Demonetisation won't be a problem with Ayreon. Arjen Anthony Lucassen mostly approves of the exposure, sometimes even comments below reaction videos of his music.

Jeroen Goossens is a brilliant woodwind instrumentalist. I once emailed him and said I was yet to hear him on the bassoon - he pointed out he payed it on the Ayreon Album - 'The Human Equation', I'm not sure there is a woodwind instrument he does not play. Jeroen is a great addition to Ayreon

As a flute player………if you are not aware of it check out ‘ELKE’ by Camel one of the two bands referred to by Arjen at the beginning of this peice, one of the most beautiful flute pieces in progressive rock.

The Mike Mills part is the most amazing I have ever seen a musician do.

You should check out the Live From Tilburg recording that was just released. Some singers were replaced because they weren't available, but you can't replace Mike Mills.

Wellwell, this is a true Masterpiece! Excellent casting of singers, and then there's Floor 💗👸. The genius behind all of this is "The Tall Hippie Dude", Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the tallest known rock musician (203 cm). Great stuff, thanks Heline. ⛄❄👍

Ayreon is a wonderful mix of music and Theater. I agree with you Heline. James LaBrie is a great singer in a great band.

From the flute point of view (and also generally), the version iin Electric Castle Live is far better than the trio-adapted version.

The singers in order of appearance are: James LaBrie from "Dream Theater" Tommy Karevik from "Kamelot", "Seventh Wonder" Tommy Rogers from "Between the Buried and Me" Simone Simons from the most epic "Epica" Nils K. Rue from "Pagan's Mind" and "Eidolon" Tobias Sammet "Avantasia" Hansi Kürsch from "Blind Guardian" Mike Mills playing a computer and singing binary from "Toehider" Russell Allen from "Symphony X" Michael Eriksen from "Circus Maximus" and last but not least the incredible Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen from "Nightwish"

Arjen really loves those reaction videos to his projects, and he oftens comments those too.

Ayreon (Arjen A Lucassen) is going to give 4 live sold out concerts in Tilburg (Netherlands) in september 2023 I believe.... loved your reaction Heline..... great music he?, greets from the Netherlands.

The sequential songs Everybody Dies and The Star of Sirrah are from the same album and recorded as live versions.

Ayreon is just one of Arjen's projects, so you may want to dig into the rabbit hole at some of his other work. Don't be surprised if Arjen himself drops in to comment, as he often does so on reactions to his work.

You like James Labrie? The entire Human Equation album has him as the main character. It's my favourite Ayreon album.

Both live concerts have flutes, didgeridoo in them. Ayreon Universe live The electric castle live and other tales. James LaBrie also appears in Ayreon’s Theatric equation. Ayreon is my third favorite band after Pink Floyd and Nightwish. Arjen mentioned Camel here as a band that uses the flute often. Maybe you don’t remember but I mentioned them a few times in previous comments.

It's a bit harsher at times, but you should check the band Haggard. At one time they had 19 members. Try maybe The Final Victory and Awaking The Centuries

Ayreon and Star One are definitely part of my everyday playlist!

Wow that blew me away love all of it love the story telling too this was real cool and they saved the best for last floor keep rocking your cool

Yep, this is an epic rollercoaster ride!!! Arjen does that to you. Just watch everything from him. I can assure you there is a lot!! Don't forget to watch "the sixth extinction" from the 2023 "live beneath the waves" concert 01011001 . Be sure to take the official live video by Arjen himself. It is from the outcoming DVD in may. I witnessed this live in Tilburg last year. Wow, that was an event to carry with me the rest of my life. 25 main singers.....can you imagine?

I really love this band

Hello Heline (hell of a name! pun intended 😅). Being you a flutist I suggest you go on with another Ayreon song, live this time, called "The Theory of Everything" from Ayreon Universe concert. Flute has a main part there, and overall the song (which is a medley of 2 parts in the studio album) is quite remarkable under so many fronts - singing, composing, melodies and so on.

I know it's been a year since this video, but I hope you've added Ayreon to your car playlist. I've also been a fan of James Labrie since my early 20s, but I think the best he's ever sounded is on Ayreon's The Human Equation. Arjen just has a way of getting the best out of musicians.

I didn't know about this project. Thanks! It is, BTW, a good idea to take the mouthpiece off the sax when not playing. Lets the cork decompress and makes it easier to adjust tuning. Also prevents bacteria growth.

Hi Heline, it's is actually not too far fetched to assume a rivalry between Arjen and Tobias ( it does not exist though). Arjen's Ayreon and Tobias' Avantasia are both projects that are considered rock operas, they are the masterminds writing the music and lyrics and then invite musicians and vocalists for the recordings and live shows. Plus both of them are heavily influenced by the 70s and 80s rock music. So there are some parallels I'd say and then they both released albums at the same time...

Another project of Arjen Lucassen is Star One. Last half year he had another fantastic album. Just a tip to listen

I was so eager to know which of the awesome artists you loved, and offcourse it was James! Loved your face the moment his voice ripped it. And I was awaiting your reaction to moment the cello joined the flyte there, and gdang if there wasnt massive goosebunps! I has seen sooo many reactions of this, and yours is by far the most entertaining! Your facial expressions speaks volumes of the huge experience that is this song! Dream Theatre though Norway? Hi Heline, one more time because it's you: Jeroen Goossens: "Yeroon" "G oceans" (G=sound just before spitting; oceans minus the e.) Yeroon Gocans.

Used to play flute & piccolo, barely touched them in years (esp since piccolo barrel cracked😬🤦‍♀️). I'm sure my tone is utter crap now, music reading was never *great* in the first place, and I only barely remember the beginning of Scotland the Bave (school song). I def appreciate any time flute shows up in unexpected places. Be'lakor's 'A Natural Apostasy' so far has been the most surprising. There's no official video for it tho. Clearly you're down with metal, but how do you feel about stuff like Jinjer? Unleash the Archers? Metalocalypse?😅😅
