I was gifted a 15 lb kettlebell years ago from a family member when I started kettlebelling -- I'm pretty sure she bought it at Walmart. I have never really used it but the other day I decided to use it to practice the sequence of Turkish Getups before using a heavier weight and man oh man did that thing hurt my wrists (it hurt on the left side but for the sake of symmetry, I had to also hurt my right side before I could stop the refamiliarization drill LOL). I have two competition adjustable kettlebells and those work beautifully. That 15 lb kettlebell and the other ones I bought from Walmart years ago work well for some things like single leg RDLs and bottoms up exercises but not well for things like cleans, snatches, getups and windmills. Geometry definitely matters when it comes to kettlebells.

Yeah, I've got all hard style bells, the lighter ones actually hurt my wrists more than the heavier ones because of how they rest on my arm. I'm too invested by now to switch to competition bells. Having boney firearms just sucks with either, which is what I have!😂

I have a 15lb that was on sale at a Marshall's. It is not shaped like a kettlebell but in a circle. I can put my shoulder through it. I can't comfortably swing. But I have made it work for now as I wait for the sand I bought to dry out to be put into my sandbag kettlebell (25lb.) I plan on using that 25lb for a long while, as that is the female standard. If the shipping isn't too bad, I might save up for these.

@@farstrider79I recently purchased four new competition kettlebells from bells of steel but prior to that much of my gym equipment (bars, plates, dumbbells & kettlebells) have been from craigslist, a commercial gym that went out of business and fb marketplace. Oh, I put together pullups bars using pipe from the hardware store and a "rolling thunder" using PVC pipe and have been able to keep the costs down.

  • @CarbageMan

At 60, micro-loading has been so important to me! Also, the fit and finish of the Wildman Edition is much nicer than similar kettlebells. Not including all the weights to go to 32k in one box and making them optionally available was also a great idea. The only criticisms I can think of are that I'd like them to include a second nut in the package (to better balance the weight) and It would be great if a rubber coat was an option (but I don't know how resilient they are.) It might be nice if the little one was full size and aluminum, or something like that, because I think there's value in it being full size but lighter. PS: All that said, BoS seems to be best of class equipment.

Received new 6-12 kg Mark II KB but there were no tools in the box! So I have an adjustable kettlebell that I cannot adjust. Sent emails and voicemail yesterday morning to Bells of Steel but no response as of tonight. No one answers at the customer service number. Am willing to purchase hex key but can’t find info about size. Can anyone provide me with hex key size? And also size of nut once I get the KB open? I assume a regular wrench will work at that point, but I would like to get the proper tools if I can. I am a retired woman and don’t have anything other than basic bike tools, which are all too small. Thank you!

I have ordered both tools and hope to be able to adjust my new KB in a couple of days. Hex key = 10mm; nut wrench = 35mm. PS -still no reply from Bells of Steel to my voicemail/emails.

I could get 7 competition kettlebells for the same price as one from 10kg to 32kg with incrementation of 2-4kg and save me the trouble of always ajusting the weight. Besides to save some space, this really isn't worth the price tag unfortunately.
