Master!!!
I've been looking for someone who teaches this style of oil portraiture for so long. Glad I found this channel. Very engaging teaching style. I will be subscribing and promptly tearing through the entire library. Thank you!
I used to apply paint and blend the way you do, only out of my own personal intuition (I’m self-taught). But then I started watching KZread instructors who said I shouldn’t do things that way, and got all this conflicting information. I’m glad I found your channel because it brought me back to my original style that had a smoother, more seamless look.
So glad to see someone teaching classical methods like Bougereau.
This is so beautiful 🥺😍🥺
Thanks a lot .Your tutorials are amazingly helpful
Thank you so much for sharing with us! You shine!
It looks easy when you do it :') The eyes of your portraits have always fascinated me the most. Thank you for sharing your process!

Agreed! And, I've watched Many.
Loved the introduction! Great video and excellent demo. Very nice work and detailed explanation. Scott, I have a couple of questions: I don’t have the pale rose blush color, what other color do you recommend as a substitute? And when painting a very white complexion what blue and green do you recommend? I’m painting a baby portrait and just curious as to which blues and greens would be best. As usual, you are an impressive portrait artist. I’m practicing with the video I purchased a while ago. Thanks so much for keeping us in check! Your channel will grow in no time. Blessings and take care.
Just Excelllent!!!

Thanks. Great tutorial. I'm currently doing a portrait of my child ..the face is side ways.. the angle is so hard to do.. the perportion. 🙈 But this helps.hopefully I can apply it to what I'm doing.
amaziiiiiing
Thanks for your videos and tips Scott! Do you use natural paint without linseed oil or turpentine?
Hi, great master paintings. Well done. What brushes do you paint with. Size and make would be helpful. Tyvm
Another question please. What are the usual sizes of the canvas that you usually work on? And do you usually paint anything else besides portraits? Love the details and the close-up shots. Thank you keep them coming!
Best Artist here! 😮 Now I wrote colors you using.Having rose and orange?
Thanks for the great video. Want to know which brand of linen canvas you use . Thanks

Your work is so highly detailed do you approach your subject the same When painting on a smaller scale?
WOW you are amazing at explaining every step! Would you be my teacher? I am currently painting Frank Sinatra, as a commission work and was struggling on how to paint the eyes. Will watch this video over and over again until i get those blue eyes of his right.
hello, i'm brazilian i'm learning and would like to know what is the name of the materials you use? the frame, the first paint? Your work is beautiful!! I wanted to be able to do it. Perfect.

Thanks so much! I use Centurion brand Oil Primed linen (but any smooth canvas is fine) and Winsor Newton paint. I like synthetic round brushes. I use Beste brand but most synthetic rounds are similar.

I have ordered some from China on eBay. Very inexpensive and works well in my opinion. It comes in various sizes. It's definitely better than that horrible cotton stuff sold in stores.

Hello! is there any way to make oil painting less... toxic and harmful? like, maybe some alternatives to turpentine, methods of ventilating and storing artworks, or maybe some way to avoid the solvents altogether? Had you ever had any health issues because of oil painting?
@waddellwebisodes
3 жыл бұрын
I do worry about it. They can be dangerous. I keep the solvents covered all the time. I use ventilation and an air purifier. I also try not to get any paint on my skin. So far I haven't had any health issues but it is something I worry about.

It's really annoying that you can do this. I followed this tutorial for hours and my eye looks like some anime character.
