Biggest thing I noticed about TS this TI was their ability to kite and re-engage, it seemed like they were absolutely masterful at executing long fights, and they seemed to do it vs high CD enemy heros (Pango roll, primal BKB, brew split, spectre ulti etc). This video is cool insight into the contingencies involved in this. Especially vs GG they seemed to just kite out all the big spells and then after the 10 second mark it was all in their favour

Shoutout to Grubby, I really enjoyed that type of stream from the sole players perspective from you two and I took a lot of key concepts away from it, this idea here being one of them. Glad you decided to elaborate on it into its own video.

Thanks for the very informative video that offers a pretty unique way to look at macro decisions in the game. Imma go ahead and use the this approach to strategy in my ability draft games, in which i feel like its even more important to think about stuff like this

That video was insanely helpful! As a pos 1 player, late game itemization is a very big factor in my games, and I think it is part of why I am struggling to rank up. Although I climbed from Archon 1 to Legend 5 in the last three months, I have been stuck for about 1 1/2 months now. Never thought about late game itemization this way, thus really enlightening! Could you make a more specific late game item guide for safe laners? I know you already have some, but I struggle to draw parallels from these to my own games. The following would be very helpful: 1) When should I adapt my build to the enemy pos 1 (e.g. buying mkb against butterfly) or instead focus on my build/the rest of the enemy team? 2) In which order should I buy which item? I found when going through replays of games I've lost that I often had the correct items in mind, but built them in the wrong order, thus messing with important item timings (for example, should I prioritize Skadi over damage items against a morph, or do it the other way around?) 3) When should I buy unconventional carry items such as Aeon Disk, Wind Waker etc. on carry heroes? I am often unsure about these, as, for example in a weaver game today vs a Magnus with refresher, in hindsight an Aeon disk would have helped, however, it also cloggs item slots for something like Satanic, Swift Blink or S&Y (thought about S&Y because of stat resist, although weaver doesn't benefit from the move speed). 4) How can I alternate my item build by playing differently thus compensating the lack of this item (e.g. not buying linkens early vs legion as weaver and instead going for more damage early to snipe backline) Not sure if you'll read this entire comment, but I do think it would be a really good guide for advanced itemization for cores, particularly those that tend to go for the enemy backline (e.g. Riki, Weaver, TA, etc) in contrast to front liners like N'aix, Jugg, (Sven), Troll, etc. Kind regards, thanks again for the great Video!

I absolutely love this video… however I think moreso it should be a series. Many videos where you analyze the lineups and items. And let us pause and try to guess late game items and team fights. 100% this is where I suck maybe the most. I feel like with more examples it will start to sink in better.

if you want my two cents here it's more like the items you choose meaning you might go for heart of tarrask, or skady if you want longer engagements, or desolator, mjollnyr if you want burst. As if we're talking about supports the choice you want to make is Blink Dagger for fast ganking/burst and Force staff if you want to control and save teammates from bursting.

I watched that game, instantly noticed this from draft and knew, which would win the exact fights. IMHO VP played surprisingly well, although they drafted awfully: 1) didn't have reliable lockdown (Centaur and CK), and no BKB control. 2) they let Spirit pick a TON of saves, especially banning offlaners, but somehow giving Dawnbreaker (the best counter to their strategy) to Colllapse; 3) there are not many Carries who can get almost bursted, but turn on low HP and kill everyone. Muerta was literally the best option possible for Yatoro. If not at least 1 of 3 reasons, Spirit would have lost this.

The money was just a bonus. People played for the prestige. Only 5 people can say they're the best in the world every year, that's enough to entice people. Also, the prize pool couldn't increase forever, we knew sooner or later it'd happen.

Keep screwing your regular players and compendiums and people burn out and don't buy any anymore. They are tanking the community with burn out and feeling unheard. However, Dota in general has higher prize pools than many competitive games. Even this lower prize pool.
