They say BTS comes into your life when you need them and it's certainly true. I'm 57 and UK army. I can't express enough how much I admire and respect them. They were so badly mistreated it was a crime. My heart broke for them I actually cried because they are the sweetest kindest people. Army are almost 1 billion strong and growing. There are army over 80 years of age. We love their personalities their messages and the love they show ARMY. I love all 7 of these amazing men from South Korea. I do have a soft spot for Jimin because he is uniquely talented. He is a black belt in Taekwondo and is a Kendo master. He is also a classically trained dancer and was top student. He learned popping and locking and can do many different styles of dance. He has ethereal beauty and many straight men fall for his charm. Once you Jim in you can't Jim out. I hope you enjoy your trip down the BTS rabbit hole and discover more about each member. I feel you will become ARMY very soon.

To put IT in to perspective, There were 3 big leading companies SM entertainment, JYP and YG. That ruled the charts with their groups. BigHit was a very a very smal fish in a big sea of sharks.. people would do anything to keep Them small.. That's when there came the false accusations, dead threads and more!! And now they are the nr 1 TopDog Company in South Korea, all thanks to BTS But they overcame this bY hard work, talent, dedication and motivation.... And that's why, we as Army are very protective off 7 precious men. BTW the Taylor Nakamotto documantary is the most updated and highlights all the members each by each 🤯💜 Last weekend JHope one off the rappers, did a solo performance at Lolapalooza and he turned IT into Hobipalooza (Hobi is his Nickname) And there were more than a 100.000 people in the crowd. He even got the record for selling the most and fastest tickets in 31 years 🤯 BTS power has no bounderies 💜💜 Greetz from the Netherlands ✌️🇳🇱💜

They say "BTS finds you when you need them the most", and I am just one of the millions on this planet. I was at the lowest point in my life, but BTS and ARMY have brought my life so much joy and LOVE. Some see BTS as an ideal form of society. The diversity of those 7 members, the differences in their personalities, ages, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses!! And yet they have the deepest love and respect for each other. They have always tried to be open and vulnerable, and show us good and bad so ARMY do not just idealize or worship those beautiful boys (though they are indeed), but we try to be a better human like BTS. Oh, I can't forget to mention that they are DAMN funny without even trying.

Heads up: You can't like mayonnaise AND BTS. Just kidding! They are not mutually exclusive! BUT thank you for watching this introduction to the greatest music artists in the world. They ARE a phenomenon. For so many reasons. One is their ongoing humility despite their huge global success. How can you NOT love them?

BTS' music is worth buying every download, but BTS' company are marketing geniuses which makes buying physical albums a must for fans like me. They never skimp. Each album is packaged BEAUTIFULLY, including items like booklets with lyrics/translations; notes written by the members about their inspiration for the lyrics; photocards, posters, stickers, etc.... Every album I've bought I've always felt I've gotten more than my money's worth. And I don't even understand a lick of Korean - I'm in the 4% (personally I feel like that category has growth tremendously in the part several years since this video was made) of ARMYs over age 50 - I'm a 53-y.o. wife and mom of three from Texas who discovered BTS three years ago and I've never stanned a group this hard since my early teens. I've never liked pop music or 'boy bands' (I'm an alt-rock-only fan my whole life) but BTS breaks all those molds and is well beyond either of those categories. No Western artist sings, raps, dances, genre-hops, and performs their own music on BTS' level - especially not any other group. BTS is in a class by themselves. I get a ton of flack from close-minded family & friends for being a fan (they see attractive young men and assume they are talentless pretty-boys, and consider the 'language barrier' to be an insurmountable barrier to their attention to the music), but I couldn't care less. BTS brings positivity and joy into my life, they're worth my time.

Kpop albums are practically collector items. They come with the cd, stickers, posters, photo cards, etc, and the packaging is really beautiful. A lot of people collect and trade the photo cards. Additionally, for a while BTS had a fictional story line running through several of their music videos (as well as a webtoon), and they would include Notes related to the storyline in their albums. :) Most ARMY diligently purchase physical albums both to support our artists and to add to our collection.

