We need to promote that the 4th of July is in honor and recognition of the day of our INDEPENDENCE from the oppression of England. Too many don’t know that is what today is in celebration of. More are aware of the meaning of the celebrations of Cinco de Mayo or other non US festivities than realize we celebrate our country’s INDEPENDENCE on this date. It isn’t just a day off for bbq & fireworks.
