DLC wasn't a thing back then (unless you mean the beamdog remake, enhanced edition). And I am not just being pedantic. You did not download the expansion packs, you bought them from the store, like the base game, they came on a disk, like the base game, and you had to install it, like the base game.

Me who has not beaten act 1 after 20 hours of gameplay: Interesting 🤔 (Update: Me and my mate beat our game after 43 hours. Didn't get the armor cause I didn't feel like being an evil bastard 😭)

Can you blame them? Those fucker have half CR and they can instantly kill you with their pocket knife with just normal hit

I hope you aren't being sarcastic, I acutally think that aspect of the game is really cool because it gives weight to making decisions and provides actual consequence for them.

Okay something to warn people about the Bhaalist armor: when you go around anybody who is not in your party while wearing it, everybody runs away. The aura of murder makes people run away from you and it can be very frustrating trying to talk to people.

You can toggle the aura on and off as a free action. Just drag it to a quickbar for convenience.

I gave Astarion the hood and armor in my Dark Urge playthrough because I was wearing Kethric Thorm armor, but Astarion looks really good in it. Especially when in that playthrough I made him Vampire Ascendence. He was a dual wielding hand crossbows killing machine. So much fun was had in that run.

Pair with bonespike gloves that ignore peircing resistance so you always proc the vulnerability

That’s not really how that works though. Bonespike ignores resistance when calculating damage. But it doesn’t change the presence of resistance on the stat sheet. If the enemy has resistance on the stat sheet the aura will not apply vuln to them. Bonespike is generally used for ranged builds for this reason. Since it universally allows bows to deal good damage but otherwise doesnt stack with other amps.

@@SH1NK1R01 I get that and agree with you, but as of right now the combo procs vulnerability on those who generally have the resistence such as the Steel Watchers. I would assume it's a bug since the resistence section displays as if they are completely immune but the description states vulnerable when within the aura.

@@jayviktor6130 Looted from Strangler Luke in the Undercity Ruins during the quest Get Orin's Netherstone as part of the trial to enter the Temple of Bhaal. The enemy will despawn once the trial is complete so the item will need to be obtained before then.

I can attest that the armor skyrockets your damage. I put it on Astarion. My highest crit woth him ever, is when he was wearing that, and did 107 poinys of damage on his Sneak Attack.

I also ran a mod that improves Slayer form (upping DCs and a bit of damage increases, as well as removing the Long Rest limitation), so whenever I wasn't stabbing really, *really* hard, I was just a menace in Slayer form. It was great. A bit broken, but at that point what's a little more lol

Idk if this was bugged but I had my laezel bathe in the blood. And none of my companions reacted to it being my Tav being responsible 😂same with Harleep. If your Tav is far away you can essentially get your companions to do things you don’t want to do.

it's incredible how much replay value this game has, especially for old school DnD players. It encourages another go as something totally different, and that's amazing.

One of the few NPC you cant pickpocket.

He shares inventory with the ghost at the trial, so you can cast greater invisibility on your thief and just steal from it there. It is DC29, but at level 12 you should be able to hit that easily.

Gloves (that are bugged) plus Eldritch blast, spell sniper, champion fighter, assassin rogue, crit helmet, dual wield crit weapons, crit bow and potent robe. Gloves add another EB beam on crit currently. So your damage if you crit all hits (fairly likely with the above combo and alert feat to help initiative) gives 36d10+216 damage. If bug is fixed it would still be 18d10+18d6+108 presuming all crits.

Not even gonna mention the craterflesh gloves you can get from him? They are supposed to add 1d6 force damage to critical hits but are currently bugged and do like 5d6 instead. Absolutely broken and so worth becoming an unholy assassin for

it says they do 1d6, but you can get them to do even more because crits naturally add the extra damage dice (basic crits will have 2d6 extra force dmg)

They're comically bugged for Eldritch blast when you crit instead of adding 2d6 force it just shoots another Eldritch blast beam that auto crits

This is the best armour for Astarion IMO

Try the bhaalist armor with infernal rapier and helmet of arcane acuity, the most fun I’ve had in bg3 and if it didn’t come online so late in the game it would be the best build period, this works on any spellcaster but it’s especially strong on bard since you can get multiple stacks of acuity via slashing flourish. Add a few enchantment spells and shatter and you’re unstoppable. CC whole rooms with confusion or hypnotic pattern. Turbocharge command, hold person, and hold monster. I killed Rafael in 1 round without touching the pillars using this. It’s completely busted!

Did with my chaotic swordbard paladin oathbreaker, then after I killed Orin I came back here and murdered the tribunal.

this is making me excited to play my dark urge rogue even more

Full Bhaalist armor, 6 levels for Fighter and 6 for Assassin if I remember correctly, the bow you buy from this guy, and both of Orin’s weapons. This was my setup for the first time I completed Baldur’s Gate, which happened to be an Evil Durge run💀

I loved watching this playthrough! Cant wait to continue through the DLCs and beyond 🎉

105 hours. Finally done. Man this game is HEAVY ❤

I think it would be nice a NG+ that resets everything but keep the gear you got.

For me the armour made everyone run away from me it made starting conversations difficult lol😅

Reminds me of Peter Schiff’s book “How an Economy Grows and Why it Crashes”.

My paladin was having none! of it. Mercd the whole lot...

That Drow Tav looks glorious.

Craterfish gloves, reverberation necklace/rings, potent robe, full agonizing blast wyll=very destructive criticals, and 3 at a time. Add action surge and speed for even more. It was funny watching wyll destroy all of Raphaels pillars in one turn and still had an extra cast to knock him down 😂. Reverberation is a hell of a thing.

im 80 hrs in and just got to moonrise😅

I wish there was more cool-looking, evil heavy/medium armor in game. Ketheric’s armor is nice, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer to wear something more personalized, or at least something that isn’t so closely tied to a main character’s design.