Hi! Thank you for watching this great intro video. I would like to add to recommendations that you also watch the Bangtan 7 by Taylor as it is the absolute most up to date (and in my opinion best) introduction to the members as individuals. Also, to answer your question about whether there was any truth to the accusations regarding chart manipulation (and later plagiarism), both accusations were proved false in some cases having even been taken as far as court. That is why xceleste can so confidently say 'false' accusations. If you pause at that point you'll see she screen captured a news article that actually addresses the fact that the accusations were proven to be false. :)

It's amazing how the 7 of them, being so different, can get along so well. That's what I find the strangest thing. That and also how they ended up together because really a lot of things were coincidences. RM, the leader, joined the Big Hit company because he was recommended by a rapper after failing an audition in another company. Jin while getting off a bus to go to the university was seen by an agent of the company and was told to audition because of how handsome he was. On the other hand SUGA saw by chance the audition flyer and was encouraged. He won the second place in the competition and joined the company to be a producer but was later convinced by the CEO to join BTS. J-Hope already passed the casting in another renowned company but still decided to join the Big Hit company although it was much smaller at that time. Jimin was encouraged by one of his dance teachers and was the last member selected, among many trainees, to join the group with just 6 months of training. V went to the casting just to accompany a friend and a company worker told him to try out. He was the only one in his city to pass the auditions. And finally Jungkook auditioned in a competition and was not selected but 7 different companies wanted him. Among all of them JK chose Big Hit (now HYBE), which at that time was the smallest and least influential, just because he thought RM was cool. As I was saying, it's all pretty unbelievable.

I think RM described their relationship like they are on a boat heading to the same destination but they are all looking in different directions. It's almost like a marriage in some ways. You may disagree on a lot but at the end of the day you have to compromise and do what's best for the group as a whole.

Right, I was also a fan of 1D, but I don't think it's right to compare them to anyone. There's basically nothing to compare to BTS, they faced a lot of false accusations and hardships in general and still made their way up to the top, while breaking records they set for themself. That's why they got so big in popularity, because they're genuine and down to earth. Also I'm glad you watched this video before checking out more of their music, it gave you a clearer message of who they are as artists. Hi, i am back. Nice reaction, ty. Thanks for checking out more BTS! i am glad u are learning more and asking questions. Korean albums are different. Try to get Proof its their anthology album, 3 CDs, photobook, lyric book, and photo cards PCs. Those are collectables. They put so much thought into their albums. That is why we buy them. We collect them to support the band. Many army buy albums and don't have CD players. So they buy CD players. Yes, it's a thing. BTS are humble and super talented yep, yep. Pls watch next Life Goes On(LGO). It is a lovely song. JK filmed it. =0] In 2019 I found out my mom had breast cancer. She was dying in front of my eyes with no treatment. I am a cancer survivor and this was very painful for me. I am an artist and former art teacher. I deal with anxiety and depression since my youth. Sadly, the mental health struggle let me to loose my art for many years. It was like i lost part of my soul. I have been trying to find it again but nothing lasted for long. When BTS found me I really did not know how much I needed them and army. They gave me back my art! They gave me stress relief and strength to fight for my mom's life. These days I have a small business on twt selling my BTS fan art sculptures. Go figure. My mom is getting treatment and is doing better physically but not so great mentally. So am still stressed but BTS and Army are there in support. So i can deal. I hope mom lives for many more years. Later's. #YouAreEnough Have a good week! -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜 JK youngest vocalist is a sub rapper. J-Hope the 3rd rapper is a sub vocalist. BTS = Bangtan Seoyeondan (in Korean) aka Bulletproof Boy Scouts (translated). Next BTS reaction - Your Eyes Tell, Mic Drop ft. Steve Aoki, Fake Love, DNA, Boy with Luv ft. Halsey, Black Swan, ON: Kinetic Manifesto film, Fire, Not Today, Save Me, Blood Sweat & Tears, Idol, Dope (and pls don't forget to turn on the subtitles, ty:)), I guess u should also watch Who Is BTS, This Is BTS: Introduction (part 1), BTS contribution to music, BTS from nobodies to legend 2019. "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS" 2022 by Rice Squad. If u want to know them more :) Btw there are 7 members of BTS (3 rappers & 4 vocalist). Also, the name of fandom is called ARMY. Zizi K. said on 6/23/21 Kpop is not a genre actually, it's an industry because groups can choose whatever genre they want. I know you can listen to like one or two songs from a singer or group and get the gist of their sound but with BTS, their discography is so varied that you need to listen to a variety of the music to get who they are. Rayna said on 1/29/22 The first thing to understand is, that "K-Pop" is not really just a genre, it's more a whole industry.. As SUGA (one of the BTS members) once said: "I’m a little careful to talk about K-pop as a genre, because I don’t want to be defining Kpop as a genre. I’m a little bit wary of that, but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content.' K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.” BTS is more than just K-Pop. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists in BTS. Also I recommend you some songs, that show their diversity: - ON Kinetic Manifesto Film (Music Video) - Mic Drop (Music Video) - Blood, Sweat & Tears (Music Video) - Blue & Grey (MTV Unplugged) - Dis-ease (Lyric video) - Magic Shop (Live) only the rapline: - Outro: Tear (Live) - UGH (Lyric Video) - Cyphers 1-4 (Lyric Video) & Cypher Medley only the vocal line: - The Truth Untold (Live) - House of Cards (Live) - Dimple (Live) I was also never a boyband kinda girl... My taste is/was more stuff like Disturbed, Papa Roach, Flogging Molly etc., until I found them and I'm so glad I did. 😁👍💜 Jade Melon said on 6/23/21 Their voices are easy to tell apart because only 4 are vocalists, each with distinct voices: Jin, 30yo, the tall lanky one has a "lifted palette" sound and is great at hitting those piercing/belting notes. Jungkook, youngest member 25yo, has the quintessential pop sound (think Bieber) and has the most control over his voice which is why he usually does the runs and ad libs (though Jimin has a lot of awesome ad libs in this particular song). Jimin, 27yo, pretty, lead dancer, is known for his airy light delicate voice. He has some of the most beautiful range of tones IMO V, 27yo, has the gorgeous, round, soulful voice, and can go low and deep but also high and belting (really, all the singers in BTS have an amazing vocal range and can all go high) Once you get the singers out of the way, then you have the 3 rappers. These are easy, cuz there's less of them...and they have their own distinct style. This song doesn't really show the rappers' full capability, but you can still get a glimpse of those unique styles: Suga, 29yo, 2nd rapper, lead , usually has a slightly, how-do-I explain it....low-key savage/dangerous tone? and a little bit of a lisp. He plays with his voice sometimes using inflection on certain words. RM, 29yo, 1st rapper, main (official leader of BTS), has a very solid American rapper boom-bap style. Deep voice. Can sound smooth or aggressive. J-Hope, 29yo, 3rd rapper, lead, usually he's the "hype" rapper of the group songs and singles, but he is a talented rapper in his own right. He has the most distinctive voice IMO, very laid-back vibe, but can be savage and sarcastic sounding. Main dancer. To watch (vids) a suggestion from twt army; “BTS bothering Suga for seven minutes straight” “RM being done with America for ten minutes straight” “Suga being savage compilation” “Jungkook being the golden maknae for five minutes straight” “learn the alphabet with BTS” “BTS betraying each other(run BTS).”

