Actually it would be MUCH easier for any of the heroes to be in the Secret Wars. In the original Secret Wars, the Beyonder was about as OP as they come. By my estimates, maybe 3% as tough as the Living Tribunal. That's insane. Certainly he's more powerful than all the infinity stones combined. The Beyonder is like Grand Zeno from Dragonball, on steroids. He's even more powerful and even more childish. At one point he destroyed death itself. Nothing could die. This is the power level of the final boss in the story. They de-powered him a bit later for the cartoons, but this is a movie. We'll see. Anyway, in the story... The Beyonder teleported a bunch of heroes and a bunch of villains to Battle World, including Doctor Doom. Doom is important. At the time (we find this out later in FF), Doom had been killed and transferred his mind into some peasant woman. When the heroes and villains were teleported to Battle World, the Doctor Doom we all know and love didn't exist. The peasant woman Doom saw the Beyonder (now in human form) talking to Reed Richards and didn't know who he was. Reed (amazingly brilliant) realized that Doom must have been displaced in time. The Beyonder must have grabbed Doom out of a different time for Secret Wars. At first the Beyonder didn't recognize Doom either, but when he looked deeper he could see Doom's soul inside. He was going to kill Doom. Reed convinced him not to for the sake of causality. The Beyonder reluctantly agreed, changed Doom back into his regular body, and then sent him back in time to the Secret Wars. What all this means is that the Beyonder could get Cap, Tony, and yes even Natasha from any time he wanted, or merely reconstitute them from nothing. He has the literal power over life and death. He could make 3 Caps, 10 Tonys and 1000 Natashas if he wanted. He doesn't have any meaningful limits. So if you just want these characters back, the Beyonder can do it. Super easy, barely an inconvenience. Even a de-tuned Beyonder should be able to do this.

It sure does put a neat spin on the scene between Steve and Sam in Endgame if old man Cap is coming back from having just participated in Secret Wars...and that's why he doesn't tell Sam about it when he asks.

Well if they’re gonna infuse both the older Secret Wars and the newer one then I can see them using the Soul Stone or a stone in general that brings Steve back the same way the time stone carried him through time in the 2015 Secret Wars storyline.

I 100% love this. Also, would be so F’N amped if the scene where Cap meets Red Skull to take back the Soul Stone is the after credit scene in Kang Dynasty…

What I’d love to see is them bring Superior Iron Man into the main universe and adapt the whole story of Daredevil trying to stop him.

I like your spin on the theory. Only issue is I think it might be a bit complex for the mass audience marvel will be pulling with Secret Wars. Maybe we'll just get a more simplified explanation? I think Quantumania will also be telling. Will be on the lookout for Easter eggs about ways that lost souls can return.

Really interesting, the multiverse creates all kinds of strange interesting scenarios with old and new characters interacting. I hope Chris Evans cones back.

Because the soul stone was linked to Thanos, it was his sacrifice - everything that occurred after the snap is simply the figment of his imagination. They never retrieved the stones, they never reversed the effect - it was simply an illusion made by Thanos.

So we all know Steve / Cap is a selfless man. What if he went back in time and not returned the stones but he used them to wield and try to fight the battle against the Kang himself or perhaps Doom. He lost again, now he’s trapped in Battleworld!

I would like it better if they brought back Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans as variants of Iron Man and Captain America, to pay back the OG marvel fans but also keep the 616 story arc pure. They could be really close to the ones we know and love but also have some really cool differences that make them unique.

It doesn’t work, they already established that the infinity stones won’t work in another universe and only work inside the ones they belong in. Infinity stones from 616 won’t work in universe 838, they clearly established that so this theory just doesn’t work tbh

I wonder how everyone will react to Tony Stark being alive, in particular Pepper, Spider-Man, all the alive Avengers, Morgan, etc.

When hulk was experimenting with time travel and he accidentally put time through Ant Man instead of putting him through time. That turned him into a little kid. Cant they do that for Cap?

I'd love to see them come back but I really think they should use secret wars to recast all characters to start over. I'd like to see all of the x men and avengers interact together.

