This song triggered a *wonderful* discussion between my husband of 15 years and myself. I played the original for him and asked if that was how he felt. He said, "Every single day." I had no idea men felt like that. I feel like we as women / partners are failing our men. We need to step the *f* up. I learned to not rush outside if he sits in the truck for a few minutes decompressing after a bad day. I just give him time. I'll look out there, make sure he's ok, he gives me a wave or something, and I'll say "Come in when you are ready." I've learned not to take it so personal if he's in a bad mood after work. Maybe he had a crappier day than usual and couldn't shake it off as much. So... TLDR : Dax brought about a positive change in my marriage with a song. 🎶🔥💖😎🙏🏼

Ladies, if you're with a man, and you check on him or he just decides to confide in you and tells you things on his heart. NEVER EVER use that information in a fight against him later. He'll never tell you another thing like that and NEVER truly trust you again with his heart. He may still love you, but won't trust you with his emotions.

I lost my 23-year-old son April 2021. He was in a horrible relationship, the woman very abusive. Standing in my living room not long before his death, staring out of the window he said "Mom, you were right." I told him, "I don't care about being right. I want to know what we're going to do about it." He shrugged it off, having no answer. As long as you're above the dirt, you have a fighting chance. The answers will come. My son left behind 2 babies, whom I will never see, and I knew when I buried my son that I was burying my grand-babies as well. It doesn't have to be that way. There is help out there----someone willing to listen or just lend a shoulder. It isn't weakness. It takes strength, so be brave and fight for your life, and that of your children if you have any. I implore you, men....do what you have to do to stay on your feet and fight. It won't last as long as death does.

This song is a road map for men and women. For men, it lends a voice to the voiceless. Gives hope to the hopeless. For women, it shows a woman exactly what men feel a lot of the times. Notice the 2 women in this song were not invalidating the man's feelings nor attacking him for it. Rather they showed love, support and apologizing. "You picked me up when I was broken, you piece together words that were not spoken, even when the world doesn't show you the same love." "Your heart is deserve enough show it, I see you for who you are, I hope that you know it" Ladies if you were to make these statements to your man, it would put the biggest smile on his face and make him feel comfortable in opening up. Ladies you have so much power to lift your man up. Use that power for good and not to demean him.

I work in hospital. I’ve seen dealt with some beyond horrific things. Things no one should have to see. When this happens during the job I have to push down the feelings that I’m feeling because I still have a job to do. I am already numb to some of these horrific things, I have to be. However if I don’t release these feelings, I’ll become numb to everything in life. As depicted in the third verse that’s when things start getting very dark for people, many times men.

I hear a lot about the bottling... but honestly when try to let it out it goes unheard or don't want to hear it or telling it to someone that has no clue lol, n not just as a man but being a man, like last therapist I saw, court mandatory, she was great, but I didn't even let her know 1/3rd my life and had her ready to cry, she ended up venting to me and whatever, which enjoyed seeing and talking and letting her vent, lol said was intimidated by me at first, we became friends...she helped me out a lot with legal crap, I've been thinking of reaching out to her because the bs been going through lately....

The life that i've been handed, is so hard to deal with. My mother died at 35 years old when i was only ten. oldest brother lost and eye, and was severly stabbed but surived, youngest brother hit by a car and put in coma, father mentally snaps and puts us into foster homes, going from foster home to foster home, come to find out that my father wasn't really my father when he was the only one i ever knew. I survived gang life. at 19 years old i fell 50 feet breaking my back, paralyzed from the waist down, never to walk again. but my fight was strong and i beat those odds and more. I've survived being homeless and picked myself up out of that while enduring all the pain and other things that resulted from my trauma. Survived this life with no money. No Hope. I kept all that bottled in, then one day i just started crying for no reason. it hit me like a tidal wave and i just couldn't stop crying. till this day, i haven't stopped crying. Pain and mistery was such a part of my life, that today when i see happy things on TV, instead of being happy, i cry. I've even come close toUN-ALIVE MYSELF. even said my goodyes to the people that mattered in my life. but ended up fighting cause that's what i do. anyways, this song, and every verse hits a sore spot in my soul. and it makes me cry like a baby every time. But, i haven't ever given up. I keep up my fight. And, sad as it may sound, all i do today is look forward to taking my last breath. Naturally. coming to that place where i take my last breath, will feel like being release from this phyical prison. BIG RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO ARE BOTH SO BROKEN THEY'RE EMOTIONALLY PARALYZED, AND THE ONES WHO FIGHT FOR THEIR SANITY. THIS LIFE IS HARD, AND ALL I WANT SOMETIMES ISTO FEEL A HUG AND HEAR "BABY, IT WILL BE OK". STAY UP. STAY STRONG. WE'LL BE REWARDED ON THE OTHER SIDE.

