    tbh it's probably a saving grace for players that get oppressed in the early game and get snowballed out after. It's definitely not fun to be brought to a screeching halt because you did well, but it's not any more fun not having any chance to gain momentum, especially in uncoordinated scenarios such as SoloQ.

    Blue shell mechanics are not fun in general imo, and good players do not want these mechanics in their games. Mechanics like Unite's death timers, Rayquaza being a coin-flip cuz of lag and Ray's small HP pool, and there being a 20%/30% global exp buff for enemy team being 1/2 levels lower rewards bad players while punishing good players. Good players leave.

    38 second death timer should not be a thing in a 10 minute game especially when the said game has a Mob that flips the game.

    What's crazy to me is that the death timer punishments never reset until you die. So if you score a lot in the first 2 minutes, you will be punished by those early scores if you then die at Ray 7 minutes later. The game actively punishes you for not feeding and minimizing your deaths by giving you a fat death timer when it really matters.

    Hate how I’m literally carrying the game. No death. All the scoring. All the kos. Knocking the opponent out and they back it 5 secs. I go down one time and I get a 45 timers and the enemy makes a comeback like my team can’t function without me. And we lose. Punished for being good and having one slip up. That’s why I tell my team it’s to risky to faint in the game. Getting KOed is detrimental to the game.

    Best way to avoid that is once you break tower 2 you should go to central to farm altaria otherwise the enemies will keep spawing and ko you

    I feel this. Or when your teammates abandon you at the Ray fight, you try and steal it and get hit with a 43 second respawn time after you get kited. Why I'm just keeping up with videos, I've given up on the game till it gets fixed. Probably not gonna happen though.

    the way to avoid one player just absolutely wiping the other team and then getting punished for one game is if the game actually matched players according to skill on both sides for ranked matches. Just had a game where the opposing team had 2 players who played sub 100 games and had 3 masters ranked players. My team however had 3 sub 100 games players one master player and me. So it was basically 3 noobs (4 if you include me) and one masters ranked player Vs 3 masters ranked players and 2 noobs. So unbalanced 😂. How can the games be such a mismatch.

    the solution is to get KO'd on purpose around the 2:45 - 2:30 mark to reset your death timer. This is what I do

    If anyone curious why cris got 38 seconds for his first death is because since he was at level 15 when he died that gives already 19 secs, and 15 kills when he died which gives another 15 secs and since he scored at least 160 points in (40 points adds 1sec) that gives a total of 38 secs on the death timer before ray which is so unfair. If he died after ray starts he would have gotten 42 sec death timer.

    There's kind of too many at this point though. Higher lvl mon gives more xp, deaths give unite charge, broken goal farm, shifting bird spawns, stronger center goals, Ray, Longer death timers, objective stealing. The list goes on.

    The more comeback mechanics there are in a game, the less competitive a game becomes, and the less reason there are for good players to want to stay. Good players do not like Blue Shells in their games, bad players do. At this point, only the worst players are playing Unite or people who are content creators/it's their job.

    It's an interesting combination of Theia having so much farm that the losing team is never that far behind, dying giving you your unite move back but playing well doesn't, Defenders respawning in 5 seconds with 10k+ health at ray, other stats like healing or assists not contributing, and things like number of deaths, current objectives, and time of the match not mattering at all that make the respawn system actively work against skill and planning. You're better off 9 times out of 10 just picking 2-3 defender/All rounders on a team and literally throwing your lives away for stacks and then just throwing 5 unite moves at ray because the enemy team literally can't kill 3 tanks fast enough before 1-2 players respawn. Slowbro+Blastoise+Trevenant is basically an infinite loop of respawn at Ray and it's been a problem for way too long.

    Its really stupid especially if youre put on a team that esentially forces you to be the carry through the entire match... I dont mind being a carry, but i hate the fact that its practically an instant loss the moment I lose in Ray cuz the rest of my team cant handle themselves. Suddenly the loss becomes "my fault" because i let myself die on a TEAM fight and everything went to hell cuz i was out for far too long.

    totally agree, sucks that you are somewhat carrying a game and you get killed 1 and the team falls apart, this is specially fucked up when it happens to a tank or a support

    Playing cinderace in jungle, the death timer is brutal because of how glassy it is. So it’s really crushing when I screw up once and I’m out for 45 seconds. I don’t know where the incentive is to not get KO’d besides experience.

    It should cap at 25 s and happen only in the last 2 minutes. It's still a lot but more than that is ridiculous. The criteria is also bad, I'm losing by a stomp but still performing better than the rest of the team and get a KO timer too high but when it's the enemy's best they give them 20 s at most.