I think that will be the outcome. So somehow it's got to work out with our Heroes restoring all the versions of Earth but in the process they have no way doing it to perfection and realize that there's no way for all the versions of heroes and villains to be assured that they would return to their proper timeline. So our every version of heros and villains is just simply portaled to a version of Earth knowing that it's impossible to return to their previous Earth. Maybe the Beyonder is tasked with assigning them to a planet but can't determine Earth 502 from 838 and as a result of the incursions and Secret Wars the Beyonder says there is no longer an Earth 616. Those characters are assigned a new Earth timeline. In the process of getting all the characters to their new Earth the Beyonder asks our newer heroes from the 616 to help displace the other heroes. Once they're done he reveals to Reed Richards Professor X that they will be returning to 616 to take over and keep things in order. Upon returning to 616 they land in NYC to find it's already teaming with multiple iterations of all those characters they defeated Doom with.

That's the same thing I've been saying. If Evans comes back for Secret Wars, there's no way that they don't write a scene with Evans Cap and Evans Human Torch are fighting Red Skull.

Hulk says that he tried to bring back Natasha when he did his snap, but he couldn’t, and Infinity Stones don’t work outside their native universe in the comics. I think it’s going to be either a different universe or a time variant.

Or… here me out. “Instead of pushing Lang through time you might have push time through Lang” Could easily make cap young again with that time machine and can continue his story that way

Whoa! That was a lot but I get it!! Incredible theory and palpable strength in logic!

Cool theory, but as Loki season 1 points out, the infinity stones are as useless in the multiverse as they are as being a stabler holding paperwork down while being forgotten in a drawer filled w/ useless items. Cap will still come back in Secret Wars, but that's how we find out how or why he's old since he had to complete multiple different missions throughout the time traveling incursion he explores at the end of endgame that Cap didn't go into detail about

I think they will do a Disney plus show about Cap right before battle world and will explain where he went for all those decades and he will show up there I bet you that happens

I love this idea. I cannot believe we are actually seeing the further progression of the MCU and getting Secret Wars.

I could see this for Black Widow, since this version of the Soul Stone was created from her sacrifice, but I'm not sure for others.

The soul stone is a Multiplier. Like a buff to the other stones lol, that's how I like to think it.

I like this idea. I think Battleworld is where we were at the end of time in LOKI. Hence why the living tribunal was smashed.

The soul stone was actually taken several times without sacrifice. Hawkeye sacrificed Black Widow. Not voluntarily, but he was definitely aware of the price he paid. He was there. He could not have been much closer to the sacrifice. He gets the stone. Tony Stark took it from Hawkeye to make the glove(s) work. Hulk took the glove from Tony to make the reverse snap. In the great battle, the glove changed hands many times. Eventually Thanos got the glove with all the stones. Then Iron Man got in close and yoinked all the stones into his own armor to do the final snap.

I think it would be a good idea if the soul stone comes back and it ends up with Adam Warlock. Then have him meet Pip and eventually bring in Magus and I’m happy.

I think you missed how Adam Warlock is gonna play into all of this, considering in comics Warlock is the main user and protector of the Soul stone/gem

such a good idea but i think were leaving those characters behind will be focusing more on the F4 and Xmen at the time, maybe some oldies but the stones are prob a thing of the past with all the new characters well get,if we get Cap back thats great but that would take away a lot of oomf for Sams movie and arc imo BUT i think it woukd be cool i just dont want another cap/iron man centered avengerss movie whenever theres so many more important characterss coming in during phase 5/6

It would be out-of-character for Cap to bring back the dead solely for the battle world

I could see a scenario where something happens and it brings the variants of Steve, Nat, Tony etc but not being a total Revival of you get what I mean. With Pretty much a portals 2.0 but on steroids

There's two captain america because when Steve Rogers travelled the time back in 1945, in that timeline there's also another Steve Rogers who is frozen. It is possible that 21st century Cap prevented the discovery of another frozen cap and that another cap is still frozen in the main MCU timeline. Remember if old cap exist in the main timeline that means that he didnt travelled on another timeline because if he did then there's no way that avengers even know him.