I've read all these replies, and yours broke me. I'm a long-time Vietnam Vet counselor. I had a Vet show up at my house one day, gun in hand, ready to stop, the pain of all those images in his head and heart. I sat on the edge of his car and said I'm here to listen to anything you want to say. I'm going to turn my back to you, and if you feel like talking, I'm going to listen. With my back turned, I could not see his face, and he could not see mine. He felt free to talk without any expression from me, and that is what he did. He spoke, cried, got angry, and for 6 hrs, he grieved all that had happened in his life. All that he had had to do as a Marine, the loss of his lower body from taking a bullet in Vietnam, the loss of intimacy with his wife. He felt like a failure when, in fact, he was a hero. I hear some of him in you, and I want you to know that you are not alone. True, I'm a woman, but that doesn't mean that I can't feel your pain. Please reach out for help in a support group or a therapist. Your life is worth it. You are worth it. My heart goes out to you for all the pain you've endured, but there's a way ahead, I just know it. God bless you.

So I've been meaning to do this for a while. This is my verse to dax song what it's like to be a man so here it is. I hope you enjoy Dax hook I can't hide myself I don't expect you to understand I just hope I can explain What it's like to be a man It's a lonely road And they don't care 'bout what you know It's not 'bout how you feel But what you provide inside that home My verse As a single full time father of 3 / 2 boys and a girl one autistic one with adhd/ Taking care of everything on my own trying to build a dream/ No one to to turn to when we face all of life's adversities / There's no movement for men were told to just keep moving/ Theirs no outlet from the pain no way to sooth it/ We just have to bottle the feeling and live an illusion/ We have to be our own savior somehow having to find a way to just do it / Our only value is how much we can provide / Having to stay strong to the world while at night we cry threw our eyes/ Knowing no one would care even if they saw threw us acting as If everything's alright / And if he says he's alright just know it's a lie / Cuz men know deep inside no one cares if we confide / About how we feel until we feel dead inside/ It's the unspoken truth that simple goes undressed / It's the cold hard truth we simply don't confess / I know this verse won't change a thing I just had to get it off of my chest/ Dax hook I can't hide myself I don't expect you to understand I just hope I can explain What it's like to be a man It's a lonely road And they don't care 'bout what you know It's not 'bout how you feel But what you provide inside that home

Like Ecclesiastes says, there's a time for everything under the sun. There's a time to mourn, and a time to hold it together. I think knowing the difference is part of learning to become a man. Sometimes you cry to God alone. But, let it out before it destroys you.

I am wondering, if some of this feeling of being used and neglected stems from the roles that females are taught an early age? Wives, mothers and homemakers. It is expensive, and we aim high. Many of us were led to believe we were getting a prince and a castle. Person's first.

The female parts are cool and fits nice in the song. Dax words I don't expect you to understand. Which is true. We don't expect women to understand it all. We as men desire to be respected, especially by women in our lives. Which is why we fear sharing everything, especially with the women in our lives. Which is why we need a group of men we can talk to. We just want women to realize that sometimes we are battling with demons we can't share with them, and all we need is respect and maybe a hug. We feel true or not that we don't have time to take a mental health day because we have kids to provide for and a wife whose respect we want. In a world where so many men are fleeing their responsibility, if you have a man that continues to show up and provide, just understand he has battles. So many choose to end it all as lyrics suggest many mennalready feel dead inside. Let your man know you care and appreciate him. This video doesn't suggest women don't have struggles or that they are aby less than a man's struggles. Just that because of social norms and expectations, we often walk the road alone, afraid to even share the experience with those close to us. We do we fear it because we are expected to be tough, and losing the respect of women in our lives would be worse than the silent struggle.

