I was conducting a 1st amendment audit on fishkill correctiobal facility in NYS. When a Sgt. & LT. Came out and called the state police for recording. During this audit I was able to speak briefly with an inmates.

    I don't know if failure is the right word. They made a request not a demand. You denied their request without them illegally interfering. They have a right to ask what they wish, you had the right to deny. Not accepting you with open arms but not a fail.

    Honestly his Zen helps me mentally prepared for if im ever in a similar situation. Also im learning a lot about police encounters that aren't violent. (Whtch is what you usually see, even though most encounters are non-violent.)

    Dude was walking on the non-sidewalk side when there was a sidewalk available AND was walking with traffic as opposed to against it. That's a ticketable offense in New York. Captain was actually in the right there.

    I think anyone should feel free to call the police at any time. Let the police decide if a crime is being committed and how to handle the encounter. I'm not saying the police do a good job of it, although this guy was pretty polite. Like it our not, the law, as interpreted by the courts, says they can ask for ID even when it is not required.

    Everybody has their own way of doing things.. L.i.a has a cool approach others may come out their face to cops because maybe where they come from cops are real aholes maybe they been arrested a bunch of times on bugus B.s Most of these cops are uneducated aholes who dnt know the law or constitution that's they swore an oath to protect or dnt care want to violate peoples right because they are on power trip although I may not just be nasty doing audit I sure as hell will not allow anybody cop or not to try an bully me disrespect me I treat people with respect until they over step think they have authority over me my parents were the only ones that had authority over me so everybody no matter if we dnt agree have a right to treat cops the way they see fit we the people pay them with our tax dollars.

A maximum B prison in NYS next door to Green correctional facility a medium A facility.. both are prisons that are full of mostly younger inmates with long prison sentences .. prison guards at both facility’s mostly coxsackie are said to be really hands on with assaulting the inmates in some cases beating them to death

    @@billy8216 Of course I would, I might even go ask them. What I wouldn't do is to force them to stop filming by telling lies and threaten them. Also, my home isn't paid for by tax payers. It's paid for by me. The problem with guys like these is not that they come out and ask, it the approach and the misplaced self entitlement and lack of knowledge of the law that is disturbing.

    I believe we need all kinds of auditors to test those in positions of authority. A frustrating interaction can tell a lot about leos emotional intelligence. I prefer polite, but most styles are useful in the big scheme of things.

    One of the scariest places I've ever worked was in a medium security prison. It took years to get over the PTSD .. I commend anyone Going into those hell holes. The best decision I ever made for my sanity was to change my career. That captain looked tired stressed and burnt. I know that look.

    LIA this is the second or third video I saw regarding a correction facility. I don't know if you realize when they read a statement to you (to intimidate) it clearly states what they read to you is about on the facility property not your particular case as your in public. I just point this out because you usually correct people to teach them when they get it wrong. Thanks for all your videos 😀

    It's hard to tell if that is the case, or they know it but were given orders.to do so by their superior or policy. It could be they case that they don't want to do it and know they are wrong but they need the job. After, everyone is always "just following orders". It constructed that way by design, endless layers to go up, and then there will be a peice of paper at the end, no one anywhere to be held accountable.

    I appreciate his calm demeanor as well but police will deal with all kinds of people in this world and need to learn to respect everyone’s rights ….even difficult people .

    Wardens written rules, policy, same as the chief judges written rules when in a courthouse, their rules/policy don’t trump your rights as concerning public photography as you’re fully aware of. Good job once again.

    Auburn maximum correctional in Cayuga County near the finger lakes. Surrounded by urban residential. Would be a potential site for audit.
