People started going at 4AM, you went there at like what, 7AM? And still manage to get a pretty good vantage point with the tanks and all. I'd say thats pretty lucky. If they allowed people to camp (pretty sure they didnt) I'm sure tons of people would've put up camp sites near Merdeka Square (it was blocked off for a few days before the event until the morning of the event iirc).

Tanks are majestic, I was in love with military vehicles since I was child. I love a lot of warships because they're massive and beautiful. Japanese battleship like Yamato is a truly peak of naval warship design back in the 40's. I would encourage the kids with WW2 tank models from Russian or German because they're so beautiful. Learning engineering from start is a great because the child is curious

Yes, Malaysian are fast on their feet with single mindedness when crossing any road on foot. With Corvid health restrictions being eased there should be many opportunities for your family to visit Open House days by various government ministries and departments. Free and popularly crowded. Your son will be able to view up close to those military vehicles-planes-ships during the Malaysian Army/Navy/Air Force open house Day. Just need to know the date and location.

4:03 the amazing fact about it are there's also a parade like this in different state because we have 10 kings, they rotate around to become Yang Di-pertuan Agong(the supreme head of federation), even tho the parade are not big as this but there's still a tank and military truck, the sky show only in Dataran Merdeka tho, this is International stage parade, primary school, middle school and university stage will also happen at the same time at their institution but the one who does the parade are their school cadet such as scouts, fire cadet, police cadet, red crescent cadet and more, some teacher also can be creative by calling a high cc motorcycle convoy to come to their school to motivate the students and celebrate the Independence Day together with the school

Thank you for the video love it! hard to explain to your kids about military but it is necessary for any country to have it for defense and protection but not to be use to attacking other country. Our country being attacked by many country and the military parade is what everybody waiting for. I was in the parade in 1988 and of course wearing Military Uniform. Now I live in Japan and my wife is Japanese. Funny things is my mum forget to put VCR tape and record it I was in the TV that day..残念でしたね!🤣

14:08 you don't need to worry because no ice cream are stolen because we as Malay which is Muslim are prohibited to take anything without consent which is stealing because it will consider as Haram, the ice cream seller also don't say anything because the trust he have, i believe the man are treating other people and keep counting in his head how many ice cream he take and will pay it out later,we as Muslim are taking our Halal & Haram seriously especially in Malaysia so don't need to worry, this is the reason why some store vendor or street stall can let the customer pick their own food such as buffet and pay it out later

I have to push my way to my parade contijen and finally make it there in time before they parade to Dataran Square to Maju Juntion road in the end. It,s been change last minute due to the crowded people that more then expected amount. Early excercise we will stop at Sogo Mall then in change far away in Maju Juntion road.
