This is My Life: A Grenadier's Story

Lance Cpl. Patrick Tomassi, a 20 year old from Odessa, N.Y., can't seem to ever stop smiling. He's been in the Marine Corps for about two years, and this is his first deployment to Afghanistan. Being the new guy, he's often called on to complete miscellaneous projects. His smile fades from time-to-time, but Tomassi's go-to-it attitude and optimism carry him.

No kid puts his life on the line. Go cry about your failings to someone who cares.

***** "He isn't serving my fucking country"? I am not familiar with MIC so I'm not sure what you are trying to say, and I really don't need to defend myself to you but I am definitely not delusional. I am not dreaming. I am aware of what is going on with our government and making my original comment I see nowhere did I refer to anything having to do with the current state of our government. I was thanking a United States Marine, who BTW is not a soldier and if he is anything like Marines I know would find that insulting. I was also saying that because he is an Infantryman I appreciated seeing and hearing him speak about what his job is like since my son's MOS is also in infantry. I think its kind of ridiculous (& sad) that you would read a comment that short and feel the need to comment back just to be rude and nasty. That would assume to know anything about me or my views on politics and the government when I never referred to that subject in my comment to begin with. Honestly I don't even want to go there because I would have too many negative things to say. As far as you joining the FFL I think that's great if that's your conviction and I wish you nothing but the best of luck

John Marist Typically the Squad Leader is the Grenadier. Go Infantry, become an 0311, and become a Squad Leader. That is the most common way. I’m sure 1371’s work a similar way

When they engage in firefight, can they really see the insurgent or just any how shoot?

  • @zerga303

Depends. Sometimes the firefight is close enough to see them, sometimes they need their scope to do it, and sometimes they truly cant see them and shoot the living hell out of an area theyre told to. It alllll depends.
