I just started my rats I love it my balls and rats I love it and I love I get to build it all myself

I keep a male with the babies they’re always good dads too.

Nice setup man, where did you get those top mounted water spigots, I need some for my rats so I don't have to spend hours scooping dirty rat bedding. I bet it goes way faster being able to just pull the water and dump the bedding. Thanks!

Do you ever have issues with rats flooding their own tubs... like i was watching them the one night and i have three tubs where they keep flooding their tub and I changed nipples many times but I caught them putting their paw on the nipple and playing in the water. Im not sure how to deal with this issue. I find it funny but at the same time they drowned out 5 batches of babies.

You said you changed the nipples…did you also change the little gaskets inside the water valve? That is always the issue we have whenever we have a flood.

What size are those bigger tubs?

I’m not sure the exact dimensions off hand. They are concrete mixing tubs I got from Home Depot

What food do you use? Is it cheap?

It’s frm rodent pellets….$25 for a 50 pound bag

what do you use for bedding ? was that hay?

We use large flake pine bedding we get from our local feed store. You can also get it at tractor supply

@@kingjamesexotics8360 OK thank you so much. I wasn't sure what would be safe. when feeding to my snake. I've heard having rats in some woods can be bad for the snakes

What's the cheapest and most humane way to euthanize a rat. I have three pet rats. Once I'm down to one, i plan to euthanize him since rats must be kept with a friend, and i don't plan on getting any more rats after this.