I love this song, I can relate to some of it of course. Luckily my wife an I have an awesome relationship, one I've never had before . Her kids and our daughter get to see us love each other everyday. I still struggle in some ways like all men do but listening to this and your commentary gives me some good ideas of how to be better than Iam now.

You are no less a man for seeking someone to talk to; in fact it takes courage to be vulnerable and open up. We fear judgement and the sting of a stigma called weakness. We ALL need help sometimes - I have yet to meet a therapist that shouldn't be seeing a therapist. And, yes, I am one (LMFT, AACC).

i keep on typing this this song being open verse should become the longest song ever written with the most contributing artists .get the message to jelly roll to add a chapter think of the potential.. and i think if we crown our king this is where elvis's should be passed because he demonstrates the example of a fair leader each of his subjects gets to lead through the openness of his example.. and it comes to us at a time when we have the least support and have to join together and rise up to bring a change to a world that must pull together or were lost .. and were at the biggest disadvantage we've ever had .. but this is the time and that's what we have to do.. so we will. and i'll throw in what makes this song special it's not just speaking on one element.. relationships, addiction, social pressure, emotional obligation, and the desire to persevere..

As a woman we have to be better about listening and understanding what men say are going through. It’s not weakness to want to be heard and to cry and if any woman says otherwise , Do better mental health matters ❤

BTW, anyone else realize the June is men’s mental health awareness month? No? I didn’t either, and didn’t see anything at all about it. Wonder why men don’t think our struggles are important? Thanks to Dax and the other artists for this.

Girls are born independent & talking shit which needs to be reigned in by their mom... boys are born much less independent & really need the nurturing of a mother until they're ready for their father to toughen them up. It's very important for a mom to be hard on her girls & not let a father be too hard too early bc these woman are crazy these days & our boys are bullied too early...my daughter is 19 in college & my son will graduate high school 2024. Even at 16 he's already working on cars & running heavy equipment with his dad. I still gotta tell her to not be seeking attn & get a damn hobby.

My son thought he had a soulmate until her sons stole from him and attacked him with knives when he came home and she sided with them because she always sides with them. He treated them so good too. Their real dad is a druggie and has nothing to do with them.

As a woman with two sons I truly belive that society today has made women that care less and less for men and their wellbeing. I think a large majority of women are taking a range of the sexist court systems to use men as checks for example and punishment for leaving them. Makes me terrified for my sons that no matter how I bring them up if the society around them making the potential spouses to be manipulators and liars as a means to “get the bag” I can’t trust people at face value because people seem to have lost nearly or morality it seems. This is just my perspective as a woman and now with two boys.

Can you do this song as it is very deep for many women out here today? It's by Paris Paloma called "LABOUR". The intense vocals paired with very deep emotional lyrics with a simple, yet meaningful and amazing video has a lot A LOT to deconstruct and talk about... I think it is great source material for Reaction Therapy and it has blown up lately....

Im known as the nonreligious one in the family and I agree with them.. But verse 2, Jesus it broke me in 2..i understood in that moment all the sacrifices my father had to make for us, ive never called him ao fast, ever. Like I did after hearing that, i apologized for ever being a lil s**t, for ever being a not so good daughter and I sent him this Remix, (dad REALLY DISLIKES RAP) but he called me half hour later crying, he said finally a female willing to see through a mans eyes..

So, how do you start? I lost my lower leg after losing everything from covid. I always question my worth and dream about getting laid off constantly. I have told my wife prior to the surgery how anxiety driven my days were becoming, I could see or maybe just feel the wow you’re being a baby, kinda reaction. So, nothing comes out now…it gets overwhelming

Completely and Utterly Off-Topic: I really wish you mental health care professionals would stop putting 10' tall fake plastic trees in your office lobbies. I'm schizophrenic and those trees feel like they are just waiting for me to look away so they can choke me out. 3' tall plants with broad leaves are fine. Just, please, stop with the creeping branch-looking Gandalf/LotR trees in the office.
