Trivia : Stolas is actually based on an actual demon written in the Ars Goetia. He's ranked Prince and resembles an owl with long legs. He teaches knowledge about Astronomy and about precious stones.

It always amazes me watching reactions to this episode how no one notices Stolas' silhouette in the TV screen before it flies off the wall

Blitzo's hallucination felt like it was heavily inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall (the movie) especially near the end with the background rock music and style of it, especially with the shape shifting representation of his trauma

@@calxiyn fair, but the manner of death isn't just "gunshots". there are missing limbs, burn marks, axe wounds, and much more than what these agents would do. Also, they aren't trying to convince society. They said "No one in corporate is ignoring this". All their trying to do is get the government to believe them, and with footage and a body count, as well as video evidence (Which is much harder to edit in false things than still images), there's no way they can say no.

You gotta hand it to Stolas... that bird knows how to make an entrance... and your worst nightmares.

I really liked how the dreams/trips were constructed, they were completely different aesthetics but both succeeded with the character development. You can tell that they reflected what they needed, a wholesome heart to heart to reassure moxie and a cold slap to reality to force Blitz to face his issues and stop pushing everything and everyone away

Charlie and Lucifer are probably immune to blessed-weapons, being either a fallen-angel (Lucifer) or half-angel (Charlie). I'm not sure about Lilith, it depends on which version of her is being used.

@@orangemarissa50 Ah, well, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (both made by Vivziepop) are in the same universe. Hell has 7 rings for 7 deadly sins, Wrath, Envy, Greed, Lust, Gluttony, Pride. Each ring has it's own hierarchy and species that inhabit it. I told you that Charlie, Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar reside on the Pride ring, Lucifer and Lilth ruling as the king and queen, while Stolas resides on the Wrath or Greed ring (i'm not quiet sure). Stolas does not rule over the Wrath/Greed ring, however we have been informed he is very high-ranked.

Stolas debut is quite scary and truley horrific and i wonder if the next one is The Lust episode and we may see a villain team up and the Agents again?

According to his inner monologue, his biggest fear is dying alone, but as he said "everyone leaves" and Verosika said he acts like a total bastard to push people away and keep them at a distance. He's probably afraid that since he finally found a family he doesn't want to lose, they'll be the ones he loses entirely. Or something of that sort.

I love the fact Blitzo is in a clown outfit at the beginning of his trip and his forehead symbol is a broken heart (same as Moxxie's trip) but turns into his normal symbol and outfit when he begins to go towards Stolaz. That and the shackles that appear show that he wants to be close to Stolaz but worries about the effect it will have on him, trap him under the control of someone else. It blends in well with his trips theme of closeness and selfsabotage. Moxxie looked disturbingly good dressed like Stolaz' wife Stella :) Millie making sashimi :) I hope you react to or let us know what you think of Jonathan Young's cover of Addict, or Caleb Hyles' version.

Imagine they take it to corporate, and no one believes them and they get turned down... And then the cherubs get in contact with them and they work together

Imagine Angels with the truth gas invading hell for the extermination.

I think it's representing that Blitzo has built a wall around himself so he wouldn't get hurt by people but him realising that that wall is hurting those close to him because if you notice Verosica, stryker, the clown and Stolas representing his insecurities while millie and Loona weren't there because he has a pretty good relationship with them so I think Blitz will be a bit more open and slightly nicer.

The symbol stolas used was used in the past to summon stolas and forces him to give knowledge about the stars but he used it to summon him only problem is stolas can't hurt anyone after he's summoned so he only scared them

"Man, one day Vivziepop is just gonna like...stop making shows and make music videos!" Well, do I have news for you, Buddy...XD

With blitz screaming to protect moxie, "get down" and "moxie" it makes me realise how good a scream can be, like elastigirl in the airplane scene!

I couldn’t stop laughing at Hunters reaction of Biltz and Stolas’ flirting and kissing! I loved this episode of Helluva Boss so much because how the fight scene was made and how there was some friendship making!

Depends on how long it will be. Since this is good 8+ minutes longer than usual episodes, no wonder it took them twice as long when they have been mixing animation style, fighting scenes, etc. and frankly, it is still impressive as hell for such a small new company to do crazy stuff like this in 4 months when they have barely any experience compared to the other studios with long history. I feel like the next episode should take 1-2 months again, though. Maybe 3 if they take a break.

The Term you were looking for is "a Bottle episode". What the Agents thought they did: make them see nightmares to break them. What they actually did: an Intervention.

"They've never done an action like this before!" Me whose already seen it multiple times. Hoo boy this gon be a good reaction. 🥤🍿👀

Well, I guess we know why this ep took so long. The animation this episode is next level.

