IT'S HAPPENING

Laith’s struggles with this inspired me to do it myself. I managed it by 1685, without properly fighting the Ottomans. I basically just took expansion ideas as my third idea group, colonised all of Indonesia and the Philippines, took a lot of central and Southern Africa (couldn’t push into Kilwa because they allied the Ottomans and were guaranteed by Spain), and also took loads of India and Persia. Wasn’t too bad in the end. I also managed to get the Sworn Fealty achievement which was more annoying than I expected.

Sowrn fealty isn't that bad, once you upgrade enough monuments tribal unity no longer ticks down. It's only annoying since it prevents you from reforming your government and you are stuck with being a tribe for neaely all the campaign...

@@maxpont8989 that was the problem, by the time you’re ready to form Arabia, your tribal allegiance is ticking down at -0.25 per month because of development. The Pyramid monument in Cairo slows that down somewhat, but the way I had to do it was win tons of battles against an annoyingly large Delhi, humiliate them then form Arabia that same month. Then afterwards I took the mission to change my government type to Monarchy, because if you do that before you get the achievement it locks it off.

I just decided against going for sworn fealty in my recent run. I planned on getting it initially but it looked like a massive slog by the time I got there so I just reformed into a caliphate and continued on my way lol.

Pretty sure Ethiopia took the last mamluk province, which you then took from them when you took Egypt

in my own Najd run this patch, Bohemia owned half of Europe and not only did Two Sicilies form, they formed and united all of Italy outside the provinces I needed for the missions and the caliphate! before forming Italy they had also conquered practically the entire Maghreb region while allied to France . . . that was a pain England was also partitioned between France and Scotland by the 1600s

as someone who plays all games to 1821: I move my cannon stacks separately from my other troops, but join them up for battles. it helps so much with attrition.

Also you can transfer multiple states to a vassal if you shift click the provinces first

​@@DylanSargesson ​Oh yeah, for sure. I was just referring to 9:19 in the video when he chose the +200 admin instead of the +200 admin & +200 diplo option. He seemed like he wanted to keep the Trade Efficiency guy, so he didn't wanna choose the +400 mana option.

Watching this after the stream, which I joined a bit later (was still good 😄). Having no manpower while fighting nations like France and the Ottomans is definitely hard, but you manage it somehow as always. You can do this achievement, I believe in you. 😉

I can definitely say Laith has done way harder things than I did, but I think I did Jihad pre-1650 before king of kings even by just reforming into a horde and doing horde things.

Laith you know there is a new EU4 feature to mass give land in war? Shift + left click provinces and they will group together and you can change occupation without having to go into 500 seperate windows. just thought you should know

At 48:08 I was wondering, can you put the manpower into the great project to get it done faster so that way you don't waste it with the event? I never tried it so I'm curious if it's working that way

In the meantime you can try make an achievement with that 1000 dev in sand provinves in Arabia!

the mission tree helps with this a lot too, the second Islamic golden age lets you use your golden age both for early expansion and later for dev cost once you finish the tree!

Laith as far as I am concerned, if you have low level forts near a border with your rival/enemy, then they will be encouraged to attack you over and over again 😅