I named my Dragonborn durge Ziyal as a double reference to this guy, Abazigal and the ds9 character haha

Never knew he was missable 🤔 haha I love that outfit makes me send my companions on the run when I'm just trying to speak to them 😂

The armor is awesome, the rest, not so much.

My Battlemaster 8/Assassin 4 is currently rocking the Bhaalist gear. Almost feels like I’m in a BG3 version of Assassins Creed

A good weapon I thought was good for this was the invisible spear you get from the merchant at the crèche. Since it’s a two handed piercing weapon. It benefits from great weapon master along with the murder aura. And since it’s invisible, you make all your attack rolls with advantage along with criting at a 19. I’m sure there others that are good out there. But the invisible spear is the only one I thought actually did good consistent damage.

That spear is just amazing until you get the giantslayer or risky ring (to always get advantage, instead of until you miss). Adding polearm master to it until you get something better and respec is a nice way to carry that thing throughout the entirety of act 2 and half of act 3 (and in act 2 you can get the halberd of vigilance, which is also stupidly good)

⁠​⁠​⁠@@Nefhith1337why polearm master? Sure you get a bonus action hit. But great weapon master also gives you that on a kill or crit. Which you’ll be doing since you crit on a 19, and have advantage on every hit till you miss.

⁠@@Nefhith1337Honestly I’ve yet to see any reason why giant slayer is that good, and I used it on my first play through gith fighter and still felt it kinda suck. Yes. It gives you extra strength damage. But it sacrifices range from polearm weapons.

​@@destroyercreater98 Githyanki have many super good weapons that apply only to them (silver swords in general). What makes the Giantslayer so good is mostly stacking. If you have a fighter with great weapon master, 27 str and use the weapon's abilities, it makes you deal crazy damage (minimum 2d6 + 29 + 1d6), which averages to 39.5 damage/attack. As a fighter you can attack six times with action surge, and since you have LOTS of ways to give yourself advantage by the time you get it, it is really difficult to miss, and in fact, you'll crit a lot. Add the topple special attack dealing additional 2d6 damage, proficiency bonus extra damage (4 at levels 9~12) and automatic advantage against large or bigger enemies. Of course depending on your build and preference might have other, better uses for diferent weapons, like a polearm master + sentinel build with nyrulna (or throwing), but the giantslayer is far from being bad and is easily one of the best weapons you can use in act 3

​@@destroyercreater98 Crit on 19 isn't always critting, so that already means you won't have it all the time, but still. Besides the bonus action smack you can *always* use, the best use for the feat is the opportunity attack when enemies come within range, which happens much more often than them leaving. You can also attack enemies, move a meter or so away without triggering opportunity attacks since you have longer range than them and just have it trigger when they try to come at you. It also pairs amazingly well with sentinel, because when you oportunity attack (with advantage!), they can't move anymore. Which means if it's a melee enemy, they will just stand there giving you mean looks because they can't reach you, but you *can*. Also you can do opportunity attacks against enemies who attack your mates, so another bonus point. Also halberds are heavy, which benefit from great weapon master, which makes the halberd of vigilance and hellbeard halberd really good choices even for the entirety of act 3

"Aura of Murder" is such a badass name for an effect.

I just want to mention that is light armor with an ac of 14 meaning there is no dex cap to it so you can have an ac of 19 if you have a 20 in dex IE rogue wielding a rapier

Meanwhile i sit here nuking everyone with magic missile

i’d totally watch an “all act” guide if you made one!

both of my play throughs are near 140. the first is actually more from dying without saving and similar incidents and having to go back hours.

Me in my first playthrough and saying nope, not fighting that thing

I became an unholy assassin in both my playthroughs (almost done with mg second one as durge) but I never even tried talking to any of the echos... guess I know where I going next

Larian has never done DLC, but they usually release a Definitive Edition around a year later.

Yeah, but not only you got to kill one of your companions for it, it's so far down into Act 3 as to not matter, even in Honor Mode runs.

They've done Sarevok dirty by completely throwing away his entire character arc and resetting him to BG1.

eh i don't think it's out of character that he'd return to Bhaal. Jaheira even says something to the effect that he "wasted his second chance at life by running back to daddy" if you bring her to the Tribunal

Okay idk if this is a bug but I’ve had that armor on astarion and I have not seen a single enemy be debuffed by it. I also haven’t noticed a significant damage increase, only increase was from leveling up. Anyone know?

​@@tabatha7217And nothing of value was lost. But not only can you turn on them, if you come back to the tribunal after killing Orin they turn on you, for now you are an extremely good sacrifice for Bhaal.

I put all that gear on Astarion. For some reason he did worse damage.

Guess we becoming unholy despite trying to be redeemed durge lol

Easy to miss, found him on my 1st playthrough not durge or anything Blind playthrough ig some of us like war crimes 😂

does it make really sense - when u get this items, game is almost over.

i managed to deal 106 dmg with one attack with these stuff

... and sadly, I'll never get to trade with him because there's no way I'll be doing an evil play-through. And becoming an unholy assassin is probably the evil version of an evil play-through, so... :D

Sadly it's little more than a title. It doesn't get referenced anywhere, nobody points it out and doesn't affect the endings. So the only evil part is killing Valeria; you can get your gear, destroy the Murder Tribunal and then continue being a goody-two-shoes without issue. Hell, most party members don't even disapprove (though you can't do this with Minsc or Jaheira in the party).

Still 0 sense Sarevok is alive... Man, the lack of consistency was a pain when playing this game

Sux... easy to miss... more like impossible to get unless you pick a very particular path.