    I think the simplest fix is to tie respawn timers to certain level milestones. By doing so and establishing something like "getting KO'd at lvl 12 = 20 second respawn" then you can know for sure how long anybody will be out of the fight. Plus, I think it would address that feeling of "I'm being punished" for doing well as it's consistent to everyone at that point, or at the very least that feeling would wear off after early game wraps up since the level differences won't be as stark. You could also MAYBE tie it to how difficult it should be to KO certain champs, as a 20 second respawn for a defender definitely doesn't feel as bad as a 20 second respawn for a squishy attacker, but that would require quite a bit of nuance to really balance.

    it's giving the other team an opportunity to bounce back. The same way Zap or ray are doing. If your better then be better the whole match not just 8 min and complain how you lost because of ray or dead timer. It's frustrating but that's how the game works. Soon we will get un anniversary update with the new map and new 2 min legendary who will have different effect. Will it be balanced, no. Will we hate the effect, yes. Will we still play, yes. It's unite! :) Until they merge it with Chinese version. Keep up with the good work Cris, love your content!

    Yeah, the death timer is absolutely vile. When you die a single time and are dead for 10% of the entire game, thats just not ok. Not to mention the last 2 minutes have double score, the last 2 minutes of the game have rayquaza; the last 2 minutes of the game are when the death timer punishes you the hardest for playing well. Its literally game losing. Lost a game earlier where we won 2 teamfights, but because i died one single time, we were down 1 person for the third ray fight. The fact that im dead for a minute for dying once, yet they can have 3!!! Teamfights in the last 2 minutes, lose them, and still have enough time to do ray and score 400 point whilst i literally cannot play for an entire minute for getting slowbro unite moved once is just disgusting and vile

    people saying this is okay are NUTS. comeback mechanics are important, for sure, and having too short of a respawn timer would suck too, but... 45 SECONDS? in a 10 minute game? cmon man. not only is that an outrageous % of the match, but its not fun just sitting around for 45 seconds during a fast paced game :( i do think respawn timers should be longer the later it is in the match, but it should cap at 25-30 seconds at maximum. anything longer than that just sucks.

    Had the same thing happen to me, we had win condition regeleki and i tried to secure with solar blade, it lived on one and i died cause none of my team was there. Then the enemy just ripped ray for free cause none of my team went there. Maybe i should have gone for it but it was such a free chance to win and we blew it😭

    they fr should rework death times like sometimes you killed the enemywhich is their main carry and they only took like what 20secs to re spawn and you took an extra 2 to 3secs to re spawn and it gives them time to flip ray or like you dumb teammates try to get ray when they are mostly all alive

    Matchmaking and that death timer at the end game is what is killing this game and why a lot of people stops playing. This are the two major reasons why unite never got as big as league of legends. You would think it should cuz of how good pokemon unite characters are and move sets and the whole nostalgia of everyone KNOWS ORNLOVES POKEMON PERIOD.That is why i stop playing alot and stops at 1200 for masters because they punish you for carrying noobs. I be literally be teamed up with 4 non masters in profile history and they put me against all 5 masters with multiple year/season masters history. I always have to carry with kills, score at least 250, and not get caught at the end without being united by the whole enemy team at last 2 min mark. Or someone split pushes, or your whole team dont go stop or start rayqueza and your the only one WHO UNDERSTANDS THE GAME. The worst part when you get teamed up with 1400-2000 and for some weird reason their >50% win rate and the enemy team has one or couple of non masters history and they know how to play and understands the game, its mind boggling.

    My team was losing hard to tyrannitar once and at ray fight i managed to kill it but died as well i got 24 seconds and tyrannitar 12 seconds it makes no sense beeing punished for playing well

    I was i a match and only dealt 4 K.O before ray and when the enemy k.o me i got punished with 25 sec and the enemy who had 15 k.o only had 16 sec to respawn and i was like what thaaa. TIMIIII

    I feel like it should take other factors into account as well. If you get knocked out by an opponent significantly higher leveled than you, or by multiple opponents, you shouldn't be out for so long, especially if you were put down by say, 4 of the enemy pokemon lol.

    At least they maxed it out at 45 seconds. Still ass though. Cant count how many times theres a minute and a half left and the game literally just ends for me xD very nice.

    I was playing witj meowscarada i did 18 kills . But sadly i died after defeating two Pokemons at ray and got stucked by slowbro unite . And got almost 38 secs timer 🥴🥴😭. Iam the only one carried the whole game

    Imagine if Call of Duty gave you a 30-second timer to respawn after getting a 10 killstreak but dying to a fricking claymore, or if Rocket League gave you a 30-second timer after being K.O.'ed just because you scored 3 consecutive goals, or if Mario Kart made you start 30 seconds after the rest of the players on the next race just because you've been first place on previous ones. This game prioritizes the comeback potential way too much by punishing good players, giving 15-second timers to really bad players after the 2-minute mark and having the flipcoin mechanic with Zapdos and Rayquaza. I don't know if it's intentional to "protect the children's feelings" or if it's all part of an engagement strategy to keep all players "happy" so they can continue consuming.

