THIS IS HAITI ‒ 'A Paradise Unknown' (Ayiti)

A trip to Haiti is like a trip back in time.
Tranquil beaches, tumbling waterfalls and pine-tree-capped mountains; the raw beauty of Haiti's landscapes is certainly more than what most travellers expect when visiting Haiti.
Despite Haiti’s well-documented struggles, exacerbated lately by natural disasters and political turmoil, the pride and resilience of the Haitian People is evident throughout the country. It only takes one visit to witness the overwhelming kindness of its people and the breathtaking beauty of its natural landscape. A foreign land for sure, but well worth the visit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We were fortunate enough to visit the Caribbean International Language School during our time in Haiti and meet Augusnel, the founder of the school. They are doing great work in providing education and language training to the future generations of Haiti.
This film was shot across 2 trips to Haiti, the first, an organised tour with Siempre Viajero (a Dominican Based Travel Company) and the second was whilst shooting a music video for the talented Haitian Artist, Ayiiti Coles. You can watch the music video here - • AYIITI - MANMAN

Yeap! Lessened learned from Dominican tourism industry! Some of the best in the Caribbean for many years! Building structures and opening up the country for foreigners and all kinds of immigration does not necessarily profit or benefit the working people, the younger generation generation, or the common household! The major metropolitan city in Dominican territory proves that expanding cities along with overcrowdedness, problems of waste disposal, and lack of infrastructure doesn't necessarily help a nation appear better than what it naturally is! I repeat- lesson learned!

Haiti is beautiful. The nature and history is rich. But we cannot forget the social, political, and economic injustice. People are fighting for their lives and their right to simply live. Haiti is beautiful. Haiti is a paradise of its own depending on where you live. The country is vast and has so much to it. The media needs to cover just as much of the beauty as they do the bad.

I noticed they play back the same images here over and over, like the one with the castle in it. The fact over the matter is most of Haiti has no vegetation left. Many empty rolling hills without trees or wildlife because of over exploitation. I am sure it was once upon a time just as beautiful as any Caribbean paradise. Maybe one day, if they regenerate their forests, it will look exotic again.

Today as I am writing an assignment for school there is a graph on population that are undernourished and Haiti was red meaning critical. My dad is from the dominican republic and ive seen much footage of Haiti in the news from earthquakes to the city. But I have never seen such beautiful footage of mountains and rivers. I stumbled into this video because I asked myself "Why does haiti doesn't grow their own food or agriculture" In my ignorance I assumed Haiti was plain with no mountains or fertile land. Yet these images because i told myself lets look for a video proves my assumption wrong. Yet the question still remains, Why is haiti still a poor country with hunger when they seem to have so much wealth in land. I know only a few reasons from "The Junta" dilemma in history and the small african history of Jean-Jacques Dessalines. But nonetheless I am glad I stumble into this video! Much love! I have to continue doing my assignment xD #ADHD

I was supposed to go to Haiti between November 2010 to March 2011 to document the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake but the journey fell through :( It’s still in my bucket list of places to visit

Hello Tom, I hope you are doing well! My name is Tarah-Lynn Saint-Elien; I am a three-time published author, fashion editor, and most recently, Miss Supranational Haiti 2024! Miss Supranational is one of three top prestigious pageants in the world and come next month, I will shine bright for Haiti on the international stage. I am currently working on a video project that I have to submit to the organization in order to showcase my heritage and I've been looking for some b-roll I could possibly use. I got goosebumps watching your "This is Haiti" video and I knew I had to reach out! May I have permission to use some clips from it? At most, it would likely be about 10-15 seconds of your content max. Thank you for sharing your beautiful art with us and showing the hidden side of Haiti! Hope to hear from you soon!
