i love your channel a lot! but let me clear some things. ____________________ What is "Balayage"? ____________________ the word "balayage" means painting V / W patterns without using foils. any time you are using foils it's called "Foilyage". some people prefer to do "weaving" instead of painting V/W patterns which serves the same purpuse of > creating darker spaces between the blond. some people do "zigzag" to create those dark spaces between the blond. what you did here is "Shatush balayage" "shatush" = "teasing". __________________________ what is "Shatush" balayage/foilyage __________________________ "shatush" = "teasing" the purpose of "shatush"/teasing is to separate the "shorter hairs" within every section. we are basically moving the shorter layers/hairs upwards and locking them near the roots. the separation of the shorter layers will give us darker roots and diffusion of the "bleach line". the same separation of the shorter layers can also be done with "airtouch" technique. __________________________ what is "airtouch foilyage"? __________________________ airtouch is replacing the "shatush" technique. (it's doing the same in different way) in airtouch you blow the short layers with blow dryer instead of teasing them. this technique was invented for clients that suffer from the pain of combing after "shatush". and in general it is more simple than "shatush". in "airtouch" we usually don't paint V/W patterns , we apply bleach closer to the roots. but it's possible to paint V/W patterns. it is always done with foils so it is "foilyage". _________________ What is "ombre"? _________________ the word "ombre" is just referring to the toning method of your blond. ombre = creating a seamless flow of color from roots to ends. it's done by usually applying darker toner at the roots and lighter toner at the ends, while using "color melting" technique to diffuse any lines of color. __________________________ what is "shadow root balayage/foilyage"? __________________________ this is a technique of covering the roots with color while doing highlights at the same time. we can use this technique even when doing "shatush" by painting the teased hairs with permanent/semi/demi color.

Overall how long does this take you to do Because when I’m doing balayages in the salon I have to do the balayage within a hour which sometimes is hard as it takes longer x

Hi. Could you please tell, why do you just put the layers one on another without any protection or isolation between? Blondor can easily leave light marks where it is not necessary, or am I wrong? Thanks!

Hi! This is a special bleaching powder which looks like a clay so it doesn’t swell and it doesn’t leave the marks on the hair. It’s not a classic bleach which you use for classic foiling techniques or for global decoloration. I left the link of the product in the description, so check it out!