I feel like this ep was not only incredibly wholesome and full of character development. It also heavily solidifies the demon hierarchy in terms of imps who can be kidnapped but also slaughter an intire building worth of guards...And stolace who's demon royalty and can create the stuff of nightmares just to show up

I agree, I love how Stolas is clearly extremely powerful and capable of terrible things, yet he comes across as so affable.

You mentioned crossover from Hazbin, they have stated that since Hazbin has been picked up by a TV studio its gonna be worked on differently or something, and that there won't be much crossover with Helluva Boss.

Stolas's entrance was so badass!! He definitely showed why you don't ever mess with the prince of hell's boytoy!!

I also love the fact moxie being pegged is now canon

The stuff Stolas did (which I will add as my favorite part of the episode) reminded me of that one episode of old school Teen Titans, where Raven had her demonic raven appear over the tower during the rainstorm. Vivziepop’s team made such a great use of the monochromatic color scheme. Red and black is already my favorite color combination, but on top of that the WAY the colors were moving was so cool!

They actually went from music videos to this.

Oh, Stolas is an actual demon from the Ars Goetica, usually depicted as an owl with extremely long legs. He usually teaches astronomy, herbology, and alchemy. He's one of the original fallen angels, in charge of several legions of Hell.

this is one of my FAVORITE episodes , we see the depth of blitz,

I have a few channels (This one, Veggie Gamer, Xiao Long, AirierGames, and KaggyFilms) that have done reactions to Helluva Boss episodes that I've checked out and loved, and once I got a notification of this episode, I took the time to subscribe to these channels _just_ to make sure I got notified when they did reactions to it. I was _waiting_ for this one in particular! This one was the first to guess ahead of time that Stolas would be coming in though, nice one Cal!

Agent one and agent two are inspired by scully and Mulder from the X-Files. Their naming convention is inspired by J and K from the men in black franchise as well as the agency being an acronym like M.I.B and the fight scene seems to be inspired by kill bill. Also Blitzo's hallucinations are inspired by pink Floyd's the wall.

He was censored only when he talks graphically about what he wants to do with Blitzo and/or what he wants Blitzo to do to him. Any other strong language is technically different.

Best part is Blitzø and Moxxie were dressed as actual charactets from Cats in the CHERUB episode (Rum Tum Tugger and Mister Mistoffelees, respectively).

It's weird how people always say "No one's gonna believe em, it's CGI or photoshopped". But uh, did everyone forget the 78ish corpses throughout the building?

We also see no other gunshots or weapon attacks against those people from anyone else so you can exclude the chance of the videos being edited to show demons instead of other humans. It's decisive evidence that the demons were there.

I choose to believe that Moxxie is talking about the stage Cats exclusively.

This is my favorite episode so far. Best animation, best comedy, best character moments, and best action. Nothing else gets within nine nautical miles.

If you look in the background of the pilot in moxxie and millies bedroom, you can see a Phantom of the Opera playbill poster, on moxxies Instagram a pic of himself dressed as the phantom and now in his drug trip hallucination, blitz dressed as the phantom. I'm sensing a theme.

Blitzos trip is a pink floyd omage from the album "the wall" which had a movie made using the songs to tell his story of his trauma. Its a great film totally recommend if you can find the uncensored version

So, just to be clear about what happened. 1. Stolas possessed Agent 2 to ensure a way into the mortal world. 2. He also resurrected the dead agents, so that they can draw the summoning circle around her. WITH THEIR OWN BLOOD. 3. Once the circle was finished, he used Agent 2 to enter to the mortal world. And he did these things WITHOUT THE GRIMOIRE. Can we agree that he's the absolute GOAT?

The shadow-beast form of Stolas seems to be inspired by the monster from Forbidden Planet, the first SciFi Film with a real budget and intended as a standalone blockbuster feature instead of a “B” Movie (the tack-on schlock films that theaters had to buy as part of a bundle with other, more desire-able “A”movies). Since lucasfilm-level modelwork and CGI didn’t exist yet, and the practical effects that did were pretty lame, they literally called in Disney animators to draw in the special effects over the top of the live action film. The monster itself is invisible and its glowing, dripping, lumbering outline is only seen at the climax of the movie from all the flames dripping off it as it is being bombarded with blaster fire by dozens of people wielding automatic energy weapons (a mix of rifles, pistols, and turrets all unloading on the thing at once, and appearing largely unaffected), and a perimeter defense energy field. So just a hulking bestial silhouette outlined in glowing malice. And it leaves an IMPRESSION.

"I feel like these two are gonna need therapy after this...." Oho, but not JUST yet. 👹😂
