I'm a crawler guy, just great watching you have a go and lots of laughter, you'd cringe if you saw me jumping & flipping haha! Can't wait for this truck to hit the UK, I use this type as a trail truck. Long mountain walks in high gear with low gear for crawling spots. Not a fan of the TRX4 and used to run a fleet of Defenders so this really interests me. Your videos have been extremely helpful when choosing my last few rigs, thank you from Wales!

@user-us I love the Bluetooth app feature. I'm not a fan of Traxxass at all, never owned one, probably never will be an owner. I'm older and from the race scene so I favor Losi over a lot of others. However I've been noticing trucks like this and full blown crawlers. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything in over a decade, I hate buyers regret lol. My only concern with this is the 1/8th sizing. I've only dealt with 1/10th, so how hard would this thing be to hop up later on or simply maintain? I asked you due to you saying you had a fleet of Defenders lol.

@@jhrubicon1470 I meant a fleet of real ones! I had 15 at work, all in various states of disrepair and mostly held together with hope and bailing twine. Really bonded with the old jalopies and want a 1/10 scale but not a Traxxas. My favourite crawler is the FTX Tracker, (RGT outside UK), versatile and easy to find parts etc. I also wonder about parts and upgrading since I think this is their first larger crawler.

@@user-us4su9du5w the performance in the video was great for a RTR imho. The odd motor size is a bit of a concern and I also think the tires could have been a bit taller, but that may require body trimming which is nothing when reaching 1/10th buggies & stadium trucks but this would be my first "scale look" rc, so I would hesitate to do much trimming. Do you know a different platform that performs as well as the h8h? I already have a radio & receiver (DDF-350 w/ 6ch receiver) seemed like a really good deal. I also have a 3900kv 550 and 45kg servo. Just need a ESC if I buy a roller kit. I still have my Novak brushed ESC, which is 100% cool but out dated & I don't want to fry it lol. Ty for helping me decide on what I should get btw.

It will run on either a 2S or 3S LiPo. After running it, I would recommend using a 3S, but 2S is OK if you have nothing else.

@@AussieRCPlayground Cheers m8, I'm new on this world and I'm thinking about getting this one in particular. I've seen some general recommendations about the size of the batteries, but I'm still quite confused about the C-rating. Do you know which of the following ones may be better for this car and why? - 3S 5000mAh 35C LiPo - 3S 5300mAh 60C LiPo - 3S 15000mAh 100C LiPo Thank you :)

C rating = discharge rating. Think of it as the battery's own fuel pump - the higher the C rating, the stronger the pump. A higher C rating is always better, it means the battery won't work as hard when higher amp draw occurs or it will stay cool and likely last you longer if used in an RC that doesn't pull manu amps. Amp draw is determined and starts at the motor - size and kV. Then you take into account the weight of the car and gearing. Then add any external resistance, such as the terrain you run on and the incline of the road. Essentially, amp draw is load - the more resistance you have in the system, the bigger the load = high amp draw. Using a high C rating battery won't harm your RC, the battery doesn't push the power to the RC, it's the motor that pulls it. So if you can run a high C rating, do it. A good way to determine if the battery you pic is suitable for the job is to do a bit of math. Take the mAh amount and decide it by 1000. Then times that by the C rating. Example; 5000mah 35C 5 x 35 = 175amps. If you truck is running a 60amp ESC, this battery will be plenty. However, if your truck is running a 150amp ESC, I'd probably go for 50C+ battery just to give yourself some headroom for those spikes in power. Hope that helps, but if you need more info, let me know.
