"This is not a resort." Danjugan Island | Negros Footprint

Danjugan Island in Negros Occidental finds a fragile balance between science and tourism. To be sure, this is not a resort. This is a friendly marine camp where visitors pay for the privilege to study the ecosystem with flippers and snorkels and goggles, and the rare chance to see tracks of baby sea turtles returning to sea.
In the Negros Footprint series, Negros Season of Culture presents three environmental groups in Negros Occidental who refuse to drop the torch and let the flame die. Against the drudgery of ecological advocacy slowed by inadequate aid, they have created unique learning spaces so people can come, discover, and support. They are the reasons why Negros Season of Culture celebrates the environment in September and October. Because they have proven, it is possible for the environment to win.
