I believe having Gojo and Makima be from the same Japan actually does something for both characters. First, it obviously puts Gojo within her contract with the Prime Minister as you and DB have pointed out, which I think deepens the debate not just because we have to consider his odds of accidentally killing himself, but also adds to the urgency of whether he could kill her before those odds could affect him, depending on whether you believe you have to get her to expend every citizen of Japan first to permanently kill her or if you can kill her in a way that bypasses the contract. Regardless, advantage point for Makima. On the other hand, Gojo's status and reputation within JJK's universe as the strongest sorcerer now actually comes into play since Makima would be aware of his presence and it's effect on the world and the strength of modern curses, and leads into DB's speculation that she likely wouldn't be able to immediately control him until she could prove or demonstrate her superiority over him to herself, which is actually 😊shown in the animation by her realizing she can use her Bang move to bypass limitless and hurt Gojo. Advantage point for Gojo In other words, I think their same-Japan stipulation is a neat way to legitimize some of their biggest advantages to keep the debate more interesting (or fair as they put it)

Im so excited for Scooby vs Courage and the fact this fight is the first toon force vs toon force fight make me more excited i grew up watching Scooby-Doo and only seeing one episode of courage at babysitting gonna be a very fun episode!

Makes me wonder who has the edge. Personally I say Courge because he survived a LOT even having his head cut off. Scooby tends to be able to get out of situations before he gets harmed. Though I definitely know they're going to bring up how Scooby was the one that defeated the Nibiru Entity which was like one of the strongest beings in Scooby Doo period

nah the contract switches damage from makima to a citizen not an insta kill. if gojo doesnt destroy her head/ gut instantly he will regenerate. because reverse curse technique comes from the gut and is controlled with the brain

Overall I'm satisfied. This is a very interpretational debate so I can't hate them for saying what they believe and sticking to it. Plus Gojo won for more or less the reasons I expected anyway. Great reaction 👍

We’ve been getting banger match after banger match for several matches now. Scooby vs Courage sounds like it’ll be a ton of fun As for this matchup, I’m actually quite pleased that Deathbattle delved pretty deep into both Gojo’s and Makima’s kit to attempt to figure out how their unique powers, contracts, & abilities would interact with one another. This definitely was a fight where stats didn’t matter so much, and it boiled down to whose hax could outdo the other. Overall, I do agree with the result after getting a better understanding on how Gojo’s Limitless, Horizon Purple & Domain Expansion work. Makima proved to be a difficult opponent to put down thanks to her contracts, having a way to bypass Limitless with instantaneous attacks via her finger guns, and Gojo potentially killing himself if he wasted Makima too many times before he found a way to permanently put her down. It was a tricky match, but kudos to Gojo for having the right amount of Versatility, Self-Regen, & the tools to keep himself safe long enough to incapacitate Makima long enough to atomize her. I was thoroughly entertained with this match, and I left pretty satisfied overall.

I predict that the season finale to be Rick Sanchez vs The Doctor (Rick and Morty vs Dr Who). Mainly because of the running theme of a lot of DB casts becoming actual episodes this season. Plus, I think it was teased during Bill and Discords fight.

Scooby versus Courage is a really interesting match-up that could be a lot closer that people think. Until we see the previews for the episode, I lean toward Courage getting the win. However, Scooby has a lot of material for them dig through and he crosses over with a lot of different universes. So it wouldn’t surprise me if they find something that gives Scooby the victory over Courage. There is one thing I could see them giving Scooby, that could give Courage some trouble and potentially tip this match-up in Scooby’s favor. The Super Scooby Snacks from Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue! For those who don’t know, these are special Scooby Snacks infused with a special nanotechnology formula created by Shaggy’s uncle. And when Scooby eats one of these snacks he gets some insane abilities. These snacks have given Scooby super strength, super and hyper speed, elasticity like Mr Fantastic and Elastigirl, the ability to create a shield like force field, the ability to duplicate himself, the ability to go invisible and one even turned him into a giant freaking robot. Basically, if the Super Scooby Snacks are in play for this Death Battle, Courage is gonna be in deep trouble. Because I don’t know what kind of answers Courage would have for these abilities.

Just think if Wile v Tom (my favorite Looney Toon ever v my favorite show ever growing up) wins the DB Tournament of Champions poll, then that will be the ultimate toon force action.