Ooh, I want to give a little bit more explanation abt the sajaegi accusations bc while the ones I'm seeing in the comments are right, I don't see anyone going really into it. *(Disclaimer: long comment)* To set the scene: When PSY's *Gangnam Style* in 2012 basically opened the west to the fact that kpop exists, there hadn't been a kpop group/artist to come out to rival PSY's impact in the following years, despite numerous grps from the big kpop companies trying to market specifically in the west. And a lot of Korean ppl thought kpop would only become a niche thing in the west and would only be big in eastern Asia. When BTS debuted, they actually had a decent audience reception in South Korea, but bc they were from a small company, they also didn't have any real media play to hype up this reception, which is a norm for grps in big companies. So, there was this perception that BTS weren't that successful, at least not enough to rival grps that were way big. They _were_ successful; but it wasn't the type of success to get the kpop gen public to believe they would be anything big. And they slowly but steadily grew more successful each year too (if you check out their sales numbers). It still couldn't be considered "making it" but they did well enough to win "Rookie of the Year" in a major music award show the year of their debut. But it wasn't until 2 years later when they released their _HYYH p1_ album, that I would consider their first real notable spike in popularity came abt, and that's when the accusations flew in. However, this is focusing on South Korea. Internationally, on the other hand, they were also making waves since debut. And ones that would quickly become enormous. There were a number of factors that allowed them to quickly gain numerous international fans (loads of free online content on globally accessible social media platforms that wasn't really the norm with kpop grps, really fun/engaging/good content, enthusiastic fan translators, etc.). And despite kpop not grabbing mainstream attention, there was still a growing international community that were interested in it (and other things from South Korea, like kdramas or food) as well. I liken kpop a lot with how anime became so big. But for an international fan, supporting your fav kpop grp was super hard back then. You couldn't buy any of their merch, including the music, unless you were able to have access to niche carriers for them and buying directly from SK was killer on the wallet, esp with the cost of shipping (BTS's impact actually changed that and got chain stores to finally sell kpop merch; I remember that, for awhile, BTS items were the only things in Target, but I digress). A lot of the fan voting for music charts and awards was only accessible if you had a Korean ID/phone number/acct, so one of the few ways for international fans to have any impact on the charts would be to buy the albums. When BTS came out with their _HYYH p1_ album, they actually topped the Hanteo (and also later Gaon) music chart, beating out the then-currently considered most popular kpop act (and from a big company). Hanteo records charting sales in real time. When BTS reached #1, ppl noticed their numbers spiked, including a moment with an additional 4K sales that was updated in around 6 minutes. So, other ppl couldn't believe that they were able to do this legitimately and started accusing them of chart manipulations. And it got _really_ bad. Remember how I said they didn't have much media on them? Well, after that, so much of the media was covering these accusation stories and blew these allegations up, and netizens piled onto the hate bandwagon against them without waiting to hear any official explanations on it. So many fan theories were taken as the truth instead. [A gold moment was when Bighit finally made an official statement and said they couldn't do chart manipulating anyways bc they lacked the resources for it.] But ppl still demanded that the charts provide an answer over why they allowed this manipulation and even went so far as filing a lawsuit against Bighit abt it (that was later thrown out). Hanteo gave their official explanation that only _domestic sales_ were recorded in real time, while any sales done internationally were collected and recorded at once and that's were numbers came from. And that's how it was cleared up (personally, I think this was also the time ppl really took notice that BTS were popular outside of Korea). International fans also found out abt this after fan translators shared the news and some even took it upon themselves to post an explanation in Korean fan/news sites abt how many foreign fans there were and how foreign fans could only buy albums to support Korean artists. And in the next comeback, they posted pictures of sales and orders for the next album so no one would be able to question the spikes. Hope this explains it! Anyone feel free to correct/add anything.