Or they use the accidental method of aging/de-aging Scott Lang when Banner didn’t have a handle on how to do it.

Ok so you have to remember when they said that the Infinity Stones only work in the universe they are from. It doesn’t matter what universes get destroyed and how many. The only stones that will work in this universe were returned by Cap. I do wonder how Cap returned the Soul Stone but, I believe Red Skull was there. Who was there guarding the Soul Stone BEFORE the Teseract sent Red Skull there? We don’t know. Probably no one. Which means as soon as someone gets the Soul Stone, Red Skull is relieved of his duties. However, Hawkeye and Black Widow went there BEFORE Thanos so Cap would have to return the stone at the same exact time that Black Widow died meaning Red Skull WOULD have to be there and continue to guard the stone until Thanos shows up. I believe Cap went to Vormir and went down below to drop off the stone and retrieve Black Widows body unbeknownst to Red skull and Hawkeye. When Red Skull tried to leave Vormir, he couldn’t because the stone was still there. IF Cap comes back it will be because we find out that Cap was a Skrull all along. I don’t think they would do that with Cap but at least one of the original Avengers will be found out to be a Skrull and the Original person will be on a ship somewhere in space in a stasis/cryo chamber and will have to be found and awakened not knowing any of the Avengers or what happened in the MCU.

I find it interesting that thw Soul stone would not have a distinct universe for it anymore. Remonds me of Loki with all the stones that are paper wieghts and in what if when Demon Strange and Super Ultron both used their respective time stones, even neither were from the universe (or maybe Ultrons was part of that universe but Stranges wasn't? i kinda forgot) I hope the stones make sort of a comeback in understanding, cuz Phase 4 has kinda forgot about them, and I hope they arent too forgotten that they need to be reintroduced.

It's the multiverse. One variant won't have the same fate as the other. So yeah, old Cap is in one universe while another Steve Rodgers in another

Great theory but I just don't see Marvel getting that creative for their normies...but also brings to mind a possible continuity error regarding Steve's return trip with the stones: In Loki season 1, didn't the TVA purge that timeline/reality when capturing the Loki variant? So Cap wouldn't have a place to return the Time and Mind stone according to that continuity...maybe he would just keep them?

I'm still waiting for someone to talk about the aftermath of cap saying hail hyda... I can only imagine what happened to that version of Cap that was still in that timeline🧐

2012 Cap thought it was Loki taking the scepter. My guess is the Hydra folks were briefed on this.

I'm ok with seeing variants of them instead or get them from a different timeline almost similar to the mcu

when ant man was testing out the quantum time machine, he returned a few times at different ages. they could do this with old man steve rogers and bring him back in his prime

While it is fun to fantasize, it is also good to be realistic. It is important to consider that the actors themselves may have agendas of their own apart from the MCU as well as the directors and producers and their flexibility in working with actors/actresses. But I do like your theory.

Neat theory, but all of this can be done with variants.

I like the theory but I think it is missing a step or two in order to get to that point where Cap can just show up and use the stone to bring people back. However, I do think it would be a fitting way to have one last hurrah with the OG Avengers and use Secret Wars as a way to reset the MCU with the X-Men and Fantastic 4 tied into it.

I think you guys are missing 1 MAJOR element regarding the MCU and OUR Soul stone...the moment that could save 'Old man Cap' from soulstone servitude and facilitate the rebirth of OUR 616's dead heroes is this!: Captain hands the soulstone to the long awaited debut of Adam Warlock!

I think these characters will come back but with the quantum travel machine in such a way the comics did in the 80s. MJOLNIR!

Something some of us forget that there's a budget no matter how much we'd love something even if we were in charge of it there's only so much money but it's a pretty awesome thing them doing all this it's kind of messy and playful way

I think it would be detrimental to the MCU to bring them all back. They've got these new heroes they are trying to have be the new leaders of the MCU. Taking away their chance to shine by bringing back the originals will only keep them as lower tier heroes. I'd rather see Steve Evans come back in a Nomad movie which takes place behind the scenes with him doing missions for Peggy Carter (maybe even explaining how Red Guardian met him).