    When You do 3-6 straight games of carrying 300 points, 15-30 kills and and always have to pick a carry pokemon just to win in rank is the worst part. THEN, team u up for the rest of the day with noobs with

    In my opinion, I think Pokémon UNITE doesn’t need the timer. Just let us quickly go back and get Requa that way that way we don’t have to sit through a timer.

    Devils Advocate: If you died, then were you really playing that well? I think its fine. You shouldn't be able to come right back after mauling the enemy team, they should be rewarded for killing the strongest player. Otherwise people would surrender as soon as one player gets fed too much, and not having any breathing room for a comeback.

    A comeback mechanic definitely is needed otherwise early surrenders would just be done everytime. BUT THIS comeback mechanic specifically kinda also incentives the stomper to just int once(when ray isn't up) to reset said "punishment". So its in between "play perfectly to completely avoid timer hell" or "give them a shutdown to avoid timer hell". I would be more lenient to it if it wasn't for the fact that unite has only 10mins per match, an extra +20 secs is kinda game changing during ray, at best a little rework on it would be nice. Ray on the other hand is the WORST offender for bad comeback mechanics, cause 90% of the time whoever secured it can just waltz in and score due to ray shield's wacky buffs.

    @@SomethingFishyIsGoingOn Think the fact that there's counter play to the punishment is a sign that its not punishing enough. If anything it should just not reset at all. and just be based on your current level. You're not supposed to be able to just steamroll the opposing team alone anyway, no matter how good you play. If you can then kudos to you, but if one person is carrying the whole team and that person dies, then that team loss is earned. That's how extremely bad players get to masters in the first place.

    @@HakumeiTenshi And that then runs headfirst into the matchmaking intentionally expecting you to solo carry 4 bad players. Something has to give and this is one way to give breathing room to players who are being punished for both playing well and doing what the game wants.

    @@joegamergaming Well if every player is pulling their own weight then it wouldn't be a problem. What the game wants is the full team to work together, if only one person is playing well, that means everyone else on either team is playing badly, and that's more of the fault of the game because somehow there's still no comprehensive guide or tutorial.

    First of all they have the fix the mic and chat ban system of freaking 360hrs without any reason.....I have played lots of game but never seen in any game where you got a that high time ban for just opening the mic or giving any suggestions to the noobs....the fact is .... randoms are like if I can't play I will destroy another player's experience but throwing the game and additionally baning their mic if they are suggesting for playing together....what's others opinion on this?

    This game's base mechanics are just dumb compared to other mobas. The death timers being tied to KO's/assists, enemy team getting a Global 20% exp buff on all wild mobs if they're down by 1 level, 30% if they're down by 2 levels, on top of Rayquaza being a coin-flip/RNG cuz of in-game lag combined with a very small HP pool for Rayquaza. Unite's base mechanics are scuffed/unfun

    Instead of making players better, they prefer to enable certain degenerate behaviour, like dying over and over again, feeding the other team. And if you, by a miracle, are able to carry said teamates and risk a little more, and get k.o.'d, you get like 30seg to watch your brainless team die again and even spawn faster then you. Gotta love PU

    Naaah, I'm okay with this. The level 15 Zororark with 20 kills should have a significantly longer timer than the lvl 12 Clefable with 1. Its frustrating to hit a 40 second timer, but from my experience, late game deaths always carry heavy penalies in MOBAs, especially when you're ahead. It could use a rework sure, but this is the smallest of issues with Unite.

    Watching scoring comp was so cringe. The game rewards too much for playing bad. If you start off good your forced to play on the opposite side to get exp too, risking losing your advantage even more. Timi sucks.

    Honestly it is hard to completely agree with this. Yes, it surely feels like a punishment for playing well. But it seems the "playing well" part is decided by how long the player stays alive while also getting KOs. Since Trevenant is currently in the community's blacklist, let's consider an example of that. Imagine a Trevenant stays alive for long periods of time while taking out our squad, and we finally, with some rare team effort, manage to beat the boss. Would we really want to face the same thing again in just 15 seconds? The Trevenant may have played well, or he may have just pressed buttons and it worked out. But having to face the same undying monster so quick would be quite unfair too.

    That's already a problem with monsters like Trev and Blastoise respawning on the losing team in 5 seconds, but they take 10+ to kill. They already have an infinite loop of respawns and shouldn't be allowed to respawn quick anyway.

    If a trevenant is taking out your whole squad then your squad is just plainly bad, trevenant is hated because it just survives too much and stun for 5 business days, but it can't kill too many people unless they headfirst charge into it

    In that case what's the point of playing well ? That mean the game reward bad players. Having to give a free kill to lower your death timer before ray should not be a thing...