Definitely watch Taylor's video. There is also another good one that documents their journey from Rice Squad (originally Asian Theory) titled 'A Story of BTS'. Glad you are seeing the light. I am 69.5 years old so I was a teenager in the Beatles era & of course I've heard the music from all groups since. I have been following BTS since 2016. They were not my first Korean group, but they are in a category all by themselves. For the record, I am a white female 8th generation American grandmother. My youngest just turned 33. You asked if there might have been any truth to the claims that BTS's company was manipulating the charts in any way. For one thing, their company was near bankruptcy at the time and didn't have a cent. The thing that caused the speculation is this...BTS from the beginning had a global fandom because of their constant social media content and interactions. Other groups were more popular in Korea, but BTS was more popular worldwide. This caused fans of other groups to assume that BTS was cheating because they somehow beat out the most popular groups in Korea (who didn't have overseas fans). There is also always a lot of rumours caused by fans of other groups...they are annoyed that their group got beat out, so they start spreading rumours. It's sad but very true. BTS , despite all their successes, remain humble and grateful and give all the credit for their success to ARMY....very rare for top level artists who usually become a bit arrogant. Thanks for taking the time to get to know them better.

Don’t feel bad, it’s hard for us, western people, to understand why a pop group grow so much. Must people think it’s because their pretty faces, sticky songs and superficial things, it’s what we know! Of course the first thing we think is that they are another pop group being big couse fangirls trip over them. That’s why ARMY make those videos, we wanna people to experience what we do, to feel their songs fully, to be better people too! Their saved millions lives everyday! Well, they save me too!! I was at the bottom, depressed, confused, I was at my early 20 when I found them, and god! They saved me, they showed me that life is hard, of course it is, but if we give up and hate ourselves, it makes a lot harder! They showed us what is important in life, they gave us a reason to keep living and keep trying our best, cause they don’t hide their week side too! They showed us their struggles, their depression, their troubles and showed us that we can too overcome that Is not only a matter of good songs, and good people involved, it’s changing lives, is making a world a better and more loving space to live. They showed us that kill with kindness really pay off. I hope that for now on you ( PLEASE) put the captions on and really listen to the message, you are doing good, really! We love sincerity and we feel that through your videos! Please let BTS in to your life, I can promise you that you won’t regret it. Also, please listen to BTS - Magic Shop, this song made by the youngest in the group really show their sincerity. By the way, I’m really trying my best to write correctly but I’m a Portuguese speaker as I am brazilian. So please don’t mind any mistakes okay? Please continue this journey with us

I'd like to make a comment about your question, "I wonder if there is any truth behind that (sajaegi)..." I think while you were talking, you missed Celeste's voiceover about why there is no truth behind that accusation. Big Hit was struggling financially and their company was near bankruptcy at that time. Pulling off a scam like Sajaegi is expensive and has an estimated cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars (minimum in order to actually make it in Korea's top 10)... Since you missed what Celeste said, I will repeat it here: There is no truth to Sajaegi bc Big Hit simply didn't have the funds to pull off such a scam like that. Sajaegi was purely a *false* accusation about BTS in order to bring them down.
