in these parts of the city that cares anymore, or they are so busy trying to not be homeless because the job market is the worst it has ever been.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and I loved it and the people. I was surrounded with every race you could think of and we all got along great went through grade school and high school with them. Western international high school the most diversified school in Michigan. I never dreamed I would move out of Detroit the suburbs were so boring but I did. My neighborhood started renting out or selling their homes and I was surrounded by people living off the government and drug dealers so I knew I had to get my son out of that. I really didn’t leave Detroit 100%, I worked in downtown Detroit for over 50 years. I still go to Mexican Town for dining and shop at Honeybees Market for all my Spanish food products. I love cooking Mexican food. I still love Detroit although it is very ugly and scary to look at except downtown, greektown and around the casinos they have kept that up. Crooked politicians everywhere in Detroit, democrats read their track records and jail sentences.

someone lived their whole life there, got old, installed a ramp, died, it was sold to someone who probably rented it out, and the good people of Detroit sent it to hell in like 3 years. I'm 38 and my childhood home no longer exists because we moved out in 1998. By 99 the front door was in the front yard and squatters had moved in. By 2000 it was rubble. It was a nice house built in the 30s and my family had maintained it for generations. The people living in the city nowadays think houses are disposable and no one knows how to maintain anything anymore.

If anyone wondered why some houses got abandoned in Detroit is because: Tax foreclosures are incredibly pervasive in Detroit not only because of the city's widespread poverty and long, steady loss of population, but also because they provide a short term cash infusion to a local government desperate for revenue.

Only older folk use these types of homes. Jobs cater towards working adults, and they move to more modern suburban/urban areas and leave these places to rot and rust after the older folk pass away. Also, absolutely no money is put to keeping these homes.
I bought this house and renovated it! It looks much better now.

When the Italian families passed away or moved away the houses were rented or sold off and the people that moved in didnt care and now its a dirty ghetto and its so sad. These are possible childhood homes it’s so heart breaking seeing them like this
When I was still a child, I spent most of my childhood with my grandmother in a small village, there was a small house where my brother and sister and I sometimes spent time. Now my grandmother lives in our city, and there is little left of her house. I miss those times, it was wonderful😢
It’s crazy how all the abandoned houses have such a symmetrical hedge of bushes like its as if somebody showed up after they were abandoned and planted a perfectly straight row of hedges in front of the house
As someone who lives in detroit I can claim you can never go through a whole drive without seeing even a glance of abandon houses but Detroit is still an awesome community! :D Oh also some towns rn actually there fixing houses! Edit: ty for the likes!!

My house is getting destroyed soon, and this just makes me so sad...
It appears an elderly person lived here and died between 2013-2019
someone lived their whole life there, got old, installed a ramp, died, it was sold to someone who probably rented it out, and the good people of Detroit sent it to hell in like 3 years.
It’s so sad about Detroit it has so much potential all those homes. There’s sometimes hole blocks where you can see where houses used to be and there’s just a foundation and a bunch of overgrowth.