Scooby vs Courage gave me more hype than Gojo vs Makima. Childhood Nostalgia incoming and I dare say, it could very well be my favorite episode of Death Battle yet :D

You see from tatsumaki/mob to DioCard to this how hand drawn segments in 2d fights improve drastically! For the research part. Yeah, the wording seems shift to support the winner as much as possible even in categories it Logically shouldn't. The power gap is like 2x and thus makima's is considered "nothing in comparison" but the gap in speed of 1.7 is "fairly" quicker. Similar to Guts vs Dimitri, Guts is 2.4 times faster and has a "slight speed advantage"

Because at the end of mystery incorporated he survived the universe being destroyed and recreated(not to mention the powers he gets from DC crossovers) and I don’t see how courage is anywhere near strong enough to hurt him

I'm not really a fan of how Makima has to be nerfed or have a lot of her kit taken away to make it fair for Gojo but I still found it an enjoyable episode to watch.

it was a good time 6/10 the characters: it was good learning about gojo and Makima like gojo being the strongest in his world and makima being the villain the whole time was good to learn and gojo 6th eyes and makima can Control Devil the track was good i like it lot not fireborn lot but a good lot the fight: it was fun but a bit short but it was fun to see makima devils and gojo Purple void was great to see conclusion i still need to watch to understand but i do understand some of it like gojo is stronger and makima being faster, makima has some ways to get past gojo infinity but gojo can give makima too much information and the void can kill makima next time i was shock that scooby vs courage this will be interesting to see

But Makima damage transfer makes a citizen take damage or an illness that is appropriate to the damage she took. It doesn't just take the type of damage and put it on someone else it replicates the damage in whatever form that resembles the original source of damage. The mind control break was an ass pull I watched both jjk and chainsaw man nowhere in jjk as anyone broke out of mind control using reverse CT. Reverse CT only heals your body and alters the function of your innate CT. The healing function they also got wrong which is crazy since they read the Sukuna fight where it states that using reverse CT causes a CT burn out preventing you from healing for an extended period of time unless you hit a black flash to increase your CT output to bypass the burnout but even then you would have to first heal the CT brun out than the brain to continue healing. Gojo winning was a them simping for Gojo.

To your first point we've never seen Makima undergo what is basically molecular disassembly. From what we've seen the attack must conclude before her contract kicks in to put her back together. I could maybe see an argument if she could burn citizens to keep from dying, but I don't think that's how it works. Not only that but her contract with the Prime Minister can be worked around. Like off the top of my head if the entire Japanese government was killed that would probably nullify the contract. Since she can't work for a government that doesn't exist. Actually in that case burning her meat shields to live might work against her as she would eventually sacrifice the Government to try and survive. Second Her mind control causes memory loss. Which does hint at some kind of brain damage. In theory Using a Reverse Curse Technique should restore any damage caused by her control. Edit: That said they actually did provide examples of Gojo breaking out of Mind Control (Hanami's Flower Field) and Makima's Control failing (Against the Angel and Power Demons) And finally we know that Gojo can swap back and forth between using Reverse Curse Technique and using his regular Curse Technique. He would literally heal back up after each domain clash with Sakuna before launching into another one. This included healing his burnout. The problem arises when he does this constantly in a short time without allowing his Cursed Energy to build back up. He has seemingly endless amounts of Cursed Energy because of his near zero output due to his precise control. It's not that it's an impossibility, but rather it's not possible for a normal sorcerer to do.

Makima and Hanami don’t even scale to each other because Makima’s control ability is much more on a higher scale. Even with Angel Devil, she just said another command and he was back into her contract. And if we were going by verse equalization, Gojo is still human all the same, he’s not immune to mind control. Honestly the whole fight was flawed from the jump. For the simple fact that she automatically looks down in all humans, and in truth, no human has ever broken her mind control, everyone who did break it were connected to devils. That’s not just a theory, that all happened in manga. But let’s say that Gojo could break free and she had to weaken him to get control, she could simply look at him doing damage to his brain which is a sure fire hit to kill a sorcerer who can use Reverse Healing, and Makima can still control you after you’re dead. The only reason she couldn’t get Denji and Pochita is because of her “love” for Chainsaw Devil and what she thought Chainsaw Devil would be, that was her downfall, the same can’t be for Gojo. Because Gojo doesn’t have a Devil inside him, she manipulated Denji because she couldn’t control him, but that was because of Pochita, not Denji. The thing with Power was her love for Denji, not just her willpower. It’s more than just someone breaking free of her control because it’s not as basic as DB showed.
