Special to spend your birthday with your mum. She has been there since the beginning 💞 amazing ski trip. It has been 20 years since I’ve skied and I thought I was too old to try again but your mum has inspired me to get out there 🎿

Such a beautiful Vlog - I can't ski and was just thinking - maybe, just maybe I should consider learning, when you said your mum had learned in her 50's - I'm 51 💫. I would love to visit somewhere like the Alps and soak up the nature and peace.

I think a routine is a key to mental health and yes you can have variations but it is about security and feeling safe and being true to yourself.

Thank you for sharing this little trip ❄️ nature is my happy place especially forest , the life of it from the tree/plants/animals it’s just magical and even more when it’s snowing ! I love walking in the snow so much! I agree with you on slow traveling, that’s why I love to go back to places multiple times, which is weird for some of my friends who will cram as much as they can on every trip. That is one of the reasons why I travel alone . I feel more rest from traveling alone and when I do travel with friends I need some rest after 😅 Thank you for sharing your take on life and mental health 🤍

On a day without kids.. hold a warm cup of coffee, read a good book, make a slow breakfast. Go to the farmers market, go stroll through antique stores, get a pedicure, and then come home and tidy without distractions. Oh and probs stop but for another warm drink on my way home.

It was my birthday this past week too. Happy Birthday to you. What a lovely trip you had with your beautiful mother. Skiing, enjoying the outdoors and nature. I used to Cross-Country ski and go to ski resorts each weekend for a day to ski. I have the most beautiful memories of just being out in the nature and snow and quietness. It helped me get through life after my divorce and my final papers came through just before my birthday. This was a truly beautiful vlog, I felt you had wonderful new energy and beauty and were glowing in that lovely yellow ski outfit. I so look forward to more of your uplifting short holiday adventures. It is so nice to be with the nature and snow. I feel more a piece, then spending time at a beach holiday. I go out each day in the cold snowy winter for a walk in the snow and love it. I remember one time out walking in the snow, seeing a rabbit hopping along happily, hiding under a pine tree. I think you can’t beat this down time, even walking in a park though the snow. I get what you mean when you say the mountains spoke to you. Also, that dinner you had looks fantastic and your breakfast. All the best to you this 2024.

Happy belated birthday! Such a nice relaxing vlog to watch today. The anxiety during a nice event or day (or holiday) - I sometimes find I get mega anxious when I’ve been looking forward to something and I’m there and enjoying it, it’s like a weird release of energy. I find I have this ball of anxiety release and then weirdly feel very calm after. I wonder if it’s just another way of releasing energy, we see anxiety as negative, I see it as a wave that will pass (although I hate it at the time cos it takes over) but I’m trying to just let that anxiety happen knowing the next day will be much better. (Lots of words there, but hard to explain!)

Such a timely comment Phoebe. My mum was only saying the other day how she remembers sending my sister to the shop for sweets and to tell them she’d pay them in a few days when her family allowance came through because she had no money. At this point she was raising two girls alone on a staff nurse salary. I totally understand what you’re saying but felt the need to share that things haven’t always been this way because I know how easy it is to make assumptions regarding what we see online. No matter the budget my message for slow travel is still the same..immerse yourself in the experience, lean into what serves you and leave what doesn’t. I hope you’re having a lovely week so far xx

Oh wow Wengen 👌 so you prefer Megeve? I am from Zurich but have a flat in the mountains and it is perfect to ski and hike there 😊. I forget all my sorrows and can switch off on the weekend.
