This might be his best song and performance, I adore this! The song is written in such a creative way. I have two interpretations of this: A guy that is head over heels in love with what he thinks is the perfect girl (but he's in love with the image he paints of her), and she's trying to put him back down to earth and be more realistic about it. Or two people trying to downplay themselves in a relationship that they both want to get out of but no one wants to be the one that breaks up, or maybe conflicting feelings of "I want to belong with you, but it doesn't work out, but I can't leave because I'm afraid of being alone". You are my chains = holding her down. No I'm your anchor = want to keep her (or himself) grounded and safe. My wings = making me fly high, no you are a fish (making her drown?). My river - you make me want to move and float away (?) no, I'm your drain = I take care of all your waste... dump all your problems on me. You can see me = listen to me, this is me, she says.. No I just sense = he stays in the imaginary image of her that he created to make himself feel good. No, I'm just your maid = someone who does all the emotional labor for him?

One of my favourite Asaf songs. This has such simple lyrics on the face of it yet when you stop and think, they are really deep. Such a wonderful performer and I can't think of many other artists who sings with such passion.

He's the whole package: super talented, original and unique, style, class and a good person! This has become one of my top favorites, too.

There are so many layers in this song, both lyrically and musically. You are right, you can't get it all in one listen. And, IMO, that is part of what makes a great song. I haven't begun to understand everything yet in just one listen, and that's the way I like it. This man is such a consumate artist.

What a master musician!! An incredible performance!!! It's crazy how he can make his guitar sound... Ingenious lyrics. So much emotion it touches into the recesses of my soul. Right! He's playing the guitar like a lap steel guitar. Not an uncommon technique, but Asaf utilizes everything within his reach. He's like a mad scientist!!! He's a beautiful blend of old and new- the antique mixed in with the modern. So amazing!

My interpretation of the lyrics is of two people who're in a relationship, obviousely with deep feelings for one another, but are afraid to commit - to become a real 'significant other', and so they are diminishing every ajective that the other expresses, to get off the hook.
