THIS is How You Dress Up Nostalgia: Unboxing a Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 by Mini GT

I unboxed the white version of this some time ago, but for some reason it didn’t quite sing to me despite its obviously excellent craftsmanship. There’s something extra special about a bright color like red, though, that makes a huge difference.

It’s funny how it’s the same model as the white one but the red color just brings out the very best in it.

When the new Countach was revealed in 2021, I initially hated the design. But, over time it won me over. I like it now. The Mini GT model is really good. However, Pop Race is coming out with one too and it'll be interesting to see how they compare.

@@Vifam7 the design if this remake/tribute grew on me over time as well. I still prefer the original, but I have to say a big part of getting me to pick this up was how well Mini GT rendered it.

Fun fact (sort of) but it is kinda an irony that Lambo even chose to do a 'reboot' Countach. Back in the year 2006, when Lamborghini created their concept car for a reboot Miura and even showcased it at Detroit, their CEO Stefan Winkelmann stated this: "Retro design is not what we are here for. So, we won't do the Miura, even as a limited edition." Correct me if I am wrong but isn't retro design exactly what they did with the Countach? And I won't even mention the fact that this car is basically a re-designed Sian FKP 37, which is itself a re-designed Aventador SVJ with a hybridized powertrain. Because this approach was exactly how Lambo created the Reventon 17 years ago from the Murcielago LP 640. Those folks at Sant'Agata Bolognese really do like to hide their retro ways of making new cars.

@@chirantonbaruah6015 hahaha yeah it’s funny how they eventually jumped on the nostalgia bandwagon. This model has grown on me over time, in no small part because of Mini GT’s sterling replication.

@@jimsmagnificentminiaturemo3235 I can see that. This is a beautiful miniature, but the USP has to be the exposed engine. I love it.
