The video was not planned, well it was…. The drummer “Will” Mum died the day before, they had a different video planned, the film crew was booked, it was there first real video, the rest of the band looked after Will, sent Chris off to film something, they went to the beach early and the sun came up, beautiful song, makes me think of the song my mum sang to me as a baby… you are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when sky’s are grey. And the sun is yellow

I attended a U2 concert at the Tacoma Dome in April, 2001. Seattle rock radio station, KISS FM, compiled and handed out a cd of up and coming bands. Yellow was on it. I was an instant Coldplay fan❤️

That voice is out of this world

When i first heard coldplay i used to think it was like taking paracetamol and the brain goes a bit numb, but it is recently that i have learnt to really appreciate their songwriting and composition

It rained all day and they finally abandoned the first idea of the video, full of people on the beach. They told the wet extras to go home and Chris Martin grabbed the cameraman : I have an idea, let's try at least one last thing.

Sorry to hear that! I think this song actually greatly captures that feeling of unrequited love, feeling really devoted to someone and wanting to do the most for them but having it not be reciprocated is very difficult! Hope things got better since that for you

You should listen to trouble by Coldplay it's from the same album and was huge here in the UK it's one of my favourite Coldplay songs

I think my absolute favorite song of Coldplay is the song "Paradise" from their record "Mylo Xyloto". Coldplay have got many great songs but none beats this one in my opinion.

Coloratura by Coldplay is my favorite but they have tons of excellent songs. If you like videos, try The Scientist, Up & Up, Strawberry Swing (videos are masterpieces)
